In 2023, Taro and his wife love Rokkatei. Both of them were born in Obihiro (Taro was actually born there during a homecoming birth), so maybe it's in their DNA, haha. On the other hand, Chappytsum is more like "whatever" about it, haha. The sweets are delicious, but honestly, the food at the restaurant is just average. It's not a place I would actively choose to visit. So, we ended up going to "Rokkatei Gyorokudori Store" because Taro's wife insisted on it. We're in Hakodate, and I thought we should go somewhere more Hakodate-like, but oh well, haha. The best thing about this Rokkatei store is the amazing view from the second-floor counter seats! You can see the Tsugaru Strait, it's truly breathtaking! Although you can see this view anytime by just walking along Gyorokudori, the fact that Rokkatei used this view as a selling point is brilliant. Due to the popularity of the counter seats with the view, there was a wait, but since we were a family, we were seated at a table right away. We ordered the "Poroshiri Curry," a menu item that you don't see at other Rokkatei stores. It costs 1300 yen (tax included). The menu describes it as a spicy curry stewed with beef and vegetables, and it really is spicy! I didn't expect such a spicy curry from Rokkatei, so it felt even spicier. The beef is well stewed and delicious. The rice is buttered rice, but I think regular rice would be fine too. Overall, I thought it was the most delicious item on Rokkatei's food menu.

The first floor is a souvenir shop and the second floor has a popular café counter seat, while table seats are relatively easy to get in. Depending on the weather, today is nice with a beautiful blue sea view through the large windows. The pancakes are typical but delicious.

The location along the coastline in Hakodate is really great. As someone from a landlocked prefecture, it was very moving for me. I had seen on an NHK TV show beforehand that HISASHI from GLAY had been turned away due to a full house at Rokkatei without an appointment. Naturally, I visited without one, but I was able to find a seat in the cafe corner on the 2nd floor at the right time. The atmosphere of the shop is really nice. There is a sense of spaciousness and freedom, with the sea spread out in front of you, and all the staff are wonderful. The casual conversations were also interesting. The orange juice and rare cheesecake were delicious as well. You can also buy Rokkatei sweets at the shop on the 1st floor. It's truly a wonderful shop. Thank you for the meal!

When I traveled to Hakodate, I was curious about a newly opened store and decided to visit. The store, which overlooks the Tsugaru Strait in the distance, is clean, well-designed, and lovely. I had a meal there for the first time, and the curry was delicious with a spicy kick. As it was close to closing time, many items were sold out, so I unfortunately couldn't try the store's original sweets or pancakes.

It was a regular day, so I was able to sit at the counter seats around noon. I felt sorry for those sitting elsewhere, but the counter seats were very eye-catching, although I was worried about getting a sunburn on my face because it was so bright and hot. I felt like moving to a regular seat at one point. Having food menu options is helpful for families. The view is truly amazing, and I think it deserves more recognition. If it were in Tokyo, there would definitely be long lines, but one of the charms of Hakodate is that everywhere is not crowded.

The first floor is for selling sweets, and the second floor is a cafe space. It's a spacious and open area. The counter seats are supposed to have an ocean view, but it's all white due to fog. I had a Fromage Blanc as a coffee accompaniment. Red beans appear from the whipped cream - it's surprisingly not too sweet and has an elegant taste. You can also get a coffee refill, so I was able to relax during my afternoon coffee time.

The milk tea comes in a pot, but the tea is bitter... And the milk that comes separately is too little (lol). It seems like you can't add more milk, so the remaining tea in the pot becomes a drink that bitter tea lovers will enjoy. The coffee is so-so. (I wonder if there's no manual on how to brew coffee and tea properly...) The counter seats inside the restaurant have a great view, the spacing between seats is wide, so you can enjoy the sea extravagantly, and the pancakes are delicious too! Other than the drinks and service, it's a really good restaurant!

This time in Hakodate, the main place for me was this restaurant, which I found on Instagram and decided to visit. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily on the day of my visit, and the sea view from the window was rough. But thanks to that, I was able to sit at the counter by the window. All the menu items looked appealing, but I decided to order the pancake that can only be eaten at the Obihiro main store and here. It was a souffle pancake, which I usually wouldn't order, but since it's a limited edition from Rokkatei, I had to try it. The appearance was very simple, with whipped cream served separately. The texture was fluffy but had a strong presence, with a rich flavor that melted in my mouth. It might be the most delicious souffle pancake I've ever had! The whipped cream was rich yet refreshing and extremely delicious! I could eat another plate of it! I finished it in one go and enjoyed the delicious aftertaste. The atmosphere was lovely, combined with the view. Even though it was raining, the ambiance was great. I wonder how it would be on a sunny day! When you visit Hakodate, I highly recommend including this restaurant in your itinerary.

I visited the newly opened Gyokatōri store in Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen, run by Rokkatei, a famous confectionery brand representing Hokkaido. The exterior of the store has a modern Japanese style, with a predominance of white inside. The view of the Tsugaru Strait through the full-length windows is truly breathtaking. I relaxed with some sweets and drinks, enjoying a leisurely and luxurious time. After a relaxing café time, I chose some confectionery. Rokkatei's sweets are not only delicious but surprisingly affordable. Highly recommended for a trip to Hakodate.

I visited Rokkatei Gyokabi Store for the first time and the view was amazing. You can enjoy tea while looking at the sea. I ordered strawberry juice, strawberry milk, strawberry parfait, and hot pudding. The dairy products were delicious and stood out. Thank you for the meal! I would love to come back again!

A stylish building with a great view. In Tokyo, Rokkatei is only known for their butter sandwiches, but this shop also had cakes available. All the cakes were priced at less than 500 yen. I happened to have a cooler bag with me, so I bought some before boarding the plane and ate them at home. The shortcake was surprisingly only 350 yen. Great value for money.

I arrived at the restaurant at noon on a regular day and found that the window seats with a view of the sea were fully occupied, while some of the other table seats were available. I decided to wait for a seat at the counter by the window since I preferred that spot. After browsing the first-floor sweets section for about 10 minutes, I was called and seated at the counter. I ordered the following items: Beef Stew for 1,100 yen including tax, Mushroom and Broccoli Pizza for 950 yen including tax, and Premium 25 (tea) for 500 yen including tax. We shared the two dishes between two people. The Beef Stew was delicious with plenty of vegetables and meat. The Pizza of the month, Mushroom and Broccoli Pizza, was full of ingredients and very tasty! It started off as just good, but as I kept eating, it became more and more delicious, to the point where I thought, "I want to eat this again!" It was really delicious! The Premium 25 was a tea-flavored cheesecake, and it was delicious too! The view of the sea was very beautiful and lovely, but because it was a sunny midday, the sunlight was quite strong and it was quite hot, so if you plan to sit by the window, it might be a good idea to consider the timing.

Hakodate 3-day trip. On the third day, before heading to Hakodate Airport, we revisited Rokkatei Goryokaku store, following our visit on the first day! First, we wrote our names on the waiting board on the second floor and then bought souvenirs on the first floor. My husband bought so much... I said, "I'll resist sweets when we return to Tokyo, so please buy only what you can eat alone." Besides Rokkatei, we also bought plenty of souvenirs at Michi-no-Eki and the souvenir shop at Hakodate Station, even though it was Sunday afternoon. We were seated in the café without much wait, and by chance, it was the exact same counter seat as the first day! We had the limited edition Snow Yakonkon cookie-like treat with cheese cream sandwiched in between. Rokkatei's sweets never disappoint! It was delicious (*^^*) After this, my husband only bought takeout from Lappi for dinner (to bring back to our home in Tokyo). You, always eating Lappi for lunch and dinner... I want to go back to Hakodate again. Someday with my husband... I want to drive his beloved classic car from our home to Oarai Port, take the ferry to Tomakomai Port, and then drive through the northern lands. Well, ferry trips take time. My husband doesn't have much time off, so when will this actually happen? I want to live a life where I have money and time, but for now, I'll enjoy traveling and eating delicious food whenever I can. Otherwise, I won't be able to keep working hard!

My Levie's Kalguksu visited the much-wanted Rokkatei Gyorakudo store. There is also a Rokkatei near Goryokaku Tower in Hakodate, but access to the Gyorakudo store is difficult without a car. It might be a hidden gem compared to the store near Goryokaku Tower. However, the location is fantastic with a view of the sea from the window and the beautiful Tsugaru Peninsula on the other side (probably). I want to stay there for a day. On the first and third days, I visited the second-floor cafe for sweets. Luckily, both times I got a window seat at the counter! Delicious sweets and a wonderful view. (It would have been even better if it was sunny.) On the first day, I had hot coffee, the delicious-looking cake I saw on the first floor (Strawberry Cardinal), and the Gyorakudo store limited edition roll cake. My husband had iced coffee, Strawberry Cardinal, hotcakes, and a cake with rum bubbling (forgot the name) in triple serving! Rokkatei's sweets are unbeatable! They are delicious! It's a momentary pleasure! The curry and pizza also looked delicious.

Hakodate City Rokkatei Ryobatei Otaru Store A location with a superb view facing the Pacific Ocean. Tsugaru Strait, Mount Hakodate. The waves are gentle. Seagulls fly close by, almost posing for the camera, intentionally. Order: - Otokoyama Forest 900 - Blend Coffee 380 x2 Impressions: Enjoying free refills of coffee while gazing at the sea. Losing track of time, chatting, and continuing to read the weekly enjoyment on my smartphone. The view is beautiful. Now, onto the special menu only available at the Otaru store, the "Otokoyama Forest"! A soufflé-type pancake with ricotta cheese inside. To put it simply, it was incredibly delicious! The fluffy texture and the aroma of cheese. The coffee also complemented it well. The way coffee is served varies by store, but here they come to pour it for you. Just raise your hand if you want a refill. I had a very leisurely and enjoyable time. Since I had bought some "Gingetsu" dumplings earlier, I decided to go outside and eat them near the sea. Rokkatei truly lives up to its reputation. Not only is the location great, but the surrounding area visible from the window is well-maintained and truly beautiful. Thank you for the meal. I just visited Rokkatei Gyokaten during lunchtime on a weekday. Unfortunately, the window seats were full so I was seated at a table in the middle. I tried the salad pizza with burdock and pancakes for this month. The pizza was delicious with a tasty burdock salad and crust. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious.

Rokkatei offers a wonderful location with a view of the Tsugaru Strait! The second floor has a cafe where you can have lunch or tea. The window seats on the second floor also have an ocean view! For a fan of Rokkatei like me, it was almost destined for me to plan a trip to Hakodate after 13 years to visit the newly opened Gyuho-ten last December. But in reality, it was just a fortunate coincidence. As I looked out, I could see the Tsugaru Strait spreading out in front of me, with Hakodate Mountain on the right and the ryokan in Yunokawa Onsen on the left. The location was truly amazing and awe-inspiring. Standing in this picturesque location was a stylish building that was typical of Rokkatei. The first floor was for selling sweets, while the second floor was a café. Both floors had a very open and airy feel with full-length glass windows, creating a maximum sense of openness. This time, I would like to focus more on the café experience rather than introducing the familiar sweets I bought as souvenirs. The sales opening was at 10:00, while the café opened at 11:00. It was the second day of a 3-day weekend, and unfortunately, I was running late. I arrived right at 11:00, but there were already customers who had lined up before the opening, and some had already been called to go upstairs. Luckily, I was able to get a seat at a table for two on the second floor. The café had a layout of counter seats by the window and tables for two or four people, accommodating nearly 30 people. The view outside the window was spectacular, and the sunlight was streaming in on this particular day, making it a lucky choice. The menu was surprisingly diverse, with options like curry and pizza, but I decided to focus on the sweets, starting with the limited menu item, Ricotta Pancakes. Walking from Matsukaze-cho to here took about 40 minutes, and my body was feeling warm, so I also ordered a Strawberry Parfait to cool down. The café's traditional menu also caught my eye, and I ended up ordering more than two items, as expected. The service was excellent, with the staff being very accommodating and the chef even personally bringing the sweets to the customers. The quality of the sweets was top-notch, just like Rokkatei's famous confectionery. The Strawberry Parfait and Ricotta Pancakes were delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Overall, the experience at Rokkatei's café was fantastic, and I could see a common thread between their sweets and café menu items. The high-quality yet approachable nature of their offerings made it a truly enjoyable visit.

When I went to Hakodate, I definitely wanted to visit "Rokkatei Gyorokudori-ten". The first floor is a shop and the second floor is a cafe, both with large windows facing the ocean, offering a fantastic ocean view. The area in front of the shop, Omorihama, used to be a sandy beach, but now it is covered with beautiful pebbles on the seaside property of Rokkatei Gyorokudori-ten, creating a picturesque view. On the right side, you can see Mt. Hakodate and Tachimachi Cape, and on the left side, you can see Shioshiri Cape, the southernmost tip of the Kamitsuke Peninsula. If the weather is clear, you can see the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori straight ahead, and the view in all directions is breathtaking. Even though I couldn't sit at the counter seats facing the sea, just looking through the gaps made me happy. In the cafe, I tried the Gokuraku Roll, cafe au lait, and champagne oolong tea, and at the shop, I bought Ohiradaira, Baron, Beko Mochi, and Jomon pattern sweets. If I lived in Hakodate, I would definitely visit this place often. It was a very lovely space. I will definitely come back when I visit Hakodate again.
