This is Kushiro, I came from Bihoro. In the morning, I was rejected by one store after another, so I escaped to the reliable Washo Market. There are still some stores I haven't written about yet, and next is "Kimura Fresh Fish Store." What caught my eye was "Aozoi." I like Aozoi. Do you all know what Aozoi is? There are black, striped, and true Aozoi among them. It's a pretty tough fish with a grotesque face and slimy skin. Well, it's a big Soi, already filleted. I think it's quite a big one. I saw the same Aozoi at another place, but it was big. What is this guy thinking? He's a fishmonger himself, but he's used to it. No store will give in, but they gave me ice here. I think Soi is bigger and has a moist texture. The next day, I had octopus and carpaccio. Oh, white wine goes down so easily. It disappeared in no time. After that, I had shochu with hot water. Does it go well with carpaccio? I ate it with strong wasabi. Anyway, it was delicious. I made a mistake in choosing the plate for this carpaccio. It doesn't look good at all. I should have used a darker plate.

In February 2021, we visited the Wacho Market, where we have over 400 registered restaurants. If we hadn't restricted ourselves from drinking, we would have easily surpassed 1000 by now, and I regret it. This time, we went to Kimura Fish Store to buy ingredients for a drinking party at my partner's family. Last time we bought tuna at Ishiyama Store, but this time there wasn't much good quality available, so we bought fresh scallops at Ishiyama and beautiful tuna fillets at Kimura. The prices for fresh tuna are really high, so we opted for frozen tuna fillets. I've always loved the taste of fresh tuna fillets ever since I discovered their true flavor when I lived in Chiba. So, as usual, it's time for some Japanese cooking practice. We bought the thawed tuna fillets and scallops, and as always, we cut them into sashimi and sushi portions, as well as into sticks for seaweed rolls. With the amount we purchased, we made two sashimi plates, 4 scallop sushi pieces, and 8 tuna sushi pieces, as well as seaweed rolls with 2 scallops and 4 tuna sticks. The total cost was 2400 yen, which is only 600 yen per person for four people. It looks delicious, and it tastes delicious too! It's amazing how the frozen tuna tastes just as good as fresh, thanks to the way it was thawed. The market experience is always great, and I hope they continue to thrive. We'll definitely be back.
