First visit! There are quite a few types of meat available! The shoulder loin comes in bite-sized pieces of 6-7 slices for about 1500 yen, if I remember correctly. It is charcoal-grilled and lasts for about 2 hours. It seems that you can also change the charcoal. The toilet is a shared style next to the building's elevator! However, there is absolutely no smell. Even with raw lamb, there is no meat smell in your clothes the next morning! In front of the store, there is that miso ramen restaurant, Keyaki-san, and of course, we finished there!

Looking for lamb meat.... Aimed to enter at 5pm opening! Found out upon entering that they do not accept reservations, so if you go at the 5pm opening time, you can get in! However, the service was very rude and careless. Be warned! A huge plate of meat and vegetables came out and that was it. The special meat set did have delicious meat, but I felt like it lacked the lamb flavor and the taste was a bit bland. Furthermore, the dipping sauce was also bland, so some people might feel unsatisfied. I ordered a cola, but the taste was off and weak! When I mentioned this, they just insisted that there was nothing wrong! So I ordered a guarana juice and it was delicious haha. The meat and sauce were both bland in flavor and the portion was small, so I felt unsatisfied and ended up going to a different restaurant the next day. Next time I come to Hokkaido, I will definitely make reservations in advance for Genghis Khan and seafood or sushi restaurants!

I tried to eat Genghis Khan (Mongolian BBQ) in Susukino, but after visiting 3-4 places, they were all full with about a 1-hour wait. It was a Monday on a weekday, but the next day was a national holiday, so it was crowded. I was about to give up, but then I remembered seeing a raw lamb charcoal grill restaurant across the street while waiting in line at a ramen shop the night before. I was able to get a seat easily when I entered. First, I toasted with a Sapporo Classic draft beer. I chose the premium course for 4000 yen, which included: - Raw lamb shoulder loin - Lamb bacon - Lamb sausage - Lamb leg - Vegetable set (cabbage and onion) - Kimchi - Burdock salad The lamb meat, being from the original place, was light and tender without any of the unique smell of sheep meat. Just like with horse meat or whale meat, once lamb meat is frozen, it can develop a smell when thawed. Even when I had lamb shabu-shabu in China's northeastern region, I never noticed any smell. I think Hokkaido, like China, has a short processing time from meat processing to eating, ensuring the freshness of the meat. The sauce was also delicious, and I was very satisfied. The lamb bacon was especially tasty, so if I have the chance to eat here again, I would choose a smaller course and add an extra order of lamb bacon.

The restaurant has a mysterious atmosphere. The menu is a bit confusing. There are set courses and individual items, but I chose the individual items because there were some items in the courses that I wasn't interested in. The beer was a bit expensive. There were many solo diners. The heat was very low, so you have to cook slowly to get the food cooked through. The vegetable assortment included cabbage and what seemed like scraps of onions, despite being recommended. The meat itself was not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

In Susukino, my favorite thing to do at night is enjoy Genghis Khan at my favorite restaurant! Due to the impact of the coronavirus, they had been closed for a while, but I found out they had reopened on Facebook. I decided to surprise the master by flying all the way from Haneda! It was a Saturday evening, but Susukino was less crowded than usual. The promise I made with the master was back in winter, but now it's already early summer. It's been three months lost due to the coronavirus. Without making any reservations or contacting in advance, I headed to "The House of Lamb" for a reunion with the master after three months. He seemed more energetic than I expected, which was reassuring. I immediately ordered the Genghis Khan set with a chilled Sapporo Classic. Since I had come all this way, I decided to splurge and ordered the "Premium Course" for the Genghis Khan, with a drink all-you-can-drink option that included Classic. The charcoal grill was prepared, followed by fresh lamb! The quality of the fresh lamb was better than the previous meat, with a bright and beautiful red color. When grilled and lightly dipped in sauce before bringing it to my mouth, it was delicious! There was no distinctive smell of lamb, and the meat was packed with flavor and had a tender texture. Without hesitation, I poured the chilled Classic into my glass, it was irresistible! Fresh lamb was ordered again without hesitation! Before I knew it, the all-you-can-drink time had run out... It was a satisfying night in Susukino, thank you master for the treat!

Trip to Hokkaido, Sapporo!! Took a stroll in the city, visiting the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, Clock Tower, and TV Tower!! Munich Christmas Market is being held at Odori Park. Made a stop at Ramu no Ie, as usual had Genghis Khan with Sapporo Classic beer, it was amazing!! The manager recommended sheep cheese, which is rare, and the ham wrapped around it is also sheep ham!! This combination is unique and probably can only be found here. Surprisingly, it was delicious without any strong flavors. Back at the hotel, that concludes the day...

I went to Sapporo's Susukino area and decided to visit a couple of Genghis Khan (Mongolian BBQ) restaurants. The first place I went to was a famous one called "Itadakimasu" that I found online. The second place was chosen on a whim, just diving in and hoping for the best. I was looking for a Genghis Khan place that served marinated lamb, similar to what I had at Yakiniku Bar Tamura for lunch on the first day. And before I knew it, I was at my third Genghis Khan restaurant in Sapporo! A friend recommended this place, which had a cozy bar-like atmosphere rather than a typical BBQ joint. The prices were reasonable, with the special raw lamb dish priced at 980 yen. I couldn't resist having a Sapporo Classic beer with it. The lamb was delicious, tender, and full of flavor, with a unique taste that was easy to enjoy. It reminded me of the difference between broiler chicken and free-range chicken. I also ordered a vegetable set with cabbage and onions, which was a nice change from the bean sprouts and onions I had at the first place. They even had spices available on the table. I posted a photo on Instagram and got a free lamb sausage as a service. The sausage had that distinct lamb flavor that lamb enthusiasts would appreciate. After enjoying the meal, the bill came out to just a little over 2000 yen per person. Despite the mysterious atmosphere of the place, the quality of the Genghis Khan at this restaurant was top-notch. It seems this place is known for serving high-quality lamb. It was a great find thanks to my friend's excellent food radar. It was a hidden gem in Susukino, Sapporo.

I wasn't satisfied with the first seafood izakaya I went to, feeling both hungry and only slightly tipsy. Since I had come all the way to Susukino, I decided to try having some rice with Genghis Khan, but all the famous places had long lines before 9 PM. That's when I saw the words "raw lamb charcoal grill"! Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was different from the typical Genghis Khan place, more like a pop? Old American style? Anyway, I really wanted to have Genghis Khan rice, so I ordered raw lamb, rice, and kimchi. The portion was modest, but it went well with the spicy sauce! It paired perfectly with the rice too!

On the first day of my Sapporo-Otaru trip, after seeing the night view at Mt. Moiwa, I had dinner at a restaurant. The interior was American-style and quite noisy with a lot of people. The quality of the meat was good, but the portion size was a bit small, so even after getting seconds, it still felt insufficient. We also went to a second restaurant, ate a decent amount, and then left.

I happened to pass by Susukino on the last day of the year, where even in the cold snowy town, there were scattered lines waiting for Genghis Khan. After having dinner at a ramen shop I happened to come across, I saw a place across the street with a sign that read "Raw Lamb" and my heart leaped with excitement, so I decided to go in. This is a place I highly recommend trying out! It has become my personal favorite Genghis Khan.

Hokkaido, especially Sapporo, is famous for its ramen. However, if you don't choose your restaurant carefully, you might end up paying tourist prices for average tasting ramen. If you're willing to spend a lot, you can enjoy high-end Japanese cuisine featuring Hokkaido seafood, but good restaurants may not necessarily be cheaper than in Tokyo. Interestingly, Hokkaido is known for its lamb dishes, which are popular among locals and are not as expensive as other tourist options. I stumbled upon a restaurant with a great atmosphere and tried the lamb shoulder loin and T-bone lamb, which were excellent. The vegetables, especially the garlic, were also delicious. While this high-quality restaurant was a bit pricey, as long as you don't go overboard with food and drinks, you won't need to spend a lot of money. If this restaurant were in Tokyo, it would probably cost 1.5 times more.

The quality is high and delicious, but the portion is too small. Photo shows 2 servings for 1900 yen. Vegetables are extra. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively and fun. It's easy to get in on Fridays and you can also enjoy the course without a reservation.
