Oh, suddenly feeling hungry. "I want katsudon." So, we ended up at Wasco. Even though katsudon alone would be filling enough, I have a habit of wanting to add extras. Plus chawanmushi. Just a delicious regular katsudon. I like the loose katsudon, but this one that isn't too loose is also delicious. I was happy to see that the miso soup had clams instead of tofu or seaweed. It really hit the spot after a long day. The family who ordered rice at Wasco seemed satisfied, saying "the rice is delicious."

The miso soup had clams as the ingredient, but they were very small, indicating that this restaurant is not from Hokkaido where clams are usually served in larger sizes. The shredded cabbage was cut very thinly but still had a good crunch to it. The warabi mochi was quite sweet. I just realized while writing this review that the chawanmushi, which should have been included in the menu, was missing! I didn't notice it at the time. What a mistake... Update on 6/28/2023: I emailed about the missing chawanmushi and received an apology call from the manager, who offered a full refund. I felt that was too much, so I accepted a 200 yen refund in place of the chawanmushi, and adjusted my rating accordingly.

I visited for dinner after about 3 years and 3 months. This time, I ordered "Rosu Katsu Gohan." It's great that you can have unlimited rice, cabbage, and miso soup. The rice is delicious, so I ended up eating a lot. It goes perfectly with the katsu, which is also delicious. The freshly fried crispy coating is great. I want to come back to eat here again. The squid fry is also tender and easy to chew. The cheese minced cutlet is creamy. The flavors are not particularly special, but they are naturally delicious as they are freshly fried. Considering the free refills, it is reasonable. Wa-Kou is known for its tasty rice.

It wasn't very crowded, so I was able to eat calmly. I had the Ladies' Set Meal for 1580 yen, which included a bite-sized pork cutlet, cabbage croquette, shrimp fry, eggplant fry, steamed egg custard, warabi mochi, rice, miso soup, and free cabbage refills. I was full and satisfied!

There were many restaurants lined up, and I decided to try a tonkatsu restaurant that I had never been to before. The restaurant was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. I ordered the "Washoku Gohan" set with loin cutlet, rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. The miso soup with small clams was flavorful, and the tonkatsu had a crispy coating with tender meat inside. The rice was my favorite type, and I enjoyed the meal. I look forward to trying the shrimp fry next time!

In June 2021, I tried a new restaurant for takeout instead of my usual go-to, "Wako," which I typically visit at the department store basement. This time, I had some business in the "Susukino" area, so I bought food from a different restaurant. "Wako" always offers reliable tonkatsu, which is reasonably priced and convenient as a home-delivered side dish. In Sapporo, people used to go to "Tamafuji" for tonkatsu, but "Wako" made it more convenient. Of course, if you want to eat tonkatsu at a restaurant, "Katsuya" is the place to go. (laughs) "Rosu Katsu" and "Aji Fry" are our regular favorites at home. It's our go-to dish, and we never get tired of "Wako's" tonkatsu. It's a staple for our easy meals at home.

The pork cutlet was delicious and I enjoyed it with the rice. I ended up having three servings of rice, two servings of miso soup, and one serving of cabbage because I couldn't resist. This Paul Town Sapporo store offers both dining and takeout. I visited with my usual companion after a long time when I came to Sapporo's underground shopping area. This store is located in the Haku-no area of Chuo-ku, Sapporo, inside the Sapporo underground shopping area "Paul Town." Please check the exact location of the store on Tabelog. It was a visit around 11:30 am on a weekday. The interior of the store is a casual tonkatsu restaurant. Perhaps because it was early, there were still few customers. We were able to sit at a table right away. There are about seven weekday lunch menus. The set meal includes unlimited rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. I ordered the weekday lunch "W Wako Rice." My usual companion hesitated but ended up ordering the same weekday lunch "W Wako Rice." After eating lunch at Arinko, I saw this shop so I decided to have tonkatsu for dinner tonight. I ordered a special loin cutlet as a single item since I cooked rice in the morning and didn't bring a bento. Shredded cabbage and tonkatsu sauce are included as a service. It was warmed up in a toaster until the surface became crispy. The pork loin inside the batter is a bit thick. It was a generous portion. Thank you for the meal.
