KANON, a popular pancake restaurant near Tozai Line Higashi-Sapporo Station, has opened its second branch on the 7th floor of Sapporo Marui Imai Odori Building. The restaurant is always crowded, and being the first time in a department store, it is expected to be even busier. I arrived 10 minutes early and was able to enter as the 7th customer in line. I ordered the "Eggs Benedict" (1,760 yen) and a "Cold Japanese Tea" (set price 550 yen). The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, with a perfect balance of runny egg and tangy Hollandaise sauce. The cold Japanese tea, an original blend by Ochadokura, complemented the pancakes well. It's convenient to be able to enjoy their pancakes in a department store without having to travel to the outskirts.

I have visited the main store in Higashi Sapporo several times, but this was my first time at this branch. I arrived about 10 minutes after opening on a weekday and was able to be seated right away as there were only 2 customers ahead of me. I ordered the Shine Muscat pancake and cold Japanese tea. The Shine Muscat was refreshingly sweet and paired well with the cream cheese cream, making it delicious. I used a Mitsukoshi Isetan app restaurant coupon expiring at the end of August to get a 1000 yen discount on my meal. I enjoyed being able to relax and have tea while looking at the TV Tower, so I would like to visit again on a weekday.

After finishing up some errands, I decided to treat myself to a snack and came to this place where I had previously given up due to the long line. This time, I was able to enter without waiting. I was seated at a table with a nice view as I was told to choose any seat I liked. It had been a while since I last visited the shop in Higashi-Sapporo, so my memory was a bit fuzzy. Looking at the menu, I couldn't remember the prices at the main store, but they were similar to those at the department store. I ordered the simplest pancake and a cold tea. I knew that it would take some time for the pancake to be ready, so I waited while enjoying the view. The TV tower was clearly visible, which I thought would please tourists. Perhaps because it wasn't too crowded, the tea arrived first, and about 7 minutes later, the pancake was served. It was white and fluffy. I was told to help myself to the maple syrup on the table. I started by trying the pancake without any toppings. It was slightly sweet and melted in my mouth. Next, I tried it with butter and honey. The combination of saltiness and sweetness was delicious. The cream was mildly sweet and melted as well. When I poured the maple syrup on, it created a fizzy sensation. The cold green tea had a subtle sweetness and a hint of bitterness, which was very comforting. The pancake was so fluffy that I could easily finish two pieces without any trouble. The view was great, and the pancake was light. However, the bill was not so light - it came to over 2000 yen for the pancake and tea.

Marui Imai 7th floor has opened a second store!! The pancakes are fluffy but not too heavy. It's just the way I like it. However, the first store is quite far away... so I'm happy that they opened one in Odori. I chose plain pancakes with cold milk. The plain pancakes come with butter, honey, and whipped cream. The whipped cream is refreshing and delicious. The view is nice, and they welcome solo diners, so there's nothing to complain about. (Although it's a bit pricey)

I tried fluffy pancakes made with Hokkaido rice flour at a cafe. They were not too sweet and delicious. It is the second store of Canon Pancakes in Higashi Sapporo. You can enjoy a view of the TV tower from the window seats. The atmosphere was calm. I think it may not be very suitable for families with children. It was a place to enjoy quietly.

I have visited Canon Pancake several times and it is my favorite pancake shop. I was eager to visit Cafe Canon as well, and finally I was able to go with my friends. It was quite crowded, but luckily when we went, a window seat was available. The Mont Blanc pancake was incredibly delicious. It was so soft that when I tried to take a picture, the Mont Blanc fell over. I want to come back again.

Kanon, located in Higashi-Sapporo, has a store in Marui Imai. The fluffy texture, mildly sweet cream, buttery saltiness, and sweet honey all complement each other very well and taste delicious. Personally, I recommend eating it with the maple syrup provided on the table.

※Today is the beginning of the month, so there will be more draft processing than usual, please understand and enjoy the hustle and bustle! For dinner, I had yakiniku in Susukino! It's not a personal tour day, but if you're staying in Sapporo using JR, it's a great opportunity to explore before enjoying some yakiniku! I went to the newly opened pancake shop at Marui Imai Odori Building called "Canon Pancakes". This is their second store, with the main store being in Kikusui, which was a bit out of the way and pricey, so I never had the chance to go. However, thanks to Zavi's information, I found out they were offering a 20% discount on three types of pancakes for their grand opening, so I decided to check it out! It was almost evening and nearly 80% of the seats were taken. It seems that word has spread about the opening in the past week. I compared the menu with the main store at a glance and ordered the "Mont Blanc (¥1760→1408)" from the menu not listed there. The view from the 7th floor is amazing...I was lucky to be seated by the window overlooking the TV Tower and Le Trois! When I use a department store restaurant, I always want to sit by the window. The pancake took about 20 minutes to be ready. It was thicker than I expected, with two pancakes topped with Mont Blanc. The pancakes were made with 100% rice flour, giving them a gentle flavor. They were not stacked in two layers, but placed half on top of each other, which added to the presentation! While I'm not a big fan of meringue-like pancakes, these had a unique texture. They were soft and slightly elastic, melting in the mouth without losing their shape. The Mont Blanc cream was wrapped in whipped cream, custard cream, and warm chestnuts, adding a touch of saltiness and a rich texture. The balance of sweetness was just right, making it enjoyable even for those who don't like overly sweet desserts. If you want to enhance the sweetness, Gyanion's maple syrup is provided at each table for flavor variation! The price for two pancakes without a drink was a bit... but considering pancakes are generally expensive, it's not too bad. Since the second store of this popular shop has opened in a convenient location, I think it will also become popular in no time! It was a delicious meal.

【cafe KANON】I had a good impression of the main store from over a decade ago, recommended by a towel shop I visited. It seems quite busy, but when I mentioned I was alone, I was seated at a single table right away. I decided on the "Berry and Mascarpone Pancakes" - a safe choice with a nice combination of flavors. The pancakes were fluffy and a bit hard to cut with a knife. The Earl Grey tea was average, but I appreciated that it was served in a pot. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere while looking at the view outside. It seemed like they were still getting the hang of things since they had just opened, as the ordering process took a bit longer. The wait for the food was expected, especially for pancakes. However, there was a lady who seemed impatient and kept asking the staff how much longer she had to wait. Overall, it might be a good idea to visit when you have both time and patience.

KANON PANCAKES, a popular pancake shop in Kikusu, opened its second branch. Despite its year-round popularity, the place was not crowded when I visited, which was a bit disappointing. The new branch is located on the 7th floor of Marui Imai Sapporo, called "cafe KANON," which quietly opened on April 26, 2023. The interior had a few tables and a small staff of about 5 women. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a view of the spring sky and the TV tower. The menu included various pancakes, Eggs Benedict, hot sandwiches, cheesecakes, drinks, and alcohol. I ordered the plain pancake with a 20% discount coupon and a hot coffee set. The coffee was a bit bitter for my taste, but paired well with the sweet pancake. The pancake took about 45 minutes to be served, so be prepared for a wait if the place is full. The pancakes were small but fluffy, made with 100% Hokkaido Kirara rice flour. They were served with butter, cream, and honey, and tasted delicious when combined with maple syrup. Kikusu's restaurant has a rating of 3.58 on Tabelog, with many positive reviews. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.
