When I went out to Sapporo, I used "Hotto Motto Hongo-dori Store" for lunch. It is located along Mizuyuan Street and has a parking lot. It was just past 11:30 and there were no customers, so I was able to order right away. The menu is quite extensive. This time, I ordered the new product, Cheese Okaka Nori Bento for 390 yen, and added Cholegi Salad with dressing for 170 yen, making a total of 560 yen. The Cheese Okaka Nori Bento... as I ate it, I felt the cheese flavor was a bit heavy towards the end. The other ingredients are the same as the Nori Bento. In terms of taste and cost performance, the Nori Bento seems to be better. The 60 yen difference is significant, and the Nori Bento was more to my liking in terms of taste. The portion was sufficient, and being able to eat a warm bento is very convenient. Thank you for the meal.

▼Location▼ Located along the Mizuyoshicho Street, it is on the left side after 120m north from the intersection with Hongodori Street. ▼About the Shop▼ Hotto Motto is a major bento chain that was once the largest franchise company of Hokka Hokka Tei, but became independent after a family dispute. It is now one of the largest bento chains. The Hongodori branch opened on October 20, 2015. ▼Menu▼ They offer various bento boxes including meat and fish options. For more details, please visit their website. ▼Food Ordered▼ ▽Karaage Bento (4 pieces) - 390 yen The karaage (fried chicken) pieces in this bento are slightly smaller in size, with a simple soy-based seasoning that has a good flavor with hints of garlic and ginger. The crispy coating has a nice crunch to it. The chicken meat has a good texture and pairs well with the rice. ▼Impressions▼ Hotto Motto is a bento chain that was created after Plenus, the largest franchise company of Hokka Hokka Tei, became independent. They are actively developing new menu items and promotions, evolving as a chain. The Hongodori branch, located next to Chateraise, opened in October 2015. I have been using this branch occasionally since then, especially during busy times. This time, I tried the new Karaage Bento, which has improved with a crispier coating and a new marinating sauce, and it is now 50 yen cheaper at 390 yen. The taste and texture of the karaage have improved, and the lower price is a welcome change. I look forward to continue visiting this shop in the future.

For dinner that day, I was looking for something to go with beer and decided to get takeout from "Hotto Motto". Hotto Motto is a well-known nationwide chain, and this time I visited a store on my way from the Nanago 7-chome subway station to Route 12. When getting takeout from Hotto Motto, it's always best to call ahead to order! I checked the menu online beforehand and called at least 10 minutes before my visit to pick up the food without waiting. The menu is a must-try! I ordered the Zangi Basket for 780 yen, which includes 10 pieces of deep-fried chicken. The Zangi was freshly fried and hot, and I couldn't wait to get home to try it, so I had one in the car as a snack! The Zangi is marinated in a soy sauce-based sauce, giving it a slightly stronger flavor than regular fried chicken. When I got home, I enjoyed it with a beer. For an extra 100 yen, you get a dipping sauce packet and chopped green onions with the Zangi. The combination with beer was excellent. Overall, it was a great experience. The chicken breast is tender with a crispy coating, and the combination of sweet vinegar, tartar sauce, and the texture of the batter creates a delicious flavor. ▼Impressions▼ (April 2017) Hotto Motto, a bento chain that emerged from the split of the former Hokka Hokka Tei franchise company Plenus, is known for its innovative bento menu development and various promotions. The Hongo Street branch opened next to Chateraise in October 2015, replacing the previous Nango Street branch. I personally find it convenient as it is closer to my location. This time, I enjoyed their Chicken Nanban Bento, which is a popular item with a unique taste that I find delicious. It is a bento I would like to enjoy again in the future.

▼Location▼ Located along the Mizuyuji Street, it is 120m north from the intersection with Hongo Street towards Kitago, on the left side. ▼About the Shop▼ Hotto Motto website Formerly a major franchise company of Hokka Hokka Tei, Plenus, after some family troubles, became independent and is now one of the major bento chains. This Hongo-dori branch was opened on October 20, 2015, as a relocated branch from the former Minamigo-dori store. ▼Menu▼ They offer various bento options including meat and fish dishes. For more details, please visit their website. ▼Food Consumed▼ - Sukiyaki Donburi: 490 yen (October 2015) A new dish released during a campaign with double the amount of beef. The beef was of decent quality with a nice texture, accompanied by ingredients like tofu, konjac, and enoki mushrooms. The seasoning was not overly sweet, which was a good impression. ▼Impressions▼ (October 2015) Plenus, which was the largest franchise company of Hokka Hokka Tei, became independent and established this bento chain, now one of the major players in the industry. They actively develop new bento menu items, hold sales, and implement various strategies. The Hongo-dori branch, opened as a relocation from the former Minamigo-dori store, followed Shatorize and opened on October 20, 2015. The bento still maintains its consistent and satisfying taste. It is more convenient now that it is closer than the previous Minamigo-dori store, so I would like to continue using this Hongo-dori branch in the future.

When it gets hot, the symptoms of my designated rare disease worsen, and unfortunately, there is still no medication that fits my condition. I had to be hospitalized for rare disease treatment again in April-May, following stays in September last year and January this year. Your supportive comments were a source of strength for me during my hospitalization, and I am truly grateful. After receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, I couldn't undergo scheduled treatment for two weeks. At the July appointment, it was decided that I would be hospitalized in August, two weeks after completing the second vaccine dose. Prime Minister Suga stated that vaccination for individuals aged 65 and older would be completed by July, but reports suggest that Sapporo aims to finish vaccinating the elderly by the end of August. The Pfizer vaccine is expected to be cut by 10% nationwide, with only 30% of the desired quantity arriving in Sapporo after mid-July. Sapporo has the highest reduction rate at 70%. I hope that mass vaccinations by the Self-Defense Forces will be conducted in Sapporo. Thank you for your continued support. In August 2021, we visited a well-known nationwide chain bento shop called "Hotto Motto." They have stores in all prefectures from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu and Okinawa in the south. The only two prefectures without stores, Tottori and Shimane, have recently opened one. We visited the branch in Hongo, Sapporo, along the Mizuyuji Street in the afternoon on a weekday. We ordered the "Pork Cutlet Curry (590 yen)" and the "Salmon Fried Rice (390 yen)," but the latter was already sold out for the day. The "Pork Cutlet Curry" was quite voluminous, with a hot and freshly fried pork cutlet, slightly thin meat inside, and a mild curry suitable for everyone. It came with spicy spices for adjusting the spiciness and Fukujin pickles. Priced at 590 yen, the "Pork Cutlet Curry" was a decently voluminous and reasonably priced meal. "Hotto Motto" is known for its popular "Nori Bento," and I look forward to trying the sold-out "Salmon Fried Rice" next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On September 6, 2018, a magnitude 7 earthquake hit Hokkaido, mainly in the Iburi region. Even in Sapporo where I live, a magnitude of around 6 was recorded. The earthquake caused power outages across Hokkaido, affecting 2.95 million households. My area in Sapporo also experienced a blackout, with all traffic lights out. It took until the evening of September 6 for power to be restored in my home, but some areas experienced blackouts until the night of September 7. Due to the power outage, supermarkets, convenience stores, and gas stations faced long lines. Even when things started returning to normal on September 8, it was difficult to find food. I came across a "Hotto Motto" store that was open, offering a limited selection of bento boxes. I bought a curry with karaage (Japanese fried chicken) which was delicious and satisfying, considering the circumstances. I appreciate the efforts of retail workers, service industry employees, and many others who worked hard to provide services during this challenging time. Despite the unexpected disaster, I was reminded of the terrifying power of nature and the strength of human resilience. This may not fit the typical restaurant review format, but I wanted to share my experience. Thank you for the meal.
