I visited the yakiniku restaurant "Akasaka Misuji" on a certain day in May 2023, after 6 pm. Located just a 2-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, on the 2nd floor of a building, the restaurant had a high-class atmosphere with well-separated seating areas. I had made a reservation for the "Misuji Wholehearted Course" priced at ¥8,800 for two people. We sat at a table and ordered drinks, starting with a Suntory Premium Malt (draft) for ¥790 to toast and refresh our throats. We tried the Kimchi Trio Platter and Namul Trio Platter, which included three types of kimchi and three types of namul (seasoned vegetables). The flavors were decent but not outstanding, and I personally prefer kimchi with a stronger spiciness. However, both dishes had a satisfying amount that complemented the yakiniku course well. We also enjoyed the Special Salt Dressing Salad, which featured fresh lettuce and green onions with a salt dressing. It was a refreshing way to start before diving into the meat dishes. Next, we tried the seared, rare sliced roast, which was lightly seared and served with condiments. It had a smooth texture and a sweet taste of meat fat. The dish was enjoyed yukhoe style with raw egg yolk, adding depth to the flavors. We then savored the Scallion Tongue, Premium Roast, and Upper Harami, each offering a unique texture and taste. The scallion tongue was crispy and enjoyable, while the premium roast and upper harami were tender and juicy, releasing delicious meat juices with each bite. We continued with the Lean Meat and Misuji, appreciating the high-quality lean meat and the tender misuji with a good amount of marbling. We switched from draft beer to a red wine "Hahn" priced at ¥5,780, which paired well with the yakiniku. The medium-bodied red wine complemented the flavors of the grilled meat perfectly. As a palate cleanser, we were served a simple soup that refreshed our mouths. We then tried the Fillet and Silk Roast, where the staff quickly seared the beautifully marbled fillet and silk roast. The fillet was flavorful, especially when paired with red wine, while the silk roast was served sushi-style with sauce and rice, offering a luxurious meat sushi experience. The Special Roast and Grilled Sukiyaki followed, with the special roast being grilled to perfection and served with aromatic vegetables and ponzu sauce. The grilled sukiyaki, with its egg yolk and sauce, provided a delightful sukiyaki meat experience. We ended the meal with Awa hand-stretched somen noodles and pickled daikon kimchi, enjoying the cold noodles soaked in a flavorful broth and the refreshing taste of pickled daikon kimchi. Lastly, we had the Rock Salt Ice Cream for dessert, which combined the sweetness of ice cream with a hint of saltiness, creating a delicious and unique flavor. Overall, "Misuji," a part of the "Yoroniku" group, impressed us with its excellent meat quality and hospitality. The staff's grilling service added to the enjoyable dining experience, making it worth the price for the delicious food and service. If you're looking for tasty yakiniku in the Akasaka area, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit again.
