I stopped by for a connection before my express bus departure. I wonder if they are open from noon on weekends. There were no other customers, so I went to the counter and enjoyed a Hoppy drink after a long time. I forgot to order any dishes other than fried skewers, but the smoked food was delicious. The nights in Hakodate are long, and we ended up at our third bar for some drinks. We decided to have some udon at Kushikatsu Tanaka to sober up. However, we ended up having two drinks each and enjoying some kushikatsu as well. In the end, we spent about 10,000 yen. The taste was consistent with other branches nationwide. Kushikatsu Tanaka in Hakodate was quite interesting. Thank you for the meal.

I have been to several locations of Kushikatsu Tanaka and they all have a similar good vibe. I also tried their takoyaki and it was good, with a low-carb batter. The katsu udon was also delicious.

I went to Kushikatsu Tanaka for some solo drinking. I started with a glass of draft beer, Pré-Mort, for 399 yen. The skewered dishes I ordered were fried pork, lotus root, and ham cutlet with pickled ginger, which I love. During happy hour until 6 pm, I had two highballs for only 50 yen each. I also added some quail eggs and eggplant for a quick and satisfying meal. The total bill came to 1571 yen, which is quite affordable!

I went to Goryokaku for the first time since February to check out the Goryokaku-machi Open Terrace, which is trying to liven up the area. I saw that they were having an event when I arrived around 4 o'clock. I don't drink much alcohol, so I don't usually go to places that serve appetizers. I thought about having about five skewers of kushikatsu here, but the 250 yen appetizer (cabbage?) made it a bit expensive. With two people having five skewers of kushikatsu and oolong tea, it came out to 2,728 yen. There were some good deals on alcohol, so if you're planning on drinking, it might be worth it. The kushikatsu had a thick batter.

During my stay at my parents' house, I had a sudden craving for "kushikatsu" (deep-fried skewers) and I finally decided to visit a kushikatsu restaurant that I had been wanting to go to for a while. When I arrived, I misunderstood the sign outside that said "all-you-can-eat" as a regular menu, but the staff clarified that it was for reservations only. So, I decided to order individual items instead. This restaurant, Kushikatsu Tanaka, does not allow double-dipping in the sauce, so I used the cabbage provided as a side dish to scoop up the sauce. I started with a platter of five kushikatsu items (shrimp, onion, lotus root, beef, and pork) along with a premium malt beer. The sweetness of the onion and the texture of the lotus root paired well with the sauce. The beef and pork kushikatsu were also delicious. The shrimp was best when partially dipped in sauce and then topped with tartar sauce. I enjoyed the contrast of flavors. After enjoying these, I tried other kushikatsu items like scallops, smelt fish, cheese, and hanpen (fish cake), which were all delicious. I ended the meal with mochi, which was surprisingly good with the sauce. I also had a Jim Beam highball and Tanaka's original lemon sour, both of which complemented the meal well. I even bought a "Drinking Pass" for future visits. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I look forward to visiting again.

When I went to Hakodate in July, I stayed at a hotel near Goryokaku instead of the usual one near the station. We wandered around the night city, ate yakitori, and then saw a certain kushikatsu restaurant. I was hesitating whether to go in or not when my companion spotted "Kushikatsu Tanaka"! They insisted that Tanaka is a safe bet and we should go in without hesitation, rather than trying an unknown place. Well, going all the way to Hakodate and ending up at Tanaka... (^_^;) Well, it's definitely delicious and reasonably priced, so it's a safe choice. But if I have the chance next time, I would like to try a local kushikatsu restaurant. If you thought of going to Kushikatsu Tanaka in Hakodate, you! Do you have Kushikatsu Tanaka in your town? Probably not! It only exists in the six Tohoku prefectures, with Sendai being the only one. I had seen it on TV a few times and wanted to try it once. There was one in Niigata too, but it was full (laughs). Yes, Hakodate. The location of the restaurant is great. I visited without a reservation. The restaurant was about 80% full. It was my second stop, so I just had a highball. "Han ka chou ka saahatta~hatta~" is a yakuza from the Showa era. Now they roll dice at izakayas! Well, it's interesting for those who like gambling. See the photo. The kushikatsu ranges from 100 yen to 200 yen. Personally, I think the taste is good. The oil feels light. It's non-smoking, so the air is good too. As seen on TV, there were many children, all looking happy. Thank you for the meal. The dice roll of 55 was Hakodate SS Trifecta 10 → 11 → 13 14,460 yen. It was the 55th favorite (laughs).

I'm in Hakodate. After finishing work, checking in, I head to dinner with my colleagues. We're staying near the station but the drinking party is at Goryokaku. I initially thought about walking there but the wind is cold! I also considered taking a taxi but then I remembered there's a tram! I haven't ridden the Hakodate streetcar in a while ^_^ Unlike Sapporo, the fare is not fixed so be careful. Because of that, I ended up being early! Since I left the hotel at just the right time... (^_^*) it's a good opportunity for a pre-dinner drink. As I walk towards the venue, I spot Kushikatsu Tanaka! I haven't been to the one in Susukino, but this one should be just right. I sit at the counter and order a highball (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ Cabbage appetizer is served immediately. There are so many kushikatsu places popping up, I've been eating a lot of raw cabbage lately (￣▽￣) Highball 390 yen. I ordered 5 skewers: pork 120 yen, beef 120 yen, shiitake mushroom 100 yen, quail 120 yen, lotus root 100 yen. I wanted to order ham katsu or potato salad too, but I'll save that for when I get back to Sapporo! The kushikatsu here is indeed better than the new cheap kushikatsu places! The oil is well-drained or the ingredients are slightly better. It's also quite filling, so this place might be good^_^ I finished quickly and now I'm off to the venue! Thank you for the meal^_^

I finally got a chance to visit a chain restaurant with over 200 locations nationwide. The table charge is 250 yen. Some tempting menu items include katsu udon (640 yen), takoyaki (390 yen), and okonomiyaki. This time, I ordered potato salad (390 yen) and a variety of skewers like pickled ginger, ham cutlet, simmered liver cutlet, and lotus root. The recommended dish is the lotus root. The restaurant boasts a special cooking oil filter, ensuring that the skewers are not greasy. They have also put a lot of effort into perfecting the breadcrumbs and sauce. While I want to support local businesses, it's always good to consider your budget. Making takoyaki or potato salad at home can be enjoyable for both kids and adults.

Popular 5-piece assorted skewers for 740 yen, beef tendon skewers for 490 yen, fried chicken thigh for 490 yen, beer for 450 yen, chilled highball (solo cup) for 0 yen, and appetizer for 280 yen. Total comes to 2450 yen.

I was very satisfied with the dessert service as well.

It's crowded and takes time to order, but the cost performance is good. The drink pass at Tanaka is seriously amazing! It would be perfect if there was a call button on the table.

It was delicious again this time.
