This time, I was treated to a meal here by the kind customer. The menu seemed a bit difficult to understand at first glance, but it was a kaiseki cuisine using seasonal ingredients from Hokkaido. Each dish was very delicious. Of course, I paired it with Hokkaido sake and enjoyed it very much! The interior is a bit old-fashioned, but the view of the private room's garden was also very nice.

The restaurant has an average rating of 3.16, but it was actually good. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice, and I used it for entertaining guests. The private room was spacious and I was satisfied. It seemed intimidating at first, but it was actually quite relaxed and comfortable. It's quiet despite its location.

About 500 meters south of Susukino Station is a quiet area, located just east of the intersection of Minami 7 Nishi 4. There is a long-established traditional Japanese restaurant on the right-hand side as soon as you head east from the intersection. I received an invitation from a customer who wanted to host a small banquet as a token of gratitude, so this was my second visit to the restaurant. It is a single house on the outskirts of Susukino, with a dignified atmosphere. There are Hina dolls displayed at the entrance and in the banquet hall, giving it a traditional feel. The tatami room has a stage, with three elderly ladies and even young geisha this time. It seems that this restaurant is one of the few places in Sapporo where you can enjoy such entertainment. The course meals range from 8,640 yen to 14,040 yen, and I am not sure which one was served this time as I was invited. Additionally, there is a separate 20% service charge and fees for the geisha. Despite not being able to play the Chintonshan game, I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful dishes served while experiencing this unique entertainment.

This is a long-established traditional Japanese restaurant in Sapporo in May 2018. I used it for a dinner party. It has a luxurious and lovely atmosphere. The servers in kimono greet you politely. The view of the garden from the room is also beautiful. There are also beautiful geisha figures in the hallway. It's nice to know that there is such an elegant traditional restaurant in Sapporo. As for the food, it is full of seasonal flavors, beautifully presented on wonderful dishes. Each dish, including the side dishes, is carefully and beautifully prepared, and we were able to enjoy them very deliciously. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

It was a fantastic night watching the geishas dance while enjoying a summer party with fun company. The food was delicious and the atmosphere here is great.

It seems to be a famous traditional Japanese restaurant in Sapporo. It has been a long time since I last visited a traditional Japanese restaurant, the last time being in Sendai before the earthquake. The atmosphere and the food were excellent. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious food.

The flavors are strong for a kaiseki meal. Are people from Hokkaido used to strong flavors? The ingredients were surprisingly different. As someone from Kansai, I'm not sure about it. Kyoto is still the best for kaiseki. It's a bit disappointing for the price.

Sapporo City Chuo-ku Minami 7-jo Nishi 3 Kawajin is a Japanese restaurant that exudes a sense of history. From the exterior to the entrance courtyard, the waitresses welcoming you in kimono attire. The atmosphere of the shop that has been running since the Showa era is truly remarkable. The head chef has won awards such as the National Japan Culinary Skills Association Master Chef and the Cabinet Office-certified Japan Culinary Association Master, showcasing his exceptional skills. I visited the restaurant with excitement. Instead of the main entrance of the main store, I entered from the side annex (counter seats). The hidden entrance adds an interesting touch to the place. The first dish was made with asparagus and firefly squid. It was delicious with a good dashi flavor and a rich taste of firefly squid. The shinjo soup also had a wonderful dashi aroma. The satisfaction of savoring each dish, layering flavors while bringing out the taste of the ingredients, is unique to Japanese cuisine. Uni and duck dish were served next. The dish with cherry blossom branches added a seasonal touch and looked visually appealing. The three-dimensional presentation was enjoyable to look at. After enjoying the sashimi platter, we had bamboo shoot rice as the finale. The surprise of the delicious dessert was the highlight. We had a very delicious and leisurely time, thanks to the excellent service of the staff. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I was invited by a customer to a special experience, where they wanted to show their gratitude by hosting a small banquet. As a skeptical person, I was a bit nervous (since some customers invite you to events like this but still make you pay), but this time it was a genuine invitation. The banquet took place at a traditional Japanese restaurant on the outskirts of Susukino, with a charming atmosphere. There were Hina dolls at the entrance and in the banquet hall, adding to the Edo period decor. The tatami room even had a stage, where four elderly women played the shamisen and danced. This kind of entertainment is rare in Sapporo. The food was beautifully presented, incorporating local Hokkaido ingredients. It was a delightful and elegant experience that cannot be fully described in a review.

The number of traditional Japanese restaurants is decreasing, but this one in Hokkaido seems to be one of the few left. They put a lot of effort into using local Hokkaido ingredients in their dishes, and you can really taste the dedication in each dish. They also aim to preserve traditional Japanese cuisine, which is becoming more Westernized with dishes like hamburgers and fried shrimp. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with a sense of history. However, while the food is delicious, one would expect even more from a traditional Japanese restaurant. I hope they can create a dish that truly stands out and leaves a lasting impression. I also hope for better service from the hostess and waitresses. It would be great if they had iconic hostesses or waitresses to enhance the experience. It would be a shame to lose such a historic restaurant, so I hope they continue to work hard in the future. Keep up the tradition of this historic restaurant.

On a certain day in April, we used Kawajin Honten for my father's retirement celebration. I don't go to high-end restaurants often, so I was looking forward to it. The room we were seated in was spacious, with a view of the garden. When my child fell asleep and we were worried, a maid brought us a futon! I was amazed! The food included seasonal ingredients like bamboo shoots, sweet shrimp, and kelp with eggs, as well as premium ingredients like shark fin. The desserts were beautifully presented and we were very satisfied. However, the soup was a bit too refined and lacked flavor. My parents were pleased, and it was a very satisfying day.

I went to lunch with my cousin. Leaving aside the fact that it was a bento box, we first checked the "Seasonal Two-Tiered Bento Box" (2,625 yen) on the website. When we arrived, the waitress was already standing there and opened the (automatic) door for us. The interior was not as fancy as some might expect from a long-established restaurant, but rather felt like visiting a slightly larger house. We were the only customers in the room, so we were able to relax and take our time. The meal came with miso soup and bamboo shoot rice. The food was very delicious. The flavors were just right, not too strong or too weak, but they left a lasting impression on the palate. The miso soup and clear soup were served at the perfect temperature. The tea was also refilled at the right time. When they mentioned a water dessert, I thought it would be fruit, but it turned out to be pudding. I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that even though they suggested we pay separately, they combined our change. I would have preferred to receive our change separately. It would have been perfect if they could provide more detailed explanations about the menu and dishes (even though we might not understand). The waitstaff were all very kind, smiling, and pleasant. It may be a bit of an exaggeration to say this, but perhaps they study websites like this one and strive to improve daily. I would like to visit again.

I went to a place that had a website with an irresistible offer for women: 670kcal for 3000 yen per person. I didn't know they were open for lunch, so I was pleasantly surprised. It's a "ryotei" (traditional Japanese restaurant), so the atmosphere seemed high-class and meant for entertaining guests. I was seated in a large room on the first floor, and surprisingly, there were no other customers for lunch. The food was not bland despite being low in calories; each dish was well-flavored. I forgot to take a photo, but the foie gras and shingyo (deep-fried fish) were delicious. The dishes were beautifully arranged on the plates, with creative presentation, although I couldn't understand the names of the dishes to describe them, sorry. It's not much of a review... In the end, I finished my meal without meeting any other customers, but it seemed like they were fully booked for dinner every night. Amazing, right?

My 96-year-old grandfather used to go to this restaurant when he was young, so I took him there for the first time, and we have been back several times since. We haven't been to the main building yet, but we prefer the new building because it is wheelchair accessible and you can see the head chef at work. The atmosphere at the counter in the new building, where it happened to be just us, was very calming. The food is delicious, and they have a great variety of drinks. The service is top-notch. Whenever I visit Sapporo, I definitely want to stop by for a day.

I visited this restaurant for a business dinner. It was my second time here. As a well-known restaurant in Sapporo, the ambiance is calm and elegant with a touch of luxury. You can also enjoy the view of the garden. Being entertained in such a nice place definitely makes you feel special. The staff, dressed in traditional Japanese attire, provide attentive service. While it may not be as refined as high-end restaurants in Akasaka, the Hokkaido charm adds to its appeal. The food is decent for the price, not outstanding but still delicious. If the focus is on business and drinks during the dinner, you might miss out on the good food. It lacks the local flair, creativity, and novelty that gourmet diners seek. Therefore, I wouldn't consider coming here with family or friends, except maybe to impress someone by saying "I always dine at this place." For business dinners, this restaurant is a safe choice!
