onikuma
Recommended shabu-shabu restaurant with a popular yakiniku restaurant, Izumi Aji Tei, across the street. Personally, I prefer shabu-shabu. The interior of the restaurant is quite cozy, with sunken kotatsu private rooms and semi-private table seats. I usually choose shabu-shabu or sukiyaki. I always order the set for shabu-shabu. The pork belly set is 1,890 yen, and the premium black wagyu rib roast is 3,150 yen, which is becoming a staple. You can choose from 4 types of broth: red, black, white, and golden. I have tried all of them, but I like the white broth the best. However, the most popular is the golden broth, which has a yuzu flavor. As the weather gets colder, the red broth might be a good choice, with a kimchi-like taste. The set comes with vegetables, rice, and pickles. You can also have the leftover rice made into porridge after the meal (egg costs 100 yen). If you order porridge, they will take the pot and bring it back as porridge. I prefer putting rice in the soup we were eating rather than having it made into porridge. The porridge they bring back is refined with less broth, so it's enjoyable. They have a wide variety of drinks and side dishes, making it a great place to relax. It used to be quiet, but lately, it's been busy due to various promotions. Especially during the winter season and year-end parties, it tends to get crowded. I visited after a long time and noticed that the manager had changed. Since it was cold, I ordered the red broth. This time, it was much spicier than before. If you can't handle spicy food, you might want to avoid it. The meat is delicious, the seats are cozy with private rooms, and the drink menu is extensive. It's perfect for a date. Sometimes it can be noisy due to parties, but it's usually fine on weekdays. You can get a milk pudding with a coupon from Hacoupon. I uploaded some pictures from previous visits.
