Visit date: November 17, 2019 For lunch on this day, I visited KuuKuu with a friend. At first glance, I wasn't sure what kind of place it was, but it seemed to be a restaurant. Since it wasn't listed on Tabelog (a restaurant review website), we decided to give it a try. We arrived around 11:45 am and there was one customer before us and two customers after us. We ordered: - Pork bowl for 600 yen - Curry rice for 500 yen The food was served in about 10 minutes. The pork bowl came with miso soup, a side dish, and pickles. On this day, we had sanpei soup and stir-fried cabbage as the side dishes. The pork bowl used pork loin which was quite thick. The overall seasoning was on the lighter side, but I personally prefer stronger flavors. The curry rice also came with sanpei soup and a side dish, which was a tamagoyaki salad with chikuwa. The curry had a slight acidity and the spiciness was mild. It had two pieces of meat that were tender and delicious. I think a milder fukujinzuke (pickles) would go well with this curry. The portion size was just right for a typical women's lunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt like a place for locals to relax. It seemed like all the other customers that day were regulars. The menu mentioned that they are willing to accommodate various requests, even if it's not listed. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.
