Shabu leaf now offers the option to add cheese as a topping, so you can enjoy making ojiya or ramen and topping it with cheese at the end. This time, I chose a spicy miso broth and made ojiya with rice, egg, and cheese at the end. I love cheese, so the cheese-topped ojiya was delicious! Shabu leaf has a variety of toppings, so it's fun to come up with different combinations. For dessert, I had waffles with fruits, nata de coco, and condensed milk drizzled on top. It was a rich and satisfying treat! Thank you for the meal!

I visited this restaurant for lunch after a long time. They had replaced the traditional servers with cute robot cats that brought the meat to our table. The robots had blue lights and we had to take the meat from where the light shone. It was a bit noisy when they walked around the restaurant saying "Your order has arrived, meow". I had a coupon for half-priced four flavors of broth at 220 yen, but I stuck to my usual choice of "white miso + sukiyaki dashi". My companion made a delicious sauce with ponzu, grated daikon, and green onions, which I tried and loved. We also tried wrapping the meat in spicy chili oil and mayonnaise, and changing up the flavors with ginger and yuzu pepper. We heard that garlic chives are good for recovery so we added a lot of them today (lol). Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat meat! I arrived and found out they have a limited-time offer of "Cheese Fondue"! It's a bit disappointing that there are only two flavors, miso or soy milk, but I ordered the soy milk one and it goes really well with the cheese fondue! It's delicious! However, the cheese fondue disappeared in no time, and I ended up getting full before I could order more cheese. I want to come back at least one more time while they still have the cheese fondue. The cheese fondue pot is quite big and gets in the way, but it's delicious. Adding extra cheese costs an additional 110 yen, so it ends up being around the same cost as a 4-flavor hot pot, but the cheese fondue is delicious (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

I thought that the lunch was unlimited on weekdays, but it was actually limited to 80 minutes. I had the pork belly course and enjoyed it, but 80 minutes feels rushed. The curry has also become more delicious. Since the time is short, I haven't tried the waffles yet. Today's video: https://youtu.be/7gknbmtLF0Q

I had a day off during the day, so I came to Shabu-shabu to try something I had always wanted to do. I always just had two flavors before (and shared with my family), so I decided to try having a hot pot with four flavors by myself this time. And it seems like the price has become cheaper, which is nice. For an additional 220 yen, you can choose four flavors: 1. Sukiyaki broth 2. Spicy miso broth 3. Seasonal soy milk broth 4. Herb broth I normally wouldn't choose "Herb broth" or "Soy milk broth," so I was excited. The Herb broth contains oregano and basil, and it has a unique and strong herb flavor. Surprisingly, it goes well with the meat, but having it throughout the meal can be tough. It's like a flashy second girlfriend that you want to see occasionally. The Sukiyaki broth is always a solid choice, especially with added Shiratama dumplings. It's like the childhood friend you always end up choosing. The Scallop soy milk broth was better than expected, but it can get a bit monotonous. It's good for occasional flavor changes. However, it was a perfect match with cheese fondue. A surprising potential. The Spicy miso broth comes in three levels of spiciness: mild, medium, and spicy. I also added the "Chinese herbal fire pot broth" for an additional 110 yen. It had a rich spice flavor and really gave a hot pot vibe. It felt like my body was warming up. Are these round spices edible? (I didn't eat them...) Star anise looks beautiful, but it's surprisingly strong in spice, and honestly, I'm glad I didn't eat it (lol). Having both "spicy" and "normal" options in the hot pot broth creates a perpetual motion machine, so the spicy miso broth is a good choice! I finally got to experience all the broths I was curious about and I was super satisfied! Thank you for the meal!

I went to Tomakomai for my grandmother's 49th day memorial, and I visited a restaurant I had been wanting to try, called Shabu Leaf. The interior of the restaurant was cold, maybe because of ventilation, as I have noticed many places being cold lately. When I sat down, I ordered using a tablet. During weekday lunch hours, there is no time limit for dining. I decided to go for the Three-Plate Lunch with three kinds of pork, as I didn't need a lot of meat. With this option, you can have unlimited food and dessert, but only three plates of meat. The price was 1,099 yen, but with a JAF coupon, I got a 10% discount, so it was 989 yen. Every time I went to get food, I had to wear a mask and specific gloves. The meat was nothing special, but it tasted better with curry sauce than the regular sauce. The avocado with wasabi mayo was delicious. The chirashi sushi had shiny rice and was tasty. My companion had curry rice, curry udon, and curry ramen - he really loves curry! The soft serve ice cream and mochi were delicious, but I couldn't have seconds because I was too cold and shivering. I missed out on the waffles, but overall, it was a fun lunch. They also serve sushi at night. Thank you for the meal!

If you want to eat light meat, then shabu-shabu is the way to go. Today, I chose the beef loin and kalbi course. I also eat vegetables. As you reach your fifties, you can't eat as much, and you can't eat a lot of greasy food. Right now, with the pandemic, buffets require wearing polyethylene gloves and masks, which is a hassle, but it can't be helped.

I wanted to eat curry, so I went to Shabuya for lunch. I ordered the 60-minute, 3-meat course. The meat was quickly cooked, and I had my first taste of curry. The meat included pork belly and ground meat, but this time, it was ground meat - maybe because it was lunch? I thought the taste was decent enough for a buffet. The soft serve ice cream, which didn't taste good before, was actually delicious this time. I realized that the taste can vary depending on the restaurant or the staff preparing it, even within the same chain like Shabuya.

After watching that TV show about customizing shabu-shabu, I had so much fun trying out different arrangements, and this time I made ojiya as a finishing touch! It was delicious! I added chicken, garlic, ginger, leeks, vegetables, and sesame seeds. I also tried a delicious variation of samgyetang that I made before. Surprisingly, there are many flavor-changing gadgets available! I really liked the spicy mapo spice! Boiling shiratama and wrapping it in meat to eat is also delicious! The waffle burger is also incredibly tasty, but combining waffles with meat and soft serve ice cream made me full in no time... If you search online, you'll find plenty of arrangement ideas, so I highly recommend enjoying the good shabu-shabu life! Thank you for the meal!

I'm not a fan of buffet style lunches when eating alone. I don't need all-you-can-eat either... But life is an adventure, so I decided to try it out for the first time. In the end, I thought it was a place where I would be satisfied going alone once. [Lunch] All-you-can-eat three-layer pork belly shabu-shabu for 1,199 yen (excluding tax). Shabu-shabu with rice? I thought as I scooped some seaweed rice. Oh? This rice is surprisingly delicious with a good texture. The dipping sauces are plum, onion, and Japanese dashi... all have their own unique flavors but I quickly got tired of them. I still love ponzu sauce the most. The choice of broth is "lemon broth"... Now, the crucial three-layer pork belly... Light and refreshing... this is a compliment. However, it's light and refreshing... there is no off-flavor, but the umami of the lean meat and the sweetness of the fat are also subtle. I can understand why the price is low, but this is not a taste I particularly enjoy. In total, I had 12 plates of meat and filled my stomach with vegetables and rice. I don't know about the higher-priced menu items, but for tasting the basic pork belly, this place is convenient for families or for filling up on a budget... that's the feeling I got. I failed at swirling my own soft serve ice cream and pouring chocolate syrup on it, but the refreshing soft serve with a chewy texture was a nice palate cleanser. After paying the bill and leaving the restaurant... my stomach was stuffed.

I visited a restaurant that opens at 11 am. They offered all-you-can-eat pork shoulder and belly for 1399 yen until 4 pm with unlimited time. I chose to have pork sukiyaki, which is my personal favorite as a Hokkaido native. I selected white dashi and sukiyaki broth (with egg). I enjoyed pork sukiyaki, added green onions to the white dashi, and had ramen, soft-serve ice cream, and waffles by 1:30 pm. It was a 150-minute experience. I couldn't stay until 4 pm, but I was very satisfied and the food was delicious!

I tried the new dashi flavors: Quattro Nuts Tantan Dashi, Chicken Soup Tanmen-style Dashi, and Hokkaido Three-Flavor Ultimate Dashi for Sukiyaki. The Yuzu Salt Dashi and Red Chili Miso Dashi were my favorites. However, on this day, the staff seemed to be short-handed as the condiments were not being replenished promptly. I waited for green onions for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, but they were still not refilled. Other condiments like spicy chili oil were also in short supply. Even the waffle batter was not replenished despite checking multiple times. It was disappointing to have to wait so long for condiments in an all-you-can-eat setting. The condiments were delicious, so I wished I could have enjoyed more. Overall, the meal was good, but the service was lacking on this particular day.

I ordered the pork shabu-shabu course with a drink bar including tapioca for lunch on my day off. Since it was a holiday, there was an 80-minute time limit, but I couldn't eat a lot of meat due to my age, so I moved to dessert time around 60 minutes in and relaxed. I had two cups of tapioca, and I started to feel full after one cup, and since it's high in carbohydrates, I might not need it next time. There's nothing particularly delicious, but you can eat a variety of things, and if it doesn't cost more than 2000 yen with coupons, it's okay.

I got hooked on Shabu-shabu for a while and used to go almost every week. It seems like the number of customers has decreased a bit, or maybe we just started avoiding the busy times. The menu and sauces change slightly depending on the season, so even if you go multiple times, there's always something to look forward to. I tried the summer menu, but it's already October, so I wonder if they have the autumn menu now. And finally, they introduced tapioca! I'm not a big fan myself (calories...), but the tapioca all-you-can-eat deal with a drink bar for 349 yen for adults and 249 yen for kids seems like a great deal. It's probably cheaper than getting tapioca in town. Plus, you can even add soft serve ice cream, and with the drink bar, you can mix and match different drinks with tapioca. It sounds like a lot of fun. For those who usually get the drink bar, why not try the tapioca as well?

This time when I went, the lineup was slightly different and I was a bit surprised, like "Is this the summer version?!" The hot pot broth and rice had changed from chirashi sushi to ochazuke, and the dessert had also changed slightly. The dipping sauce also changed. The tomato dashi was incredibly delicious!! I thought it was always the same throughout the year, so I'm happy about these minor changes. The broth also had a different taste! I always have one serving of "sukiyaki" and the other automatically becomes "white dashi" when my companion is a ponzu lover, but this time the companion who loves ponzu is not here due to a business trip, so we went with "red miso dashi." The miso flavor was also very delicious. It costs an additional 100 yen for dashi other than white dashi. There are many other dashi flavors I want to try (black eight-spice mala, yuzu salt dashi...), but my family is conservative so we always stick to the same ones. I might have to come alone next time (laughs). I was very satisfied this time too, the food was delicious!

I went to Shabuya as a reward for working hard. Although the dinner price on weekends may seem a bit high, I ordered the all-you-can-eat Iberico pork and beef with a drink bar. Before the meat arrives, I go to the buffet to get vegetables, drinks, and sauces. The first set includes tsukune (chicken meatballs), chicken, Iberico pork, and beef, and for subsequent orders, you can choose your favorite meat. The beef didn't taste very good unless it was cooked perfectly for shabu-shabu, but the Iberico pork was quite tasty even when cooked casually. Maybe it's because of my age, but I couldn't eat as much as before, so I moved on to dessert time. Shabuya is great because even if you get tired of the meat, there are various options at the buffet.

It used to be Pepesale, which was part of the Bikkuri Donkey (Aleph) group. Shabu-shabu is now part of the Skylark Group. It's great to have a family-friendly shabu-shabu restaurant here. There were a lot of customers ahead of us, so we went shopping at the nearby Tsuruha while waiting for our turn. We were seated in a box with a simple partition at the back. We decided to go for the "All-You-Can-Eat Beef & Three-Element Pork Course with Drink Bar" since it was our first time there. The menu included various meats like beef, pork belly, pork shoulder loin, chicken, and tsukune (dinner only), as well as nigiri sushi (dinner only). The price was 1,999 yen per adult on weekdays, plus an additional 100 yen since we visited on a Sunday. The drink bar cost 249 yen per person. We enjoyed the meal, especially the all-you-can-eat vegetables and the sushi ordering system which prevented any mess. The meats, including pork shoulder loin and belly, were delicious, although the beef felt slightly thawed. The chicken was in chunks, and the tsukune was served first. We also had desserts like soft-serve ice cream and self-baked waffles. Overall, we loved the shabu-shabu experience and appreciated having a convenient and affordable option in town.

Mrs. Kami chose the place across from Aeon, closer to Tomakomai, surrounded by Pepper Lunch, Ikina, Eat Up, and others. Despite opening on the 16th, there were long lines. Finally got a seat. The menu mainly consists of shabu-shabu, salad, curry vinegar rice, and desserts such as fruit punch, shiratama, anko, shaved ice soft serve, and waffles. Sushi is made to order. Overall, the meat is delicious and the flow of customers is smooth. Will definitely revisit.
