Sazae's white oyaki was my first time trying it, and it had a Halloween theme with a cute Halloween stamp on it. The texture was incredibly soft and chewy, even better than I imagined. I really loved it. The red bean filling inside was not too sweet and paired well with the chewy dough. The cream was sweet and rich, and it complemented the dough perfectly. The dough for the cream-filled oyaki had sesame seeds in it. I wonder if the white oyaki is only available for a limited time, as I haven't seen it much before. I'm glad I tried it! Very satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I stopped by the AEON in Ebetsu on my way back after finishing my errands. I found Sazae's ohagi and decided to buy it. I usually don't like ohagi from other stores because they are too sweet, but I love Sazae's ohagi! I don't know if it's the Tokachi red beans they use, the sugar they use, or the unique way they make the sweet bean paste, but it's sweet without being overwhelming and it's delicious. I will definitely visit another branch of Sazae again. Thank you, Ebetsu branch!

Today is the second day of my three-day weekend! My spouse and I had lunch together, went vegetable shopping, and visited the Aeon Mall in Ebetsu. Even though we are residents of Sapporo, we still went to Ebetsu to look for winter shoes. However, we ended up finding summer shoes on sale at 50% off! I can't wait to wear them starting tomorrow. It's the night of the full moon today! There was a crowd gathered around the moon-viewing manju (sweet buns) at the Sazae-san shop. It turns out that today is the night of the full moon! I visited my 87-year-old grandmother (my birth mother) today, and she used to make these moon-viewing manju in the past. Now that our children have grown up and we are waiting for grandchildren, we almost forgot about the rabbit on the moon. We bought the same "night of the full moon" manju that my grandmother used to make and posted a photo of it! Thank you for reading!

Photo submission! I'm getting dinner delivered tonight. It's "Sazae's ohagi"! It's a favorite of the Ishihara group. It was used at events at the now-closed "Yujirō Ishihara Memorial Hall." The bento is delicious!

【Takeout Available】Sazae Food Co., Ltd., which manufactures and sells traditional Japanese sweets such as ohagi, oyaki, and inarizushi, as well as bento boxes, has opened a retail store in a large supermarket. This store is located on the first floor of Aeon Ebetsu, a key transportation hub along National Route 12 in Ebetsu City. On my first visit on April 15, 2018 at 12:30 PM, I mistakenly took the wrong bus due to the rainy weather and ended up getting off at the closest bus stop, walking from there. While passing by Aeon Ebetsu, I decided to take a look and found Sazae! Of course, it was an opportunity for my Foodlog activity. I purchased two items: Soy Milk Cream for 110 yen + tax and Strawberry Cream for 120 yen + tax. The Soy Milk Cream, with a combination of red bean and soybean wrapped in wheat, was delicious. The Strawberry Cream, with a generous amount of sweet and sour strawberry cream, was quite enjoyable. It had been a while since I bought Sazae's oyaki, but it was consistently delicious as always.

▼Location▼
Located on the 1st floor of Aeon Ebetsu store along National Route 12.
▼About the Shop▼
Sazae is a chain store that offers traditional Japanese sweets, onigiri, and more, with around 110 stores in Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kanto regions. The stores are located inside various large and medium-sized supermarkets like Aeon, Co-op, and Arks.
▼Menu▼
Their menu includes specialty Tokachi ohagi, taiyaki, oyaki, as well as onigiri, rolled sushi, and bento boxes.
▼Food Consumed▼
▽ Inari Sushi (5 pieces) - 298 yen
(Simple inari sushi pack with 5 pieces on sale that day. The inari sushi is slightly larger and comes with pickled ginger. The fried tofu is moist, with a slightly sweet seasoning, and the vinegar rice has a firm texture, overall offering a simple and pleasant taste.)
▼Impressions▼
Sazae uses Tokachi red beans for their specialty ohagi and offers a variety of sweet treats, onigiri, sushi like Juroku, and bento boxes. They mainly operate in-store at major supermarkets and commercial facilities in Hokkaido. This particular store is located inside the former Postle store, Aeon Ebetsu. I decided to try the inari sushi on sale that day, as I don't eat it often. It had the expected taste of factory-made inari sushi, simple but comforting. It made me realize I haven't bought any Japanese sweets in a while, so I'll try those next time.
