I visited the restaurant for the second time. The interior is dimly lit with a calming atmosphere for robatayaki. Following the friendly recommendation of the manager, we first ordered baby corn and winter-over Meckin potatoes. For drinks, we ordered Sapporo Classic beer, which seems to be popular here. The baby corn baked in foil had a light sprinkling of salt, offering a nice crunch and sweetness. Even the husk was soft enough to eat. The winter-over Meckin potatoes, a first for me, were incredibly sweet with high sugar content, almost like sweet potatoes. It was delicious. The restaurant clearly has a lot of attention to detail in their cooking methods. It was a great choice to dine here. Thank you for the meal.

If you want to eat delicious Hokkaido cuisine in Sapporo, this robatayaki restaurant is recommended. The most popular dish is probably the hokke, which is big and fatty. You will definitely be satisfied. One fish is enough for two people. The fried tofu is also delicious, but simple and rustic dishes like onions and potatoes are also recommended. The sashimi seems to be brought from the neighboring Suginome restaurant, and it is also delicious! The robatayaki at Utari has excellent taste and atmosphere.

I wasn't very hungry, so I had a little warm sake with pickled vegetables in sweet vinegar, salted fish roe, and smelt salted fish. They were all delicious. You can enjoy traditional charcoal-grilled dishes in a nostalgic atmosphere. They also dry their own smelt and hokke fish. I will definitely visit again when I come to Sapporo.

The setting for the Netflix drama "First Love" is here. The counter where Yae (Hikari Mitsushima) and Harumichi (Takeru Sato) sat is nostalgic and cool. The atmosphere is amazing with a hint of smoke in the air. The counter is run by older sisters. This place is a heritage of Sapporo. We ordered a bottle of beer for 770 yen, 3 lemon sours for 1980 yen, a Calpis sour for 660 yen, 2 shrimp dishes for 1980 yen, grilled cod for 3080 yen, and 3 pickles for 1320 yen. We visited the second place, which was a hidden gem with a quiet counter. We ordered drinks and enjoyed whole grilled shrimp, grilled cod, and pickles. The highlight was the delicious seafood, showcasing the best of Hokkaido. We felt like tourists and savored the experience. The atmosphere was so nice! It's a place we hope will stay forever. It was delicious - thank you for the meal!

One day, I dropped in at a second party. I was seated at a nice counter with a good atmosphere. There were many delicious-looking dishes, but I couldn't enjoy them at all because I was quite full and drunk... However, the shiitake mushrooms were exquisite. I want to try other dishes too, so I will come back again! It's a bit off the beaten path though...

It's been a while since I last visited. I came in alone on a whim because I felt like having some hot sake and grilled fish. Here's what I ordered: - Appetizer: 440 yen - Grilled Atka mackerel: 1,980 yen - Nasu (eggplant): 660 yen - Aburaage (fried tofu): 660 yen - Salted fish roe: 550 yen - Hot sake: 550 yen x 2 The Atka mackerel was a decent size with just the right amount of fat. The eggplant was delicious with ginger and soy sauce while still hot. The fried tofu was a bit overcooked but there was plenty of it. The salted fish roe was perfect with the alcohol. This place has a great atmosphere for enjoying drinks.

When you come to Hokkaido, be sure to visit this place for something truly Hokkaido-style. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is top-notch, and the staff are polite and friendly. When you place your order, they cook it right in front of you in a traditional hearth style. Starting with sashimi, everything is fresh and delicious. The grilled dishes are all amazingly tasty, but the potatoes are especially delicious. It's strange how sweet they are, almost like sweet potatoes. I don't know why regular potatoes can be so sweet, but they are so good that everyone devours them. Also, the original sake of this restaurant called "Kami Misaki" is incredibly delicious. It pairs well with the dishes and personally suits my taste. The atmosphere of the restaurant, the staff's service, and the taste of the dishes all come together to make it a great place to dine!

I waited at this shop for a reservation. When I think of Hokkaido, I think of robatayaki, so I decided to wait here. I like this kind of atmosphere... The Sapporo Classic beer is delicious!! The potatoes (Maekawa) are full of sweetness. I want to eat more, but it's time to move on... I want to come back to this restaurant again next time.

I visited around 6:00 PM on Friday. The place is located about a 10-minute walk from Susukino Station. It is a long-established robatayaki restaurant founded in 1954. "Utari" means "companion" in Ainu language. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm, allowing you to forget the hustle and bustle of Susukino. You can watch the food being grilled right in front of you at the counter seats! It was full of reserved customers on this day. Reservations may be essential on weekends. There are many local customers as well. The grilled vegetables such as shiitake mushrooms and leeks are delicious, but what you should pay attention to is the big-sized hokke fish! It was unbelievably large and had no fishy smell, with plump and slightly sweet flesh. I was amazed by the deliciousness I had never experienced before. The smelt was also delicious, with plump and rich eggs packed tightly inside! Each dish brings out the flavor of the ingredients, allowing you to enjoy the deliciousness of Hokkaido's blessings. While seafood bowls and Genghis Khan are good, I highly recommend robatayaki as well!

You can enjoy delicious ingredients from Hokkaido at this restaurant. Items such as saffron cod, monkfish liver, onions, asparagus, and scallops can be enjoyed in a retro-style setting. The sweetness of the fresh onions even impressed someone who doesn't like onions. The size of the scallops was also impressive. Some popular dishes may sell out late at night.

Nearby is a long-established restaurant affiliated with Suginome-san. The historic interior exudes a very flavorful atmosphere. They serve excellent sashimi and high-quality ingredients for their robatayaki. The staff are calm and provide a mature drinking establishment vibe. The beef fillet miso marinade from Suginome-san was exquisite. While it may be a bit pricey, the ambiance, ingredients, and flavors are all worth it.

When I visit Sapporo, I always make sure to stop by this robatayaki restaurant. I love their grilled sailfin poacher, golden eye snapper, and grilled snow crab. Unfortunately, the golden eye snapper was sold out this time, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the sailfin poacher, asparagus, and grilled snow crab with a glass of black label. The snow crab was delicious with plenty of miso. The cost performance is great, and the retro interior, established in Showa 29 (1954), adds to the charm. I hope it remains unchanged, like an old-fashioned inn. There is something special about things that don't change, right?

This is one of my favorite robatayaki restaurants to go to alone or with like-minded entrepreneur friends for a chat at the second or third place. It is a sister restaurant of the ryotei Suginome. The menu is centered around grilled dishes, but if you order sashimi, it will be brought from the ryotei. Naturally, it is of ryotei quality. One of the charms is that the grilled dishes are cooked right in front of you at the robata. It is a luxurious experience for adults to enjoy the fresh ingredients grilled over charcoal, savoring the smoke and aroma. The prices are also reasonable. There are no misses at the robata! The robata is the universe!

A group of cheerful friends came to Sapporo from Shibuya. For our second stop, we went to a local cuisine restaurant. Even though we were already somewhat full from the first place, we decided to order one dish each: smoked herring, deep-fried tofu, and long eggplant. The appetizer was pickled herring, which was delicious. We shared a bottle of Sapporo Classic beer, a limited edition only available in Hokkaido, as our drink. For the second round, we tried a local sake from Hokkaido called Kamui Misaki, which was smooth and easy to drink. It was a bit challenging to eat a large hokke fish by myself, but with three people, we finished it quickly and enjoyed the generous portions of the dishes. The food was cooked perfectly, with a crispy exterior and moist interior. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Established in 1954, this long-standing izakaya in Susukino offers a serene and soothing atmosphere that is unexpected in the bustling heart of neon-lit Susukino. The entrance and interior ambiance make it hard to believe you are in the midst of all the glittering lights. The restaurant is part of a group that includes a high-end traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant and a Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) establishment. Today, I started with a Sapporo Classic beer, accompanied by marinated herring as a complimentary appetizer. The sashimi platter consisted of seasonal asparagus, large squares of fried tofu, two big prawns, and I chose the red salmon as the fish. Although I would have loved to try the grilled Atka mackerel or King crab, it was hard to finish them alone. There are many robatayaki (fireside cooking) restaurants in Hokkaido, but the way they grilled the food here was exceptional. The perfect balance of juiciness, heat, and seasoning made it one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant started with mostly Japanese customers but by the time I left, it was mostly foreigners, which shows how this place introduces Japanese culture to a diverse audience. The fact that it is managed solely by middle-aged Japanese women is impressive. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Continuous business trips before the consecutive holidays, this time to Sapporo. On the first day, I landed in Sapporo in the evening and enjoyed eating and walking around. On the second day, after working diligently, I ate Genghis Khan, which was impressive on the first day. Then, I visited a shop that appeared in a movie scene, with a counter seat surrounding the grill, creating a quaint atmosphere. This is the shop I was looking for! I ordered classic sake and some appetizers, including sashimi and ice fish, along with pickled herring and cabbage. The sashimi, consisting of large button shrimp, scallops, ark shells, and soi, was all very delicious. The ice fish grilled to perfection was also outstanding, with a concentrated umami flavor. I immediately ordered hot sake and was served fresh asparagus as a service, which was also amazing. I found the perfect restaurant!

I made a reservation to eat Hokkaido ingredients grilled on an open hearth. The sailfin sandfish and smelt were delicious. I ordered a hairy crab, but had to call a sister store to have it brought to the restaurant (laughs). I rarely eat hairy crab, so the lady joked, "There's still meat left!" (laughs)

This is my first visit. My mother told me that she had eaten robatayaki in Susukino ten years ago... It would be interesting if we were visiting the same restaurant. Despite it being the snow festival season, I managed to make a reservation at "Utari" here. The restaurant has a splendid appearance and serves delicious robatayaki. While walking down the street, I stumbled upon "Robatayaki Utari" and decided to visit without a reservation. I had to wait a bit, but I was excited to try robatayaki for the first time. During my business trips to Sapporo a few times a year, I decided to enter "Utari" based on the sign and atmosphere, and the strong scent of the famous restaurant filled the silent space, sending shivers down my spine. I asked the female owner for permission to take a photo, and at that moment, the couple next to me also started snapping pictures! The unique tension of a famous restaurant is great. Even though it was close to closing time and I couldn't try most of the main dishes, I was glad to be able to visit even for a short time.
