I visited Nishikawa Seikatei, a confectionery shop located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. It is about a 4-minute walk from Futako-Tamagawa Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, situated in the Futako-Tamagawa shopping street. The shop has a traditional Japanese confectionery store appearance. Established in 1967, it is a local favorite that still attracts many customers. I purchased the following items this time: - Daifuku (mochi with sweet bean paste filling) was priced around 130-140 yen. It was reasonably priced. The mochi had a chewy texture with plenty of azuki beans inside. The sweet bean paste was not too salty. - Kuzumochi (cherry blossom-flavored mochi) - Kuzuyoukan (young leaf-flavored jelly) - Mitarashi dango (rice dumplings in sweet soy sauce) was also around 110 yen, making it an affordable option. The small size had a nice balance of caramelized surface and sweet bean paste. The mochi was soft and chewy. - An-dango (sweet bean paste-filled dumplings) Overall, it was a delicious experience.

After Sunday lunch, I stopped by "Nishikawa Seika Shop" on my way home. I always see it bustling with customers, so I wanted to check it out. I bought the following items for home: - Mame Daifuku ¥162 - Mame Mochi ¥151 - Kuzuzakura ¥162 The Mame Daifuku has a subtle saltiness, allowing you to enjoy the flavors of the red bean paste and beans. The Mame Mochi lets you savor the chewy texture. The Kuzuzakura looks refreshing. The prices are very reasonable for Futakotamagawa. I would love to visit again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the delicious treats.

Despite being a small and unassuming shop, this traditional Japanese confectionery store always seems to have customers coming and going. I had been curious about it for a while, and finally tried their zunda (sweetened edamame paste) treats. The aroma of zunda spreads gently when you take a bite, and it tastes delicious. The store itself has an old-fashioned charm and a humble atmosphere, focusing on the quality of their products. It's no wonder that it is beloved by locals. I've decided that I will definitely be going back for more!

Whenever I stop by this area, I always buy souvenirs like Mitarashi dango and An dango. They are reasonably priced and very delicious. The taste is comforting and reliable, just like in the old days. It's a popular shop, so sometimes they are sold out. Today, I bought Kuzu Sakura Mitarashi dango and An dango. As always, I enjoyed them very much.

A traditional Japanese confectionery shop located near Futakotamagawa Station on the Tokyu Denentoshi Line and Tokyu Oimachi Line. On a hot day, I tried the Mizuyokan for 162 yen. It had a nice balance of smoothness and sweetness from the red bean paste. The Mitarashi Dango for 118 yen was a bit hard the next morning, but I liked the texture. It gave a sense of comfort. The Inari Sushi for 97 yen was a good size and had a nice level of sweetness. Overall, the prices include tax.

On Saturday afternoon, I used it to buy souvenirs for my family. The store had just opened, so there were many products displayed. I bought mitarashi dango, anko dango, and sakuramochi. As a fan of Japanese sweets, all of them were delicious and amazing! The dango, in particular, was perfectly grilled, with a crispy and chewy texture that was fantastic. The prices were around 100 yen per piece, which is very reasonable. They are suitable for souvenirs. I definitely want to try the daifuku next time. I will definitely visit again.

In a corner of the shopping street that exudes a long-established aura even before Futako Tamagawa was redeveloped, this traditional Japanese confectionery shop is always bustling with customers from early morning on holidays. Their Mitarashi Dango, with small, fragrant dumplings that are crisply grilled, offers a perfect balance of the burnt bitterness on the surface, the chewy and stretchy sweetness of the mochi inside, and the rich, miso-like sweet bean paste. Shaved ice will be available soon too!

It's a bit far from Futakotamagawa Station, about 5-6 minutes walk. On a Sunday afternoon, there were 2-3 people in line. I bought for the first time. Mitarashi dango is ¥110, Kusa mochi is ¥150, which is reasonable. They also have inari sushi and sekihan. The filling of Kusa mochi has a refreshing sweetness. You can eat as many as you want~ haha. The size of the Mitarashi dango is just right and delicious!! I might become a regular customer for this place ♡

On this weekend day, I had some errands to run in Futakotamagawa. Although I usually only go to Takashimaya and Rise in this area, I had some time so I decided to explore the area behind Takashimaya. I discovered this shop, an old-fashioned Japanese confectionery shop established in 1967. They sell items such as dango, daifuku, inari sushi, nori rolls, and onigiri at reasonable prices. Similar to the shops I love like Zakkushi and Iseya in Yaguchiwatari, this shop is very down-to-earth. There was a line forming in front of the shop, but I love these kinds of places. I waited in line and bought their signature mitarashi dango and daifuku. Looking at the wrapping paper, it seems they have shops in Ikegami and Oimachi as well, although I have never seen them before. I ate the mitarashi dango in a nearby park, and it had a dense texture and a firm bite. The sauce was slightly sweeter than my preference, but the crispy char on the dango was fragrant. Overall, it was a very delicious mitarashi dango. The daifuku, which was accidentally confiscated by my friend, was also apparently very delicious. Next time, I want to try their inari sushi and nori rolls.

Would you like to try visiting a stylish restaurant in Futako Tamagawa? For more details, please see the following blog article: https://katsuq.com/blog-entry-585.html Behind Takashimaya in Tamagawa Takashimaya, there is a "Futako Tamagawa Shotengai" that exudes a Showa era atmosphere, and in this shotengai, there is a Showa-style "Nishikawa Seika Store". In the showcase, there are cheap and delicious Japanese sweets, futomaki, and nigiri. Inside the store, there is a colored paper from the comedian Tsurubei Katsura, so when I asked the staff about it, they mentioned that it was a colored paper given to them by Tsurubei Katsura, who met them before when a mother who resembled Tsurubei Katsura appeared on a TV show and laughed.

I stopped by at 10:30 am on Sunday. I really wanted to eat their ohagi, so I brought my wife along ^^; There was only one customer before us, so we were served quickly. I ordered the zunda ohagi for 151 yen and the sweet red bean ohagi for 151 yen. They looked delicious♪ We ate them at the seating area near Futako Tamagawa Station. The sticky rice wrapped in smooth sweet bean paste had a refined taste, different from the ohagi my grandma used to make. Personally, I prefer the zunda flavor, with a hint of saltiness that I love! Zunda mochi is common, but zunda ohagi is rare. For a traditional Japanese confectionery shop, the quality of the sweet bean paste is crucial, and this shop nailed it (o^^o) They are usually closed by the time I finish work, so I'm glad I could seize this opportunity this time. Thank you for the delicious treat♪

I got off at Futako Tamagawa and the first place I headed to was here. A traditional Japanese sweets shop located behind Takashimaya. The atmosphere around here is really old-fashioned. Oh, they have the bean daifuku that Mairebi-san also eats! I'll try that! Oh, they also have mitarashi dango! I'll have that too! I enjoyed them at home. The daifuku is plump and looks like it's full of good luck. The mochi is chewy and the beans inside roll around. The beans don't have much flavor. I wish there was a bit of saltiness. The red bean paste inside is sweet, but there's a lot of mochi. It seems like it would be very filling! The mitarashi dango has a nice charred feeling as if it was grilled over charcoal. The sauce is thick and sweet and savory. Quite intense. It really hits the spot! Daifuku x5 for 140 yen each, mitarashi dango x2 for 100 yen each, total 972 yen. Even though it's Futako Tamagawa, the prices are very affordable! I was impressed by that! The shop owner was also very nice! A personal Japanese sweets shop in Futako Tamagawa, I hope they continue to do well! Oh, I just noticed while writing this review and adding comments to the photos. Huh, Tamagawa branch? They also have Kami-Ikebukuro and Oi branches? Oh, it's a chain! On this day, I was doing a review tour with Tabelog on the Tokyu Denentoshi Line as part of my quest to conquer 100 famous bread shops. I didn't write reviews for the shops I visited that day! I visited so many places that I couldn't cover them all in one day at a single station. There are so many bread and sweets shops in Tokyo, it's amazing. I also went to a bakery at Nikotama, but it was closed for the day. That's my only regret... This was the starting point of that journey. Japanese sweets shops have early opening hours, which is really convenient!

It seems like an old-established shop, so it sells quite well since the opening. Sometimes it sells out by the afternoon. Personally, I like the daifuku (rice cake filled with sweet bean paste) and often buy it. I prefer the type with a chewy texture that uses mochi rice instead of the soft mochi powder from convenience stores or big chain stores. I also like bean-filled rice cakes, but I think daifuku is the best.

In Futakotamagawa, while passing by the popular Japanese confectionery shop "Nishikawa Seikatei" where there was a line, I decided to stop by on my way back. It was past 2 pm and there were still a few people waiting in line. Unfortunately, the Mitarashi and Andango were already sold out, as well as the Inari-zushi and Nori-maki. The shop seems to be very popular! I bought the following items: - Mame Daifuku (red bean paste) for 140 yen - Ohagi (red bean paste) for 151 yen The mochi in the Mame Daifuku was delicious, and the red bean paste was very tasty. The red bean paste in both the Ohagi and Mame Daifuku had slightly different sweetness levels, with the Ohagi being slightly less sweet. The balance between the mochi made from mochigome and uruchimai rice and the red bean paste was perfect. The shop has been in business for about 50 years, and it seems like they have maintained the same delicious flavors over the years. I've been leaning towards Japanese sweets over Western sweets lately, and the Mame Daifuku and Ohagi here were really delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I finally got to try the bean daifuku, bean mochi, and anko mochi that I couldn't buy last time. Other people were buying a lot of bean daifuku and anko mochi. The bean daifuku had a light sweetness without any saltiness, so you could eat as many as you wanted. It seems like the ones with anko inside are popular, as they even sell the anko separately.

*Waiting time* No wait after 2:00 PM on 12/31 *Order & Price* Mochi (rice cake) set for 1,620 yen on 1/2 *Atmosphere* Not mentioned *Service* Accepts payment with Setapay *Impression* When I received it, it still had a faint warmth to it. When I tried it, it was soft and had a smooth texture, very delicious. It feels like there are no unnecessary ingredients added. *Expectations* I'm glad I could eat freshly made mochi because I always feel like store-bought mochi is watery.

I tried the Mitarashi dango and it was the best one I've ever had. The outside is slightly firm from being grilled, while the inside is soft and chewy. The Mitarashi sauce is rich and salty with a sweet taste that I ended up liking, despite not being a fan of sweet things.

I visited late at night, so there were only a few left, but I tried zunda ohagi, koshian ohagi, and tsubuan ohagi. They were not fluffy but had a satisfying filling and were not too sweet, which was great. They were also very affordable, so I want to go back soon and try more. The inarizushi was also cheap, small, and refreshing, and delicious.

I avoided visiting on weekends because of the long lines, but decided to go on a weekday morning. There were some customers, but I was able to buy quickly. I got one bean daifuku and two bean mochi. The bean daifuku had whole red bean paste and was delicious and a good size. The bean mochi was also large. I ate one as is, and it was tasty. I tried the other one slightly grilled with soy sauce, and it was very delicious. This was my lunch today, and it cost around 400 yen for all three. The pricing is very reasonable. This is a great shop for everyday use. I wish there was a shop like this near my home.
