I heard that the Katsu-an's Katsudon is delicious so I visited. I had the udon set. It was not too heavy and I was able to finish the large portion easily. The flavor is on the rich side. It's a taste that many people like, right? There is a counter like a gyudon restaurant, so it's easy to visit alone. The parking lot is spacious and easy to park.

Here, it's great that they are open during the New Year. The restaurant is full of like-minded people, but they are struggling to keep up with clearing the dishes after meals. It seems like they may be short-staffed due to the New Year. The seats are spacious, similar to a family restaurant. The tonkatsu is like a slightly tastier version of a certain katsu chain along the national highway. You can choose between white rice and barley rice, and you can also change the miso soup to tonjiru. In any case, the place is spacious and clean, so I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Welcome. ---------- January 2021 ----------In the Wakamatsu-cho area, within walking distance from Hakodate Station, I remember walking around this area before. It's like "Katsuya" in Sapporo, right? Fixed counter seats, box seats, spacious interior. Order at the touch panel in the order hall. The staff are young and courteous. The clientele seems to be working people. Even though it's winter, they serve ice-cold tea. The chilled roast beef is from America, aged. Come to think of it, Matsunoya also used aged beef... They use carefully selected fresh breadcrumbs. I end up drinking even in a place like this, "Tribby". "Katsudon (regular)" Wow, the meat is so tender, you don't need teeth for this. The egg is fluffy and the flavor is rich. The special sauce goes well with the tonkatsu, and the miso sauce is also sweet and salty. The rice portion is slightly larger than Katsuya, and it comes with fried tofu and miso soup. Looking at the receipt, it's a good deal. But when I paid, it was slightly over what I expected. I feel like I lost a bit.

Along Takasago Street in Wakamatsu-cho, a conspicuous sign flag of katsudon for 490 yen catches the eye. This restaurant is operated by Zensho Holdings, the top in Japan's food service industry. The interior is similar to Nakau, but the ordering process is different. Orders are placed using a tablet on the table. While there is no free rice refills or unlimited curry sauce like some other tonkatsu restaurants, this place has a mission to provide safe and delicious food at affordable prices to people around the world. I can't compare it to other tonkatsu restaurants, but this place is cheap and good.

I wanted to try the apricot sauce, but ended up being drawn to the chicken nanban style. However, when I finally tried the apricot sauce on the side, it turned out to be a fruity and sweet tonkatsu sauce (laughs). The chicken nanban was tender and hot, and the wait time was short, so I was satisfied. The thing that impressed me the most was the mini container of chawanmushi. Usually, chawanmushi in sets come in small containers, but having a small container itself was nice and didn't feel pitiful. The service was prompt and good. I hope it stays that way.

The pork cutlet was soft and delicious! It might be cheaper compared to other restaurants. I ate until I was full.

I had a little bit of hope when I saw a new katsu restaurant with a sign advertising a katsudon for 490 yen under construction. I decided to give it a try, but once inside, I found myself more drawn to the tonkatsu set meals rather than the 490 yen katsudon. I ended up ordering an 800 yen tonkatsu set using the touch panel at my table. In conclusion, there is no reason for me to visit this restaurant again. They charge extra for things like extra rice, and the taste is just average chain restaurant quality. There are no perks like free refills on rice, miso soup, or cabbage, which you can find at major tonkatsu chains like Wako. There was only a small chawanmushi served, which didn't excite me. There are other nearby restaurants that offer larger portions or free rice refills, like Katsukichi, just a 10-minute drive away. I wonder what kind of marketing strategy they used to open this restaurant. Perhaps they thought it was good enough for the countryside of Hakodate. The spacious parking lot was quite empty today as well.

There are many restaurants popping up lately that serve tonkatsu, tempura, karaage, etc., and it's hard to tell if they are part of a chain or not. They generally have large parking lots and operate until late at night. In July, a Gusto even opened around the Kaji area of the Hakodate Kamiiso Line. It's not clear which chain this is, but they seem to focus on affordability. You can see before entering that the katsudon is 490 yen including tax. The area where many elderly people live seemed to be crowded with the new opening. The parking lot was empty, but the inside was crowded. Orders are taken on tablets, which may be difficult for older people. There are various menu options, such as a slight reduction in rice for -30 yen or adding extra cabbage for +90 yen. The service still seems inexperienced. It might be helpful to have someone in charge of the overall operation. The taste is okay, fitting the price, with a strangely tender meat texture. It might be better to eat it as a katsudon. Loin + fillet katsu set / 820 yen, katsudon regular serving / 490 yen, chawanmushi set / +130 yen, extra cabbage +90 yen, egg pudding / 160 yen. When leaving, take the receipt to the cashier. You can insert coins into the automatic payment machine. I went to reduce my coins, haha.

I visited a tonkatsu chain restaurant that opened in Wakamatsu Town a few years ago for the first time. The parking lot is quite spacious. I ordered a takeout, and it was easy to place the order using the touch panel. I ordered the pork cutlet curry, but the curry was a bit too sweet.
