It's like a new koto. A corner where Nishi 5-chome Tarukawa-dori and Nishino Tonden-dori intersect. The parking lot is in front of the store, on the side. About 10 cars can be parked. It was a little past 3 pm on a weekday. I went at a half-hearted time to buy a bento, so there were no other customers (just one came later). When I entered the store, there were many food sample displays, and I couldn't decide easily, so I asked if there was a menu. They brought out a flyer and handed it to me. In addition to the regular menu, they also have a menu with ankake dishes, as shown on a poster inside the store. After deciding, they told me to ring the bell when ready to order, and they also reserved a seat for me, so I could sit at a waiting table and think calmly. The menu items are numbered, so you order by number. I ordered 71. White Fish Fry Nori Bento with Mentaiko, 106. Sapporo Zangi S (3 pieces) with sauce change to Green Mustard (the order number also changes, but the flyer does not specify the number). I was happy to see Mentaiko on the menu. You can change the rice for an additional 50 yen to choose from umeboshi, brown rice, mountain vegetables, and minced chicken cartilage. If they have minced chicken cartilage, they could also offer Mentaiko or flaked salmon, right? It would be nice if you could change all bento boxes to include Mentaiko. The tempura that comes with the white fish fry nori bento on this day was not pumpkin tempura but sweet potato tempura. I thought it was a bit expensive compared to a regular nori bento, but when I opened it and tasted it, I was satisfied with the price. It includes one fry, one white fish fry, tempura, chikuwa, pumpkin (or sweet potato), each one. Plus, two side dishes. The seaweed is chopped seaweed, which is easy to eat. There are also little considerations, such as putting cellophane on top of the seaweed and then adding sauce before closing the lid, or having leafy greens (leaf lettuce?) under the fry. These little touches also cost money. According to the October 2018 Hokkaido version of the flyer, the Sapporo Zangi won the Gold Award in the East Japan Taste Variety Division of the Karaage Grand Prix in 2017 and 2018! The sauce for the oil-drenched chicken seems to be the recommendation, but you can also choose green mustard or black shichimi mayonnaise. The karaage was eaten immediately and was delicious even as it is. It's also delicious with green mustard! It's more like mayonnaise than mustard. It's like a green curry-flavored mayonnaise. The spiciness is a bit lacking, but as mayonnaise, it's perfect. At this point, I'm curious about the black shichimi mayonnaise. (I also feel like it should be oil-drenched chicken first!) The balance between taste and price is good, and the slight emphasis on health and consideration makes the price a little higher but still within an acceptable range. That's the impression. If it were closer, I would definitely come back, but when I think about going to buy a bento, it's a bit far from my house. It might be a typical case of "I wish I didn't know" (sweat).
