This time I will go with freshly roasted Guatemala coffee. I like how it's written as "Guatemala" without the "u". It costs ¥500 for 100g. It has a strong aroma as expected, with a refreshing fruity taste and not too bitter. It's great as a straight black coffee, but also delicious with milk which tones down the acidity while keeping the aroma. Thank you for the meal.

As I was strolling through the streets of Kushiro, I stumbled upon a home-roasted coffee bean shop in a residential area. In front of the log house store, it said that all coffee beans were priced at ¥500 each. Curious, I decided to take a look inside. Upon opening the door, I found that the shop was unmanned. There was a call button on the counter, so I pressed it and soon an elderly man appeared. The shop looked like it was attached to his home. There were about 8 different types of coffee beans displayed in jars on the counter, with varying amounts depending on the type, but mostly around 100 grams with a 10-gram difference. The only dark roast available was Mandheling, while the rest were City Roast (medium roast). I love Mocha, but I was intrigued by the owner's blend, so I ordered the "Muku Blend," which was 100 grams. The shop also displayed the roasting date and time for each type of bean, showing the owner's dedication and integrity. There was a basket of candy and bit chocolates for customers to enjoy freely, adding a warm touch to the experience. When I got home, I immediately brewed a cup. The beans were ground for a paper filter, but the grind was coarser compared to those from places like Kaldis. Without knowing the specific blend, I brewed it at a standard temperature and time. The beans expanded nicely, and the coffee looked delicious. The bitterness was not too strong, leaning towards a slight acidity in the blend. The acidity was light, with a sweet aftertaste, making it quite enjoyable. I really liked it and could see myself drinking cup after cup. It was mentioned that they used top-quality beans, and it was indeed evident. I found a great shop. Thank you for the meal.

I am alone in Kushiro. It's not easy to find a companion in Kushiro. When I say "I'm going to Kushiro," it's not easy for someone to say, "I'll go too." It's work, after all. I know that I am aiming to conquer all the ramen shops in Kushiro. My wife, who loves Kushiro ramen more than me, definitely won't come along. Well, even if my wife did come along, she would probably want to eat soba, which would be a problem for me. Kushiro soba is not better than Kushiro ramen. Today, I'm going around doing various things. There's a fireworks festival in Abashiri today, so I have to go back early. Once I finish eating ramen, I'll head back. After leaving the ramen shop, I stumbled upon a coffee bean store. I needed to buy beans today, so the timing was perfect. But I still have to visit the bean shop listed in my notes. It's a small shop that specializes in beans. It's called "Jikasei Roasted Coffee Bean Workshop Muku." There's only one man working there. Everything is 500 yen. Interesting, right? Is the price based on the quantity? It's not cheap, but it's not expensive either. I don't think they have a website, but maybe it's a new store? I thought that, but there was a newspaper article from 2010 posted on the wall. I didn't know it had been around for so long. I ordered the Mandheling, which is the deepest flavor according to the man. It's 90 grams. The man seemed like he started this business after retiring, as mentioned in the newspaper. He had a somewhat reserved demeanor, but it was a nice atmosphere. Not exactly friendly, but it was okay. The Mandheling wasn't as deep as I prefer, but it had a good balance and refined taste. It didn't have any cheap qualities. The quality of the beans was evident.
