My friend brought me a souvenir on their way back from their hometown visit. Sweet potato sweets are my favorite, but this one had a twist to it. It looks like a cream-filled bread, but it's actually a sweet potato treat. It is very delicious, but I think it would be just as good without the cream in the middle. The sweetness of the sweet potato is enough, so the cream doesn't overpower it. Maybe it didn't really need to be there.

Visited Meitetsu Department Store's Hokkaido event and found cute and delicious-looking manju to purchase. The "Hokkaido Yuki-n-ko [An Butter]" is a 260 yen sweet bean paste bun measuring 35x35mm with a thickness of 20mm. It is made of sweet bean paste and butter cream wrapped in mochi. The combination of thin yet sticky mochi, a hint of saltiness and richness from the butter, and the mildly sweet sweet bean paste is simply delicious. It's like a Yuki-daifuku but with butter and sweet bean paste instead of ice cream. The shelf life is until the next day after purchase.

The sweet potato cake was not too starchy and had a light taste, making it easy to eat. It didn't sit heavy in the stomach, which was nice. Today's random thoughts: City of London dismissed another big hurdle yesterday, right? I'm happy for them. Starlink in the Australian sky. Project Odin is coming soon. I've stocked up on cat food and water.

I bought it at the supermarket. It had a soft skin, mashed sweet potato, and cream. It was my first time trying this texture. The taste was good and it was a dish I would like to eat again.

While checking around Goryo, I discovered a sweet treat called "Hakodate Yukinko." It consists of sweet potato wrapped in mochi, making it a must-try for sweet potato lovers like myself! It is sold frozen, so it's best to buy a few pieces as they can be quickly consumed. Be careful not to thaw it too much, as the mochi may melt too quickly! Inside the thin mochi is well-mashed sweet potato, with a dollop of fresh cream in the center. I personally prefer it semi-thawed as it reduces the sweetness slightly and gives the cream a nice texture. This is definitely a treat I would buy again when I visit Hakodate!

At Hakodate Airport, before departing, I found a souvenir that I had been curious about for a while. It was being sold frozen, so this time I bought a pack of two for myself to taste. I put them in the refrigerator as soon as I arrived at my accommodation, and the next day I tried them. The mochi was very soft, and when I tried to bite into it, the filling seemed like it would overflow. However, the sweet potato paste, mixed with cream, was very delicious. I think it would be even better if eaten semi-thawed. Since I was planning to meet the person I was giving the souvenir to a few days later, I needed to bring it to my accommodation frozen. Next time, I think I'll buy it with dry ice.

I received the Hakodate City Mayor's Award at my parents' house and tried the Hokkaido Snowman Daifuku, which is individually wrapped in a package that makes you feel the snow of Hakodate. You can enjoy it semi-thawed like ice cream or let it thaw naturally to eat it as a daifuku. When you open the package, you'll find a fluffy and chewy mochi wrapped around a sweet potato filling made with 100% Asabu town-grown sweet potatoes and rich Hokkaido milk. It also contains a lightly sweet whipped cream. Is it a traditional Japanese sweet or a Western sweet? It's a bit different. It melts in your mouth, and the sweet potato and whipped cream go well together. It was delicious!

I went to Hakodate at the end of the year and bought some "Yukinoko" from Kafukudo at the airport. The package has a cute illustration of a snow child on it, just like the name suggests. It comes in individual packaging with 6 pieces inside. It was on sale for 1,050 yen, down from the original price of 1,500 yen. A great deal! I had it packed with a cooling pack and put it in the freezer as soon as I got home. I kept thinking about eating it but ended up snacking on other sweets. Finally, on the night of the 14th, I moved it to the fridge and ate it on the 15th at noon. It was wrapped in mochi with a sweet potato and cream filling. The flavor was rich and creamy, very soothing. It's recommended even for those with a sensitive stomach. I thought we should only have 2 pieces each after a meal, but my husband and I ended up finishing 3 pieces each in no time. Overall, I would give it 4 stars. The taste was satisfying, but the original price of 1,500 yen is a bit high. I would be happier if it was at the sale price of 1,050 yen. I recommend everyone to try "Yukinoko" from Kafukudo, a famous Hakodate confectionery.

The best souvenir I bought on my trip to Hakodate was "Hakodate Yuki-nko". Oh, I want to eat it again (´Д`). It's too painful to remember. It's a light mochi skin filled with Hokkaido sweet potato and a generous amount of light whipped cream. Let me say it again. A generous amount \(^o^)/. It's similar to the Snow Daifuku, but the fluffiness is quite different. I bought it at Hakodate Airport, but it needs to be refrigerated and doesn't last long. I wonder if I can buy it in Tokyo.

The Hokkaido snowman sweet potato gourmet plain flavor is available for delivery. The sweet potato has a subtle sweetness with cream inside. The sweet potato is a white sweet potato, which turns golden and soft when boiled, with mochi containing white bean paste. The cream has a strong flavor despite being a small amount.

I purchased this at Hakodate Airport. I was looking for something unique as a souvenir for my partner, and happened to come across this. In Hokkaido, there is a very famous sweet potato treat in Obihiro, but since I couldn't get it there, I thought this would do. It's a sweet potato dessert with a twist - filled with cream. When I got home and tried it, it was delicious. The sweet potato was moist and subtly sweet, and the cream added a nice touch. Obihiro's version has custard inside, but the cream here was also quite good. I enjoyed it over a few sittings. It was a tasty treat. Thank you for the meal!

Hello. I purchased this at the delicious Hokkaido exhibition at JR Kyoto Isetan during the summer. This shop is located in Hakodate City, Hokkaido. The shops listed on their website are also in the Hakodate area. The sweets from Kafukudo Kitchen are a new sensation in traditional Japanese sweets, with sweet potato filling inside a daifuku mochi. They also sell large-sized sweet potatoes and chilled roasted sweet potatoes at the summer delicious Hokkaido exhibition at JR Kyoto Isetan. Hokkaido is known for its delicious produce, and even sweet potatoes were only grown in the Hakodate area in the past. Due to global warming and improved agricultural technology, sweet potatoes can now be grown in more northern areas as well. When you think of sweet potatoes, you may imagine red-skinned ones like me. However, the sweet potatoes used by Kafukudo Kitchen are actually white. They look so much like regular potatoes that you might mistake them for them. They could be called snow fairies. The main product is the Hakodate Yukinko, which is a small-sized sweet similar to a one-bite daifuku. There are six flavors available (including seasonal ones). The pumpkin and plain flavors I purchased this time are the most normal flavors. It looks like a frozen daifuku. It is recommended to cut it while it is still frozen if you want to show a clean cross-section. When cut neatly, the sweet potato filling inside looks great! As for how to eat it... the sweetness and texture change depending on when you eat it, so find your preference. If the thawing time is short, it has an ice cream-like texture and a light sweetness. When completely thawed, it has a fluffy and sticky texture with a sweeter taste. It's more about personal preference. On hot days, it's delicious to eat it without fully thawing it, like ice cream. However, as a sweet tooth, I preferred the fully thawed version because I could taste the sweetness better. I also purchased the large-sized sweet potatoes, which I will introduce later. Hakodate Yukinko is available on Amazon and Yahoo Shopping, as well as through the official shop. It is also available for purchase through the hometown tax payment system.

A small baked sweet potato from Hokkaido. Maybe they don't grow big because of the cold weather? The sweetness is also mild.

I bought Hakkodate Yukinoko as a souvenir at the Hokkaido Fair. My beautiful wife, who loves cheese, bought a mix of plain and cheese flavors. We enjoyed them at home with cafe au lait, and the cheese flavor was especially delicious!

I like sweet potato snacks, so I was curious about this frozen treat with sweet potato inside. However, the box of 6 pieces seemed more like a souvenir and didn't appeal to me. They were selling the Hakodate Yuki-nko Sakura (216 yen, slightly more expensive than the regular one) at the Marui sweets fair, and the regular ones were also available in packs of 2 (370 yen + tax). This might be worth a try, as my daughter who likes Yukimi Daifuku might enjoy it. The pack of 6 pieces is 1080 yen including tax, so it's a better deal. This sweet treat is made with 100% Sweet Potato from Kousawabe-cho in Hokkaido, mixed with Hakodate milk, using local ingredients from the Doonan region. It's meant to be eaten after naturally thawing, so you can just put an ice pack in and take it home to be ready to eat. Once thawed, it can last in the refrigerator for 2 days. It's incredibly soft, almost too soft to savor properly. It left me with the impression that this is how it's supposed to be, and those who like it will probably enjoy it. My daughter seemed to like it. I hope they continue to do their best with the sweet potatoes from Kousawabe. You can usually buy them at the Marui basement, as well as at New Chitose Airport, Hakodate Airport, and shops selling souvenirs in Hakodate city.
