To my beloved Hokkaido hotel ✨ Recently, the hotel has become famous for its sauna, but it is also undoubtedly aiming to conquer all the top restaurants in Tokachi. I had a wonderful time at Sushi Kasuga in the Japanese restaurant Rokuro. I was moved by each dish over and over again ✨ I felt like there was no need for clumsy words, just looking at the photos, seeing the variety, and looking at the quality of the ingredients... Today's meal was at Kasuga-san, a sushi restaurant inside a hotel in Hokkaido. The sauna at this hotel is good, but today I visited the Kangetsuen hot spring in Tokachi River for two sets (not enough). The downside of this hot spring facility is that the indoor area is too spacious and the pathway to the outdoor baths is not well-designed. However, the quality is high! After a 20-minute drive, I arrived at the Hokkaido Hotel in Obihiro city. The sushi here used to be really bad in the past. It started with a mini salad, followed by a parade of frozen ingredients, and ended with a dessert that was not impressive at all. "Is this Hokkaido sushi?" I sadly thought. I stayed away for many years, but I heard that the cuisine has changed and decided to visit. I was amazed... It has truly transformed. It's not just an evolution, it's like a rebirth! They serve dishes with carefully crafted vinegared rice and seasonal ingredients from Hokkaido. A well-thought-out series of courses. The omakase set cost 10,000 yen, but I feel like the food and service alone are worth 30,000 yen. The counter seats at the restaurant are the same as before, but the food quality is on par with Sapporo and Ginza levels. The restaurant has completely changed from before. I have great respect for the chefs and management who were able to make such a transformation! Amazing! It doesn't seem too crowded yet, so I recommend making a reservation early!

I used it for lunch during my hotel stay. I asked for room cleaning during lunch and had sushi at Kasuga. I ate at the counter, so I didn't take any photos. At first, I ordered the special nigiri, which was 12 pieces of sushi, chawanmushi, and miso soup. It wasn't enough, so I asked for an additional 10 pieces of sushi. Even though it was a holiday, the quality of the fish was quite good.

When I stayed at a hotel in Obihiro before Corona (Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro), there was no place to dine alone at the hotel, so I went to the sushi counter of this rival hotel. I was able to use it immediately without a reservation because it was empty on Sunday night. It is an excellent sushi restaurant in the hotel, where you can eat sushi at a leisurely pace at a white wooden counter. The cost performance is also good.

Last December's photo and memo were posted. The market was likely closed that day, so I believe that strongly influenced the experience. This is a shop inside a hotel in Hokkaido. The first floor has several partitioned restaurant corners, with a sushi counter next to the tempura station. They offer sushi sets with the option to add more pieces. The sushi rice is soft and lightly vinegared, which makes the sushi feel a bit too firm. Maybe it was made by someone not specialized in sushi? The quality of the fish is on par with a typical local sushi restaurant. It seems like Japanese and Western dishes are the main focus here. While there were some points to be concerned about in terms of service, overall it was deemed appropriate. The omakase sushi set costs 2400 yen.
