I visited "Edo Fuji," the second installment of the "Don Hyakumeiten" series, which is a 7-minute walk from Suitengumae Station. It had been 2 years since my last visit. The weather had warmed up a bit, so I decided to go. I arrived 40 minutes before the opening on a weekday and found a line of over 20 people by the time they opened. I was able to enter as soon as they opened. I ordered the Edo Fuji Bara Seafood Bowl for 2,100 yen. The price had gone up by 500 yen in the past 2 years, but that was to be expected. The bowl was not actually a bowl but a plate, with a generous serving of various fresh seafood such as tuna, yellowtail, sea bream, whale, hirame, kanpachi, firefly squid, sweet shrimp, shrimp, octopus, and negitoro. Each piece was delicious and the variety was impressive. The amount of rice was a bit less than before, which was a bit disappointing. Despite that, I enjoyed it until the last bite. Overall, I think it's worth the price, comparable to a 3,500 yen meal at Tsukiji. If they serve it on a plate, it might be better as a sashimi set meal.

Visited on the weekend. There was a line of about 20 people when the restaurant opened. This popular sushi restaurant is located in Ochanomizu, Tokyo. I happened to pass by the front of the store and was curious because the line was amazing. The signature menu item is a mountainous seafood bowl like Mt. Fuji. It's a bit expensive, but I ordered the "Premium Bara Chirashi Bowl" with the intention of buying the experience. I thought I knew what to expect, but the amount of seafood exceeded my expectations! The seafood was large and had a good texture, and even as an amateur, I could tell it was fresh. I was overwhelmed by the seafood and had a hard time getting to the sushi rice, but the sushi rice was also delicious. The fish soup had a deep and satisfying flavor that paired well with the seafood bowl. Highly recommended.

As a lover of seafood bowls, this restaurant is a must-visit. I walked from Honjo Sanchome Station on the Marunouchi Line, with some ups and downs, and arrived at the restaurant in about 10 minutes. The restaurant opens on Saturdays at 12:00 pm, and I arrived at 11:45 am to find 5 people already in line. As the time approached 12:00 pm, more and more people started to gather in the line. At the opening time of 12:00 pm, there were 16 people in line. Each person was asked for their party size upon opening, and one person was seated at the counter while two were seated at a table. I chose to sit at the counter in front of the chef. The chef was preparing the base sashimi bowl. I ordered the regular sashimi bowl (2,500 yen) and a fish soup (350 yen). While waiting, I observed the restaurant and noticed that the omakase dinner costs 10,000 yen. I also noticed other items on the menu, including drinks, which made me curious about coming back for dinner. As I waited, the sashimi bowl was served. It was a huge portion, almost like a mountain, with delicious toppings. I started with the minced tuna belly and mixed it with soy sauce and seaweed. It was delicious! The menu explained that the bright red topping was whale meat and suggested eating it with ginger. I tried it with ginger, and it was very fresh and tasty. I enjoyed various toppings like bonito, shrimp, scallop, and octopus without being able to identify each one. Finally, the rice was served with wasabi soy sauce and seaweed (surprisingly, it was seaweed instead of nori). It was also delicious. Just as I reached the rice, the fish soup arrived. It was full of green onions and lightly sprinkled with shichimi pepper. The soup had a rich fish broth, soaked in daikon, and had a hint of yuzu fragrance. It was wonderful. I highly recommend ordering the set with the fish soup. I finished eating in about 20 minutes and left the restaurant at 12:30 pm. There were only 2 people waiting outside, surprisingly less crowded than I expected on a Saturday. Next time, I will challenge myself to order the "with sea urchin" option! Thank you for the meal.

Today, I finally visited Edofuji, a restaurant I had been curious about for a while. I arrived about 15 minutes before opening time (11:15) and there was already one person waiting ahead of me. By the time they opened, there were about 8 people in line. I wonder if you could still get in right at opening time now? I ordered the Uni (sea urchin) and assorted sashimi rice bowl for 3900 yen. After a 5-minute wait, the rice bowl arrived with a perfect view of Mount Fuji just like I had heard. The presentation was a bit messy with a separate plate, but the quality of the seafood was excellent! Especially the shrimp and uni were delicious. The bowl was packed with seafood, making it a memorable lunch experience. It might be a hit with foreign friends or visitors.

I visited during lunchtime. I was prepared for a long line, but it seemed like the storm had already passed. Some items were sold out. I was able to slip in just in time. I ordered the mixed seafood (large) dish. There was more variety of ingredients than I had imagined. I couldn't resist taking photos from different angles. The whale meat in particular was incredibly delicious. The sesame seeds on the rice were also outstanding. I am satisfied and full. Thank you for the meal.

Edo Fuji, famous for its large seafood bowls, arrived at Ochanomizu Station by train an hour before opening at around 10:40. I was lucky to be the first in line. As a first-timer, I was unsure of what to do, but the kind lady who was watering the plants outside the restaurant gestured for me to wait on the chairs next to the store (on the slope side). Within 2 minutes of sitting down, five foreign women lined up behind me. By 11:05, there was one more person in line, and after 11 o'clock, two, one, one, and three more people joined the queue. By the time the store opened at 11:30, there were about 20 people waiting. Today, the regular bara chirashi bowl was not available, so I ordered the limited "Bara Chirashi Bowl (Upper)" instead. The condiments included wasabi, ginger, and green onions. The tea on the table was warm even in the middle of summer. If you ask the staff, you can also get water. The bowl arrived promptly after ordering. The amount of seafood piled on top was amazing! The chopped seaweed was almost falling off the bowl, with a generous serving of seafood on top. The prawns on top were large, and all the slices of fish were thick! The tuna, which I love, was thick and moist, and very delicious. The octopus was firm, and the sweet negitoro, hamachi, and salmon were also delicious. There was also some white fish topped with sesame seeds that tasted great. The price was 2500 yen including tax, which is quite a deal considering the quantity. After paying, I stepped outside to find a line forming, as expected. In August, they are open on the holiday tomorrow, Mountain Day on the 11th, and also on Saturdays the 12th and 19th. They will be closed for the Obon holiday from the 13th to the 17th, and will reopen on the 18th. I was so happy to enjoy so much delicious fish! I will definitely come back again. I made a reservation for the 7500 yen per person course over the phone (you can choose between 7500 and 20000 yen apparently). That day, we were the only group there, so it felt like a private dining experience. We had appetizers, grilled fish, bonito straw-grilled rice balls, 10 pieces of sushi (including fatty tuna and sea urchin), miso soup with plenty of clams, and a dessert of plum soda. The menu may vary depending on the season and daily ingredients. It was a very satisfying meal! Thank you. This restaurant is famous for its seafood rice bowl for lunch, but dinner is also highly recommended.

A gourmet friend recommended me to try the seafood bowl at Edo Fuji, which is located about a 7-minute walk from Ochanomizu Station on JR and Tokyo Metro. I went there alone for lunch around 12:20 on a weekday. The restaurant is situated in a residential area with a green exterior. Inside, there are 7 seats at an L-shaped counter, two 4-person tables, and I chose to sit at the counter. There was a Chinese couple on the right side taking photos of their food, a young businessman on the left side, and another couple at a table in the back. The menu offered a variety of toppings for the seafood bowl, and I opted for the Edo Fuji Bara Seafood Bowl for 2,100 yen tax included. I also added a limited fish soup for 350 yen tax included. The seafood bowl arrived in about 5 minutes and was impressively stacked high with a generous amount of various fresh seafood toppings. I enjoyed each topping with wasabi, soy sauce, ginger, and scallions. The highlight was the abundance of negitoro, which was a pleasant surprise. The fish soup was also delicious with plenty of salmon, white fish, scallions, and daikon radish. Overall, the experience at Edo Fuji was fantastic, and I highly recommend their lunch seafood bowl.

I arrived 20 minutes before the usual opening time and was the second group in line. Since the seating is limited, I felt like if you arrive by the fifth group, you can still get in during the first batch. I ordered a chirashi bowl with sea urchin on top, and it was amazing! The slices of sashimi were so thick that I couldn't finish it all (I'm sorry). I would like to get takeout when it gets cooler.

Visited around 1 pm on a regular weekday. Heard that the line and turnover were not good, so I decided to go at a different time and was able to get in easily. There were about 5 people ahead of us, and 2 groups of 4 while we were there, so is this time okay? Ordered the Edo Fuji bara seafood, which was a platter full of various seafood. Asked for less rice, but if you're not worried about carbs, it's better to have the normal amount as there was leftover sushi toppings. The dish was packed with ingredients, to the point where you have to push them aside to get to the rice. The toppings were high-quality and satisfying. Will definitely come back when I have the chance!

I arrived about 20 minutes before the usual opening time and there were 7 people waiting, but I managed to get in on the first round! Everyone dining alone had their own books and seemed well-prepared. It was my first time, so I went with the recommended basic option, a rose seafood bowl with green juice. The seafood bowl was really luxurious with plenty of toppings until you reach the rice. The content and portion were reasonable. The green juice also had a lot of fishiness and small bones, so be careful, but it was rich and delicious. It was worth the wait. When I finished eating and left, there were about 10 people waiting in line outside, so it's better to line up before the opening time.

I heard that there would be a line forming 30 minutes before the opening of the popular seafood bowl restaurant Edo Fuji. I arrived exactly at 12:00, just in time for the first round of customers who had finished eating at 11:30. Surprisingly, there was no line today. The compact interior had an L-shaped counter and two two-person tables. I sat at the only available counter seat, right in front of the chef, feeling a bit nervous. I ordered the most basic "Edo Fuji Bara Seafood Bowl for 2,100 yen including tax." The bowl was filled with fresh tuna, sea bream, and other toppings, arranged beautifully by the chef. The volume of the bowl exceeded my expectations, with a generous amount of sashimi piled on top of the vinegared rice. I struggled to finish it all, but managed to enjoy the various types of fish and toppings. Despite feeling full, I was impressed by the quality and value of the bowl, which was comparable to those in Numazu where I used to live. The location near Kanda Myojin Shrine in Tokyo must attract customers daily.

This is a sushi restaurant called "Edo Fuji" that is famous for its generous seafood bowl piled high like a mountain, which is only available for lunch. It is located between Hongo-Sanchome Station and Ochanomizu Station in Tokyo. It's about a 10-minute walk from Hongo-Sanchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, a 6-minute walk from Ochanomizu Station, and a 7-minute walk from JR Ochanomizu Station. I visited for the first time just before 12:00 on a weekday. There was one person waiting outside. I decided on my order and requested the "Assorted Seafood Bowl" for ¥2,100 and an extra serving of rice for ¥100. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was seated at the narrow restaurant, which has a total of 17 seats including a 9-seat L-shaped counter and two 4-seat tables. I was served tea by myself. The meticulous operation of the quiet head chef is worth watching. The bowl was served just a few minutes later. The extra rice was served in a separate bowl. Under the shredded seaweed and green onions were shrimp, negitoro (minced tuna with green onions), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), hamachi (yellowtail), engawa (fluke fin), sea bream, horse mackerel, whale, tamagoyaki (rolled omelette), and even pickled ginger. Pouring soy sauce into two saucers and adding wasabi and ginger, I enjoyed cutting and eating the sashimi from the tower with rice from the bowl. The whale sashimi, thick and delicious with no fishy taste, was excellent with ginger soy sauce. I may not be able to afford this price for lunch every time, but it's nice to treat myself occasionally. Eating various sashimi while enjoying the vinegared rice, I couldn't help but savor the flavors! The rice disappeared in no time, leaving only sashimi. I resisted the urge to order another bowl of rice and finished by enjoying the remaining sashimi. The value for money exceeded expectations, and I left the restaurant fully satisfied. As I left, there were five people waiting outside. Thank you for the delicious meal! 🍽️

Today I visited this restaurant. Edo Fuji Rose Seafood for 2100 yen with extra large portion for 100 yen. When I arrived around 12 o'clock, there were 8 people waiting outside. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was finally able to be seated. The visual impact is amazing. The dish is flat and the extra large portion is served on a separate plate. There were whale meat, white fish, and other seafood items. The simmered bamboo shoots were also very delicious. If I were to be picky, I wish I had more time to look at the menu and order the fish soup. The portions were larger than they appeared, and it was delicious.

Lunch on a regular weekday in April, arrived at the restaurant at 12:02 with 5 people waiting outside. Note that the turnover is slow. Waited for 20 minutes to get inside, where there were already 2 people waiting. The restaurant has 2 two-person tables and 7 counter seats. I ordered the Edo Fuji bara seafood bowl for 2,100 yen with an extra large rice portion for 100 yen. Additional charges for fish soup (350 yen), new pickled ginger (250 yen), and extra wasabi (100 yen). Received the bowl at 12:35, but by then the bara seafood was sold out. They also stopped offering the omakase option for 3,000 yen to a group of 5 people. The bowl had a variety of ingredients including shrimp, minced tuna, bonito, whale meat, squid, firefly squid, small skin fish, conger eel, yellowtail, and more. The amount of ingredients was generous, so having the extra rice portion served separately was appreciated. Some say the cost-performance ratio has decreased, but for 2,200 yen, it's still a good deal! It would be nice if the miso soup was around 100 yen. Left the restaurant at 12:58.

I visited this restaurant in Ochanomizu because it had high ratings on Tabelog and I had some work nearby. When I arrived at the restaurant on a Thursday in April at 12:30 pm, there were about 5 people waiting in line. The waitress came out and said that the 2,100 yen limited lunch special seafood bowl was sold out. However, they could still serve the 3,000 yen omakase seafood bowl, so I decided to wait. After about 20 minutes, I was able to enter the restaurant. The interior was like a traditional sushi restaurant with a counter for 6 seats and 2 tables. The seafood bowl, priced at 3,000 yen, was truly luxurious. The shrimp and squid were fresh, and the sea bream was thickly sliced. The highlight was the 4 pieces of fatty tuna included in the bowl. There were also eel, gizzard shad, and minced tuna, among others. It was definitely worth the 3,000 yen. The only downside was that the waitress was not very friendly and the service was lacking. She seemed like she wanted to take her lunch break quickly. Perhaps they only planned to serve the 2,100 yen limited lunch until it ran out. Next time, I will go right when the restaurant opens.

I had lunch at this place. The cheapest menu item was the assorted sashimi for 2100 yen. It was still quite empty before 1 pm, and my order came out quickly. The dish was topped with shrimp, tuna, octopus, firefly squid, bonito, yellowtail, minced tuna with green onions, and conger eel, all of which were very fresh and plentiful. I couldn't finish it all, so I felt like even if it was two-thirds of the amount and price, it would still be good. It was delicious.

I had been curious about this sushi restaurant for a while, so I arrived 15 minutes before opening. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a seat on the first round and had to wait for about 30 minutes. I'm not a light eater, but even skipping breakfast, I couldn't finish my meal and ended up leaving about a quarter of it... My husband, who loves seafood bowls, also struggled to finish towards the end. It was my first time having such a large seafood bowl. The sashimi was all very fatty, and for the first time, I felt sick from eating seafood... Towards the end, I got a little tired of it. The portion was too big and I felt bad for not being able to finish it... I wished they offered a half portion. However, I still recommend seafood lovers to visit! You can have a much better value seafood bowl here than at the foreigner-packed area of ○○!

Today I patrolled Yushima. For lunch, I went to "Edo Fuji" as the 7th stop. I arrived at 11:20 AM and there were already 14 people in line. Luckily, there was a group of 3 in front of me, so I got to go in the first round. If I had missed this opportunity, I would have had to wait for about 30 minutes. The menu, other than the regular options, was posted inside the restaurant and seemed quite pricey at first glance. I decided to go for the "Edo Fuji Bara Seafood" for 2,100 yen (tax included). The prices for the other options were too high for me to consider... The toppings increased the price, and the highest priced option with "raw tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin" was a whopping 4,900 yen (shocking)! The fish slices were thick and visually impactful. On this day, the bowl was filled with a total of 13 varieties including shrimp, bonito tataki, sea bream, sardine, negitoro, herring, sweet shrimp, amberjack, whale, oyster, firefly squid, egg, and pickled radish, but they all tasted quite bland. I couldn't really taste the umami of the seafood. Also, the balance between the rice and toppings was a bit off, with not enough rice (laughs). As many have mentioned, the additional options were a bit much... While the separate charges for tea and water were eliminated, miso soup and pickles were still charged separately. It's a bit... you know? It leaves a bad taste. I didn't think it was worth waiting in line for. With this price, I believe I could have eaten anywhere else, and without waiting... My impression is similar to the now-closed Iriya "Saito". More than half of the customers in the first round were from Korea and China. It seems to cater to inbound tourists, but I hope it doesn't follow the same path...
