The restaurant "Wagyuu Kurosawa" opened in July this year on Deba-kouji Street in Otaru. It is a branch of Otaru Kalbi. I visited the restaurant on September 1st. I hesitated to write a review, but decided to do it anyway. The menu outside had high prices, but I thought I could afford a beef bowl at least. When I entered the restaurant, I heard traditional Japanese music playing. The seating was only at the counter, and there were no other customers besides me. The menu had expensive items, mainly focusing on wagyu sukiyaki. I was surprised by the prices. I ordered a beef bowl. I used to frequent a cheap beef bowl chain restaurant before starting my food blog, so I was curious about how good this expensive beef bowl would be. When it arrived, I was disappointed. The beef bowl didn't taste much different from the ones I had at the budget chain restaurants. And for the price of 1400 yen! The miso soup tasted like instant soup, and the pickles were like the ones you find in convenience store bento boxes. When asked if I wanted kimchi, I declined, fearing an additional charge. Overall, I felt that the quality did not match the high prices, and I noticed that the beef bowl had been raised to 1600 yen on their website. It seemed like they were targeting foreign tourists who might not know better, but I found the experience disappointing.
