There are three Ramai branches in Hakodate, but I feel that this one has a lot of inconsistencies in quality. On this day, the vegetables were small and only the carrots were surprisingly large. The chicken was not tender, with fibers still remaining and the flavor lacking, almost like steamed chicken breast. The rice also had inconsistencies in color and dryness. If you want to eat Ramai in Hakodate, I honestly recommend two other branches. Since it is easily accessible from the airport and there are many out-of-town customers, I hope they can compete with the original quality of Ramai.

Ramai is my favorite soup curry restaurant. I recommend the chicken soup curry with extra broccoli and pork belly topping. I choose a small portion of rice and extra soup. Before the meal, I have plain lassi, and after the meal, I enjoy lemon lassi and chai. It's just the best of the best. When you step outside the restaurant, you can see the Tsugaru Strait. What a wonderful location. I hope this restaurant continues to thrive.

I visited Ramai in Yugawara Town after a long time. I ordered pork with spice level 6 and added a boiled egg on top, with extra garlic. The spice level was not as strong as I remembered, so I added more powder. I ordered a small size rice but I was satisfied and full.

Chicken curry level 9 spiciness - 1,100 yen Add rice (small), extra broccoli - 170 yen Lassi - 200 yen I was surprised by how quickly the food was served. The chicken was tender, and the soup was refreshing. The spiciness was still manageable, so I adjusted the taste midway. When the soup was down to about a third, I added three spoonfuls of cayenne pepper from the table, and it became perfectly spicy~♪ The lassi with coconut milk was fragrant and delicious. Plus, it was inexpensive and very filling. While extra raw chili peppers cost extra, adding regular spiciness was free, and you could even get a large portion of soup for free. The freedom to customize was great. I would definitely go back if I have the chance.

You can choose the type of curry and the level of spiciness - I went for the beef curry with a medium level of spiciness. I'm not a fan of very spicy food. I topped it off with a fried egg. The soup curry was just spicy enough for me. It had vegetables like deep-fried lotus root and pumpkin, giving it a crunchy texture with a good balance of curry and spices. Soup curry is a great way to get a lot of vegetables in your meal.

I have tried Ramai in Asahikawa and was fully satisfied with the taste, so I was looking forward to visiting it while traveling. This curry restaurant is located close to the sea. The Asian-themed storefront and the dark entrance create an exciting atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Curry (spiciness level 10) with a free large soup and Turmeric Rice. The spiciness was just right and delicious! The soup was light and had a pleasantly mild sweetness, reminiscent of a hint of piquant flavor. The chicken was incredibly tender and easy to eat.
