I visited Torisei Obihiro Odori store for the first time! I haven't been here before, so I decided to get takeout. I called around 15:40, before the opening time, and ordered 2 servings of charcoal-grilled chicken. The earliest time for pick-up was 16:30, so I agreed to pick it up at that time. When I arrived at the store's parking lot 15 minutes early, there were already two cars there, and more cars started to arrive. Most of them seemed to be for takeout. After 30 minutes, I went inside. The store was fully prepared for takeout orders. They confirmed my name and phone number carefully, and I received my order of 2 servings of charcoal-grilled chicken for 864 yen each. The food was delicious, with the perfect charcoal flavor and seasoning. It tasted just as good as if I had eaten it at the restaurant. I also enjoyed a beer with my meal. I made a reservation by phone the day before. I arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time of 6:00 pm. It was a weekend, and there were 4 other customers with take-out bags around the same time as me. I had reserved 2 servings of charcoal-grilled dishes for 864 yen each, and 2 servings of fried chicken for the same price. The total for take-out was 3,456 yen. The delicious smell filled the car as I left. The restaurant seems to be popular for its charcoal-grilled dishes, but personally, I prefer the crispy fried chicken. They use a special feed for the chickens to reduce the smell, minimize fat, and enhance the flavor. The freshly fried crispy chicken is addictive.

Torisei Odori Store - Have you ever felt like the taste of the food is slightly different at different branches of the same restaurant? I recently visited Torisei, a popular yakitori restaurant in Obihiro. I feel like the yakitori here is the best in town. The prices are reasonable compared to other places. I always enjoy the yakitori at Torisei, especially at the Odori store. The beer and edamame are a perfect combination. I usually go for the standard salt-seasoned yakitori. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) are also delicious. I love the hinape (chicken skin) here, it's soft and crispy. The vegetable salad is a must-have for me. The biggest dilemma at Torisei is whether to order charcoal-grilled yakitori or fried chicken. Today, I went for the charcoal-grilled option, and it was juicy and flavorful. Despite my ongoing complaints, I always leave Torisei feeling satisfied after enjoying their delicious food. Let's finish the meal with the charcoal-grilled yakitori and head home. Let's do our best again tomorrow.

The fried chicken and charcoal-grilled dishes were delicious, but what I especially appreciated was that the rice balls had salmon roe as a filling. Truly Hokkaido cuisine! Thank you for the meal.

The takeout sauce is delicious!

I visited the "Torisei Obihiro Odori" restaurant. It is a famous yakitori restaurant with chain stores all over Hokkaido. I was seated in a private room with a sunken kotatsu table. The signature menu item is the "Wakadori" charcoal-grilled chicken. The half chicken is grilled to perfection, with a crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat. The "Wakadori" Karaage, similar to regular fried chicken, has a light and crispy batter with juicy meat, perfect with beer. The vegetable salad with white asparagus was a nice touch. We also ordered various skewers like tsukune, chicken heart, liver, gizzard, and tongue, all grilled well and tasty. The atmosphere was bright and the service was friendly. The warm wooden private room made for a relaxing dining experience. The prices were reasonable and there were many private or semi-private seating options for a calm meal.

Among the many Torisetsu chain restaurants, the most popular around me is the Odori Street branch. The specialty here is definitely the deep-fried or charcoal-grilled half of a young chicken. We ordered one serving each. Even on a weekday, the restaurant was bustling with families and couples (or rather, married couples). The service was energetic. While enjoying sashimi and seaweed salad with beer, the deep-fried chicken arrived! It was delicious, just as I expected! I used to think that it would taste the same no matter where I ate it, but the crispy coating and juicy meat here were definitely different. The charcoal-grilled chicken had a more mature flavor to it. When it was brought to the table, the smell of charcoal was already enticing. Well, needless to say, it was delicious. Torisetsu is definitely better than Kentucky Fried Chicken (lol). The restaurant has sunken kotatsu seating and private rooms. They also have a good selection of toys and picture books, so it's safe for families with young children.

I live in Tokyo, but whenever I go back home, I always visit this restaurant. My usual order includes charcoal-grilled chicken, chicken karaage, salad, onigiri, and a little alcohol. The charcoal-grilled chicken here is amazing. Even though I live in Tokyo, it's hard to find something this simple and delicious at such a good price. While chicken karaage can be found anywhere, this charcoal-grilled chicken is unique. They also have side dishes like salad, which are healthy. Although there are other Torisei chain stores, my family says the one on the main street is the best.
