It seemed that Sushi Masabetsukan was open for lunch, so I visited to eat their famous Natto Mabushi. I was shocked to see that the omakase dinner was priced at 18,500 yen on the menu displayed in front of Ajima the other day. Despite the sushi bubble environment causing prices to soar, I truly admire their stance of keeping prices almost the same. And as for the Natto Mabushi, it was only 1,300 yen – in other words, you can enjoy it for just 10 dollars. The Natto Mabushi, covered with plenty of bluefin tuna, scallops, and various other toppings, is undeniably delicious and worth more than its price. Thank you for another wonderful meal today.

When you walk a little further down the alley of Asakusabashi, you will find the Edo-style sushi restaurant, Sushi Masaru Bekkan, quietly waiting. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm despite its small size, and the sight of the sushi chef skillfully preparing sushi is impressive. When I visited on a holiday afternoon, the seats were quiet and I was able to leisurely enjoy my meal, but it's easy to imagine this restaurant attracting people on weekdays with its charm. The lunch specialty I ordered, "Natto Mabushi," was brought to me and the aroma of natto tickled my nose from the moment it was placed in front of me. Priced at 1300 yen, it was topped with luxurious seafood, and the way the natto intertwined with the other seafood was truly spectacular. The fresh seafood such as squid and tuna showed an unexpected compatibility with the natto, and I was amazed by the magic of their combination. The unique flavor of the natto enhanced the taste of the seafood, like a new discovery of flavors. Additionally, the extra order of sushi bamboo sticks left an unforgettable impression with its high quality. In particular, the tuna from Oma provided an increased satisfaction with its deep flavor. In any case, this "Natto Mabushi" is a must-try dish not only for natto lovers but also for those seeking a new taste experience.

The limited edition "Natto Mazushi Ju" at Edomae Sushi Masaharu Bekkan in Asakusabashi, Taito-ku, Tokyo is a truly satisfying dish that you can't get enough of. Priced at 1,300 yen, this dish includes high-quality ingredients such as mountain happiness bluefin tuna, scallops, squid, octopus, and daily seafood additions, all mixed with hikiwari natto. You can also add tobiko (+150 yen) and quail eggs (+80 yen). Despite a price increase to 1,300 yen, the addictive nature and great value of this dish remain unchanged. It's a must-try for natto lovers and will leave you craving for more. Highly recommended!

I was able to enjoy delicious sushi in a pleasant and slightly unusual atmosphere. The location in a residential area allows for a quiet and relaxing experience. We opted for the chef's choice course this time, and we finished in about 2 hours. We had a leisurely and enjoyable time. The sea urchin sushi in particular was delicious and I already want to go back for more. Thank you very much.

I saw the reviews on Tabelog and decided to visit. The chef seemed intimidating at first, but turned out to be very friendly and fun. It was my first time trying Edomae sushi and the explanation was very detailed and helpful. The taste was delicious and satisfying. The small-sized natto mabushi for lunch was also very tasty. I would love to visit this place again if I have the chance.

I had been curious about this sushi restaurant for a while, so I made a reservation for lunch with my family and went. We ordered the ultimate nigiri sushi and added the lunch-exclusive natto rice bowl with additional shrimp and fatty tuna. The sushi was all delicious and of high quality. Even the egg was tasty, with a slightly runny texture that was perfect. The tuna that day was from Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture. The lunch-exclusive natto rice bowl was also amazing. It was the dish I wanted to try the most, and I can't help but want to eat it again. Tucked away in a quiet alley, we enjoyed authentic Edo-style sushi prepared by the master, and we left feeling very satisfied.

For lunch, I went to "Edomae Sushi Masabetsukan" to enjoy delicious sushi. Located a 5-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station West Exit, this quiet restaurant stands a street back. Upon entering, the chic interior with a red color scheme greeted me warmly. The master welcomed me kindly, putting me at ease. Cheers with a highball! The lunch course started with abalone. This pairs perfectly with sake... Next up, a dish with shellfish like ark shell, topped with plenty of myoga and green onion. Time for some sake. Then the nigiri sushi began. Starting with seared sea bream. Glossy red tuna. Crunchy and flavorful ark shell. Mirugai. Sake that just keeps flowing. Creamy medium fatty tuna. Refreshing sea bream. Chewy squid. Beautifully sliced otoro. Delicious horse mackerel, my favorite. Ikura. Anago with egg. Finally, kanpyo maki. I was completely satisfied with the delicious sushi and sake from lunch. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Thank you for the feast!

Natto Mabushi - 1300 yen including tax I used to frequent the main store in the past, but this was my first time here. I was intrigued by the Natto Mabushi lunch menu, so I decided to give it a try. I arrived around 13:30 on a Saturday. The counter was empty, and I could see them preparing the food right in front of me. They later told me that it also includes kelp-marinated golden eye snapper. When the food arrived in a tiered box, I could see a variety of ingredients. The natto and finely sliced pickled daikon radish were mixed together, offering a delightful taste and texture. Considering the effort put into making this dish and its deliciousness, it's definitely worth the 1300 yen. I don't often come to Asakusabashi around lunchtime, but I will definitely come back here again.

Today is a no bento day~ I wonder what to eat, walking around, thinking about Western food or Chinese food, but wanting to relax a bit, I gathered my courage and went to this place with a high threshold. As I peeked inside from the open entrance, the staff greeted me and guided me to a seat. I was the only customer! I was so nervous!!! With a pounding heart, I ordered the famous Natto Mazushi (1300 yen) and enjoyed watching the skilled knife work while sipping tea. Wow, so cool... It was carefully presented, and at the same time, the miso soup arrived with the natto mazushi. Let's dig in! I was told to eat it as it is, so I took a bite and the umami flavor exploded in my mouth. Delicious! The room temperature vinegar rice with natto, tuna, squid, bonito, and pickled radish complemented each other perfectly, creating an indescribable deliciousness. It didn't even need soy sauce, the flavors were well-balanced. The sticky and chewy texture was also interesting, I couldn't stop eating. The vinegar rice was sprinkled with shredded kombu, like a kombu-zuke. Perfect for someone like me from Toyama! The tamagoyaki was not too sweet, with a nice dashi flavor and a crispy surface. I loved it! The pickles had just the right amount of saltiness. The miso soup with tofu and wakame was simple but delicious, and the fact that it was piping hot made it even better. In the end, I finished eating without using soy sauce, and I was completely satisfied. After the meal, as I leisurely sipped tea, the owner struck up a conversation, making me feel relaxed. I'm sure the evenings here are also enjoyable... I want to become the kind of adult who can casually visit a sushi restaurant like this.

I was treated to a delicious meal at the hidden gem restaurant Asakusabashi, Sushi Masaharu Bekkan. The chef, known as SMBC, serves exquisite omakase dishes with a charming and friendly attitude. The first picture shows premium fatty tuna, the second has scallops topped with caviar, and the third features Fukui's aged sake, Manjusen, which tastes like white wine but is actually sake. The fourth picture shows a sashimi platter, the fifth is seared fish liver, and the sixth is a truffle-infused chawanmushi with an irresistible aroma. The seventh and eighth pictures showcase seared sushi, which is mouth-watering. Don't miss the charming shot of the chef! This restaurant has only 6 seats, so reservations are a must. Edomae Sushi Masa Bekkan in Asakusabashi, Taito-ku, offers a lunchtime limited item called "Natto Mabushi," which is incredibly addictive and satisfying. The dish includes Natto Mabushi (1,100 yen), with the option to add flying fish roe (+110 yen) and quail egg (+50 yen). Despite the reasonable price, the quality of the ingredients remains high, with the tuna sourced from Yamako, a reputable wholesaler, on the day of the review being bluefin tuna from Fukaura, Aomori. The toppings include tuna belly, scallops, and golden eye snapper marinated in kombu, providing a luxurious experience. The seafood selection varies daily. Despite intending to try the nigiri or chirashi next time, the addictive nature of the Natto Mabushi always leads to ordering it again upon sitting down. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Last year, I couldn't enjoy the fresh shirasu due to corona. They carefully prepared the shirasu from Maisaka, and on this day, they served 7 pieces. Despite being so small, the subtle fragrance of the fresh shirasu is captivating. Each piece of sushi was meticulously crafted and incredibly delicious. The bonito sashimi is also a specialty here, but this time they served seared bonito with sesame sauce. It was my first time trying it, but it was quite good. Repeat rate: ☆☆☆☆☆

Adjusting my schedule, I stopped by a cafe and found out that the sushi restaurant I wanted to go to had a full counter. I regret not making a reservation! But it's okay, I wanted to try this restaurant too. The red seats look stylish. They are custom couple seats. I'm heading to Shizuoka tomorrow to eat lots of sushi, so I ordered the "Natto Mazushi" which I probably wouldn't order at a sushi restaurant. [Order] - Natto Mazushi with quail topping - 2 glasses of draft beer The dish was cleaner than I expected! It includes chopped natto, toro tuna, lean tuna, squid legs, scallops, and pickled radish. It's quite filling. The owner seems to really enjoy chatting. The person sitting next to me seemed to be from Kansai and they were having a lively conversation. But I found it a bit tiring to listen to. I was thinking of trying a few more dishes, but I couldn't find a good time to order because of their conversation. Well, the Natto Mazushi filled me up, so maybe it was just right. I wanted to have a calm lunch, so maybe this place wasn't the best fit for me. Thank you for the meal!

During Golden Week, I visited a sushi restaurant on a Wednesday holiday around 12 pm. The 6-seat counter was full with 3 groups of customers. When I asked if there was space available, they offered me a seat in the tatami area. I decided to go for the 2750 yen sushi set, which included 9 pieces of sushi and 3 rolls, along with miso soup. I debated between the different sushi courses but decided to splurge a bit this time. The sushi rice was just the way I like it - firm and delicious. Each piece of sushi was tasty and I finished them quickly. The scallop was sweet and creamy, making me wish I had ordered another piece. I was comfortably full but still had room for more, and the "natto mabushi" lunch special caught my eye. I debated whether to order it with my companion, but ultimately decided to stick with the sushi experience. If I have the chance to come back, I definitely want to try the natto mabushi. As many others have mentioned, the sushi chef's personality and conversation added to the enjoyment of the meal. The sushi was great, but the chef's interactions with customers made the experience even better. Despite being a first-time visitor, I felt welcomed and appreciated the customer-focused service. It was a delicious and fun experience!

Golden Week's first day holiday. The rain started lightly and gradually became stronger at 12:25 noon. There were two customers already seated, a pair. The counter had 6 seats and there were two 4-person tables in the tatami room. The owner, who was born and raised in Tokyo, shared interesting stories about old Tokyo and local eateries. Sushi Set "Take" - 1,870 yen Medium fatty tuna, yellowtail, tuna, scallop, iron fire roll shrimp, saury, salmon roe, egg, miso soup Iron fire roll - moist texture tuna, delicious! Egg - thick and big, satisfying to eat! Shrimp - thick and satisfying to eat Medium fatty tuna - delicious, soft and sweet Salmon roe - big and flavorful with yuzu taste Scallop - delicious, interesting contrast in texture between soft and firm parts.

Recently, as a hobby, I took a walk around Ningyocho Suitengu Shrine while getting a free PCR test and then took the train from Asakusabashi. The area between Asakusabashi and Kuramae has been neglected recently, so as I walked, I stumbled upon Sushimasa. I had completely misunderstood the location (I thought it was near the main branch of Mikaekosushi). They serve natto sushi for lunch. Across the street, there is the main branch of the same restaurant, while this one is called the annex. It's a local sushi restaurant, but being in Asakusabashi, it's not quite the same. It was a late lunch, so I was the only customer and had the place to myself. I enjoyed a leisurely sushi meal with some sake. The menu had a natto topping, which is what I came for. The counter was like an L-shape, different from the trendy sushi restaurants nowadays. The young chef used to live in Kabutocho and would come to Asakusabashi or Kodenmacho for lunch. We chatted about the area, and he mentioned seeing a Bambolina named Escargot. The tuna and scallops were the highlights of the meal, but the large natto rice bowl stole the show. It had a mix of tuna cuts, including chutoro, and was a generous portion. The chef recommended mixing in quail eggs for added flavor. The dish also came with seaweed, pickles, and tamagoyaki. The tuna and scallop bowl was loaded with various toppings. The chef even surprised me with a bara chirashi, which seemed like a staff meal. It's not like the seafood bowls you get at a fish market, but it's not like the lunch specials at Sushitakumi either. It's clear that they don't serve the regular customers during lunchtime.

I visited this local restaurant during the daytime on a holiday. It was a strong local spot, as I was able to get in without a reservation. I chose a slightly cheaper course, but it seemed like the quality would be different if I had chosen the higher-end option where each dish is served separately. Other customers who came later ordered the higher-end course, and it looked like the quality was noticeably better. I didn't expect the serving style to change like that. However, I still think the other courses offer good value. Next time, I will definitely go for the higher-end course.

This was my first visit. During the state of emergency, many places were closed, so I finally got to go! The location is between Asakusabashi Station and Torikoshi Shrine, in a hidden alley where standalone houses are lined up, so it may be hard to find for first-timers. Visited on a Saturday after 12 pm. I ordered the Nigiri Sushi Bamboo set for 1870 yen. It was a bit of a splurge, but I was happy with the scallops, salmon roe, shrimp, and other favorite toppings. The tamago was slightly sweet and delicious. When I entered, it was empty as if reserved for me (laughs). Later, about 2 groups of what seemed like regular customers came in, and there was lively conversation between the customers and the owner. It seemed like the customers who used to visit the now-closed main store (run by the father) were now coming to the branch store (run by the son), and the sushi restaurant seemed to be well-loved by the locals. I like these kinds of places. I prefer nigiri over chirashi, so when I go to a sushi restaurant, I always end up ordering nigiri. But based on reviews, it seems like the "Natto Mabushi" is popular and reasonably priced. It seems to be a limited menu item available only in the restaurant. Next time, I want to try the Natto Mabushi. Thank you for the meal~

Edomae Sushi Masa, Bekkan Taito-ku Asakusabashi. Although it is called the Bekkan (branch), the main branch has already closed down and this is essentially the main store. The sushi is delicious, but what sets it apart is the lunch-only Natto Mabushi, which is incredibly unique and tasty. They often have the yellow paper from Sankou, which means their tuna is sourced from Sankou. Lunch payment is cash only. - Natto Mabushi (1,100 yen) *tax included - Tobiko topping (+110 yen) - Quail egg (+50 yen) A dish born from the staff meal, Natto Mabushi with added tobiko and quail egg. Tuna, scallops, squid, and other seafood mixed with fermented soybeans. The taste is addictive and truly delicious! The quality of the seafood is high, and the price is very reasonable. However, some may find the flavors a bit monotonous and get tired of it. If you have a smaller appetite, the sushi option may be more satisfying without getting bored. The chef mentioned that some customers order the "Bakudan Don" which is different from the usual "Bakudan". They recently increased the price, but even with the current price, the satisfaction level is still very high. Natto Mabushi is a must-try for natto lovers. Thank you for the meal!
