This is a rare Indonesian Balinese restaurant in Sapporo. They offer Bintang beer, Bali Hai, Arak, and Bali coffee shochu, as well as Japanese beer and cocktails. The menu is not very extensive, but they have popular Balinese dishes such as Martabak, Gado Gado, Lumpia, Ayam Goreng, Nasi Campur, Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, etc. I personally wanted to try the Satay, but unfortunately, the Pisang Goreng was sold out. However, it's not often you get to eat Balinese food in Sapporo, so I was able to enjoy a pleasant time reminiscing about my trip to Bali over 10 years ago.

Last time we did takeout, so this time we visited after watching "Watashitachi wa Otona" at "Satsugeki". Babii Ketchup: 1300 yen, spicy braised pork, but not too fatty. The bone-like thing with the meat is actually lemongrass so you can't eat it (cries). Ayam Goreng: 950 yen (2 pieces), like an ethnic-style fried half-body of "naruto" in Hokkaido. Nasi Goreng: 800 yen, we debate whether to break the fried egg on top of the Nasi Goreng, but can't reach a conclusion. It's rich in flavor with medium-thick noodles. Ebi Sen: Price forgotten, delicious on its own and even better with dip. Great value for money. Next time, we'll drink a lot during Happy Hour, so be prepared. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop I used to frequent a long time ago. A friend recommended it to me for a company drinking party, so I decided to stop by for lunch before my appointment. There aren't many restaurants that serve Indonesian cuisine, so I was excited to try it out. When I entered, I was told to choose any seat I liked, so I sat at the table furthest back. I remember being seated on the second floor when I visited a long time ago. The overall atmosphere is like a tropical resort. The lunch menu offers a choice of three dishes. I ordered Nasi Goreng after a long time. It was so hot that the cold water went down quickly. I finished it in one go. It seemed like there was only one person working at the shop as I could hear the sound of cooking. It was ready in about 10 minutes. And I got a refill of cold water. The sunny-side-up egg on top of the Nasi Goreng seemed different from before. It was a nice touch. I cracked the egg right away. The rice was fluffy. The first bite didn't feel very spicy. The plump shrimp was delicious. The spiciness gradually kicked in. The fried shrimp crackers were tasty. I tried eating it with the rice, and the texture was interesting. It had been a while since I had Nasi Goreng. I'm not sure if it was like this before, but tropical food is great on a hot day. When I paid, I was given a salted candy and told that it's hot, isn't it? Next time, I want to try the noodles.

Visit date: Around 1:00 p.m. on March 12, 2021. My companion wanted to try a dish they had never eaten before. I had heard about a Cuban restaurant where we could try some unique dishes, but it turned out to be closed. After some more searching, I found a Dominican restaurant, but that was also closed. Feeling a bit disappointed, I continued my search and came across "Saram Legian," a restaurant serving Indonesian cuisine. I thought this could be interesting since Indonesian cuisine is not very common in Sapporo, except for places like "La*ai" which serves soup curry. We entered the restaurant, which was empty, and were seated by a female server. The restaurant was playing various songs, including ones by Perfume. We ordered "Nasi Goreng (¥800)" and "Coconut Cooler (¥600)" for myself, and for sharing, "Martabak (4 pieces) (¥630)" and "Pickles (¥500)." My companion ordered "Rendang (¥1400)." The dishes arrived after about 10 minutes. However, I realized that I had ordered Nasi Goreng but received Mie Goreng instead. It seemed like the server might have misheard me when I ordered due to my mispronunciation. The Mie Goreng did not come with a sunny-side-up egg as the Nasi Goreng would have. Also, the toppings on my dish were not as luxurious as shown in other photos of Mie Goreng. The flavor of the yakisoba was on the stronger side, with a slightly spicy taste after the initial sweetness, reminiscent of Worcestershire sauce. The half-cooked sunny-side-up egg added a nice touch to the noodles. The Martabak had a crispy crust and the minced lamb inside was hot and delicious. The pickles served as a palate cleanser had eggs in them. The Coconut Cooler had a good coconut flavor at first, but it faded after a few sips, probably because my taste buds got used to it quickly. I couldn't eat the Nasi Goreng, but considering having rice dishes for dinner, it might have been better to go with noodles. The only downside was that the service was a bit gloomy. I look forward to visiting more unique international restaurants in the future. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain holiday, feeling a bit tired of the usual places, I decided to visit a restaurant that serves Indonesian cuisine, which I don't often come across. The interior of the restaurant was cozy, with a bar-like atmosphere and a mix of counter and table seating. The background music was playing from an FM radio. I ordered the popular "Martabak (4 pieces for 690 yen)" and was tempted by the fried banana but decided to go with a drink instead, choosing the "Coconut Pineapple (600 yen)". The drink arrived first and it was tropical and refreshing, with a perfect blend of coconut milk and pineapple. It reminded me of Okinawa for some reason, bringing a tear to my eye. When the main dish arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The crispy skin of the Martabak was filled with a flavorful mix of ground meat and vegetables, complemented by a sweet and sour sauce. It was unique and delicious, perfect for enjoying with a cold beer. I now know the potential of this restaurant and look forward to trying their lunch menu next time. Thank you for the meal.

It's not the strong or the weak who survive, but those who adapt to change. Charles Darwin's theory is undeniably true. Even when choosing a meal, if you resist change and stick to the same type of restaurant and cuisine, it's a rejection of change. I questioned myself and immediately sought a new food strategy. The days of late autumn warmth were few, but staying still felt somewhat chilly. I sought the tropical heat that would disturb the cold by challenging Balinese cuisine. However, the interior of the restaurant was still cold, and the staff lacked enthusiasm. Even after placing an order, the food took a while to arrive, while the beer was quickly consumed. Finally, I arrived at "Gado Gado." Mixing the warm vegetable peanut salad thoroughly before tasting it, I experienced a unique spiciness I had never encountered before. The "Martabak" wrapped in minced lamb could easily become addictive. Visiting in search of change was not a mistake. Yet, there was no trace of the tropical heat of Asia, only a cold aloofness that lingered. Feeling somewhat unsatisfied, I threw myself into the beginning of the night...

The concept for drinking on this day was Asian. Instead of the usual drinking spots like izakaya, yakitori, and sushi which are more focused on Japanese cuisine, we decided to change it up. It was Saturday at 4:00 PM, and starting drinking on a holiday early is nice. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very nice, although a bit chilly maybe because it was still early. The owner was also quite cool, almost cold. We started with beer, which was on happy hour until 7:00 PM, so it was cheaper. I think it was around 30% off, but I forgot. For our order, we got Gado Gado (warm vegetable peanut salad), Lumpia (fried spring rolls), and Martabak (grilled minced lamb). Mixing the ingredients in Gado Gado was spicy and delicious. The Lumpia didn't have much of an ethnic feel, more like Chinese spring rolls. But the highlight of the day was Martabak, it was incredibly delicious and addictive. All the dishes here were really good. However, the service was slow due to being short-staffed. There were no other customers when we went, so I wonder how they handle peak hours. Maybe they will have extra help then. As a couple more customers arrived, we decided to leave. I'll come back next time aiming for Martabak again.

I visited this place a long time ago, but I revisited after a long time! Surprisingly, they were open on Sunday night when not many places are. First, the drinks. They have a wide variety of options! There are many drinks that you don't usually see. Next, the food menu! Honestly, just looking at it doesn't give you an idea of the taste haha. I ordered Pickles, Sambal Bu Ayam Chicken Salad, Rendang Beef Stew. The Rendang spice is strong and it's spicy. But the taste is addictive! The side dishes are also very spicy haha. The Sambal Bu Ayam is delicious! The refreshing, slightly sour dressing goes well with it! I would like to visit again!

On Friday night, I was looking for a quiet place to hang out. I found a suspicious-looking restaurant and decided to check it out. Inside, there was only one other group of customers. I ordered a beer and waited for my companion. We ended up ordering a plate of assorted snacks, a bottle of wine, and even a bottle of Martaba. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant was run by a straightforward lady, so I felt like it might get crowded and take a while to get served. They only accept cash for payment.

I love the nights in Sapporo. Having dinner, drinking at a bar, feeling great. It was around 11:30 at night, walking back to the hotel. Then I caught a nice Asian scent. It seemed to be coming from a place called Salam Legian. It was a lovely antique-style shop, although it was dark and hard to see. Decided to pop in for a bit. They had counter seats too, which was nice. Started with a Sapporo beer. And for snacks, I tried Martabak for the first time. It's a baked wrap with minced lamb. It was my first time trying Martabak! The minced lamb was juicy and delicious, with no gamey taste. The outer layer was crispy like a spring roll. It went perfectly with the beer! Salam Legian has a wide variety of menu options, mostly authentic Indonesian and Balinese cuisine. It's a shame to just come for drinks. I'd like to visit again for dinner next time.

I was taken to a hidden space in July 2018, but it was so hot and humid! Now I miss that heat (^_^;) All-you-can-drink for 2000 yen, with grilled corn, edamame, and rice crackers. The lineup seems to change depending on the season. The gin and tonic was too sweet. The counter had a nice atmosphere. It has cooled down now, so maybe it's time to go again? Thank you for the meal!

I ordered rendang with a drink for 1500 yen. This is my second time visiting, and it seems like they only had pork rendang today since there was no beef. I have never seen any other customers besides myself, so it might be a hidden gem where you can quietly enjoy your meal. Thank you for the meal!

Located on a one-way street facing west, just south of Tanukikoji Street, this Balinese restaurant has a narrow entrance but a deep interior with a tropical atmosphere. I've been here a few times before starting using Tabelog, but this visit is after a long time. The menu is limited but offers various unique dishes. We ordered the "Nasi Campur Plate (1,410 yen)," "Mie Goreng (780 yen)," and "Ayam Goreng (900 yen)" to share with my wife. The female staff running the place alone, so it took some time for the dishes to be served. All the dishes were delicious, but the crispy skin of the "Ayam Goreng" chicken was especially tasty. Some dishes are spicy, so be sure to check the menu carefully if you're not a fan of spicy food. The prices may be a bit high, but I think it's a good choice for those who have never tried Balinese cuisine.

Slightly off from Tanuki Koji. For the second party, one member from the first party left, and a new person joined, making a total of 8 people, including an enthusiastic old man, three gentlemen, and four beautiful female reviewers representing Hokkaido. This place is where I came before starting my food blog. At that time, I came with a friend and enjoyed Indonesian cuisine. I remember having delicious Nasi Goreng. This time, it was a second-party course with light snacks and all-you-can-drink. The interior of the restaurant gives off a Bali, Indonesia vibe, but it's very hot inside! The doors and windows are wide open, but it's still hot! Maybe it's because of the lively atmosphere or just the heat (laughs). We had fun chatting, eating grilled edamame, and enjoying a pleasant time. I'll definitely come back to enjoy Indonesian cuisine next time. Thank you for the meal!

From Korea, we had a second party with 7 people at a stylish restaurant in Bali. The atmosphere was nice, but it was very hot inside. The drink-all-you-can plan for 120 minutes with 3 snacks cost 2000 yen. The snacks were tasty, especially the spicy edamame. The restaurant was welcoming, but maybe not so much for large groups. Overall, it was a good experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is filled with a mysterious charm and exotic Japanese vibes. The owner exudes a presence reminiscent of Sayaka Takagi. Despite some delays due to various circumstances at home, we finally arrived at Salam Legian. It seemed like everyone had finished eating by the time we got there, but we managed to enjoy some leftovers. I couldn't help but think that there is luck in leftovers, but it's still best to start eating as soon as the food is served. The edamame, corn, and shrimp senbei were perfect for nibbling while having a drink. The senbei, a common Asian snack, was crispy and fluffy from being fried in oil. The edamame had a slight spicy tomato flavor, while the corn had a tomato-based slightly spicy taste. All three were great for snacking, but I also wanted to try the main dishes next time. Overall rating 3.2: Taste 3.0, Service 3.2, Atmosphere 3.4, Value for money 3.5, Drinks 3.2. Address: South 3 West 6, Minami 3-jo Nishi 6, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Salam Legian, Balinese cuisine. ☆☆☆ Next episode preview ☆☆☆ I'm curious about their lunch menu, but it seems like a nice place to casually drop by for a light meal.
