Otaru is famous for its sushi. Even locals love sushi and crave to eat a lot, but in these times, it's not easy to just go to a sushi restaurant. That's why conveyor belt sushi has become popular. In the past, robot-made sushi was common, but now, traditional sushi chefs prepare sushi at affordable prices. When it comes to sushi, people usually prefer conveyor belt sushi. However, everyone still dreams of eating authentic sushi at a low price. One sushi restaurant that aims to fulfill this dream is the well-known and long-standing establishment, "Masazushi." Masazushi, located on Sushi Street, has been in business for almost 70 years. The current owner, Nakamura Zenhaku, runs the business with over 100 employees. Recently, they have started a delivery service specializing in sushi, aiming to provide authentic sushi to people at home. The sushi is prepared by skilled chefs, including the owner and his sons. I had the chance to try their sushi delivery service and ordered a variety of sushi sets and a special dish called "Jidori no Tokusei Zangi." The sushi sets included a variety of tuna, seared fish, sea urchin, and salmon roe, all of which were delicious and affordable. Although the sushi was not freshly made, it was still enjoyable with the right balance of vinegar and good texture. The rice was slightly larger than usual to make customers feel full. Overall, the delivery service provided a satisfying sushi experience at a reasonable price.
