There used to be a soup curry restaurant here, but it moved, so I was curious about what kind of restaurant would open next. I was excited to find out that a restaurant serving my favorite pork bowl was now open. Inside, there was one group dining and another waiting for takeout. I ordered the regular pork belly bowl. I've only had pork bowls in Obihiro before, so I was looking forward to trying this one. It arrived after about 5 minutes. Hmm, it seems a bit too quick. I'm happy that it comes with miso soup. The pork belly is thick and seems quite substantial. Let's dig in. Hmm, the meat is a bit tough, maybe because it's so thick. The green onions served with it are too spicy for me. I don't need them. And the sauce seems too sweet for my taste. The rice portion is quite generous for a regular size. It's enough for me. I wonder what the locals in Obihiro would think if they tried this. Maybe I set my expectations too high. Personally, I prefer the soba and pork bowl restaurant in Nisshin-cho. When I paid the bill, it was only 550 yen, which was a bit surprising. At this price, I can't really complain. I'm not sure if I would come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the restaurant in the evening, and even though it was still bright outside, the curtains were rolled up and the interior lights were off. I was confused if they were closed, but they were actually open. The food was served in about 5 minutes, and my first impression was that it looked like it was already cooked. There was no sound, smoke, or smell. The "pork bowl" was okay, but it didn't have the charcoal-grilled aroma. It seemed like it was seared with a gas burner. The pork belly was thick and fatty but not overwhelming. The pork loin was disappointing as it was thin and didn't match the menu photo. They put green peas on top, but one of them was just the skin. Two out of the eight pork loin slices were oddly cold. I wondered if they precooked the meat and then seared or lightly grilled it. Overall, if you're expecting a thick-cut charcoal-grilled pork bowl, you might be disappointed.

"I decided to eat curry today, but for some reason I couldn't find the curry restaurant I was looking for. After going back and forth a couple of times, I realized that the place had turned into a pork bowl restaurant... (゚Д゚;) Although I had curry in mind, I decided to give up and enter the restaurant. The savory smell was enticing♪︎ It might have turned into a pork bowl place already☆ There was a sign at the entrance saying, "If you have time to spare, please come in," which made me a little uneasy, but it was already dinner time, so I went in. About half of the tables were occupied. I ordered the half & half, which allows you to enjoy both pork belly and loin. They cook it right in front of you, so you don't have to wait long. It took about 10 minutes for the food to be served. The color of the dish was a bit pale compared to the menu photos, so visually it was a bit lacking. The flavor was okay, but I wished it had a bit more punch. Adding some sauce from the table made it better for me. Personally, I found the pork belly more satisfying. The lighting inside the restaurant was dim, creating a quiet eating atmosphere. If I come back next time, I'll go for the pork belly. Thank you for the meal today."

When the store first opened, there were long lines for discounted prices, but now it has calmed down and you can easily get a seat. I went there and there was a mix of thick and thin pork belly slices on the menu. I couldn't decide between the two, but I ended up choosing the pork belly mix bowl because I wanted to try both. My companion ordered a regular pork belly bowl with extra rice, wanting to eat a lot of rice like a male student. The pork belly slices were marinated in a secret sauce and grilled generously, as described in the menu. The staff were friendly and we waited with anticipation. The pork belly mix bowl allowed me to enjoy both thick and thin slices, but I couldn't taste the deliciousness of the pork belly fat or meat. The rice was not sticky but fluffy, which we liked. The regular pork belly bowl with extra rice was filled to the brim with rice, making it a bit difficult to eat without the meat falling off. My companion joked that it would be more exciting if it had an even larger portion, like the super-sized meal place near the university. However, I thought having too much would make us regret it later. We continued to eat while enjoying the additional sauce and sansho pepper on the table. Overall, the meat and fat of the pork belly lacked flavor and juiciness, and the smoky aroma in the restaurant was not as strong as expected. If they had grilled the meat over charcoal, it might have covered up the shortcomings. Despite advertising as a specialty pork bowl restaurant, I didn't feel the urge to visit again. Sometimes having high expectations can lead to disappointment in the end, especially with chain restaurants that serve delicious pork bowls.

Wanztrine Co., Ltd., based in Osaka, is a franchise chain that specializes in pork bowl restaurants and has expanded to cities like Sapporo, Asahikawa, and Tomakomai in Hokkaido. The company promotes its dishes as "Obihiro specialty," "taste of Hokkaido locals," and "authentic pork bowl," but it feels a bit odd for a company from Osaka to claim that in Hokkaido. It's like a business spirit, so to speak. If there is an "imitation pork bowl," what would it be like? The spacious interior, energetic and friendly staff, and the cheerful and helpful attitude of the grill cook create a comfortable atmosphere. The Half & Half bowl for 968 yen features pork loin and pork belly that are cooked twice to reduce fat. While the thick slices of pork belly become crispy and less greasy, the juiciness and tenderness of the meat are somewhat offset. The meat is not particularly flavorful despite being marinated in sauce. The texture of the pork loin is a bit tough, almost like boiled pork, and the pork belly is passable, although lacking a smoky flavor from charcoal grilling. The rice is plentiful and well-cooked, but the lack of sauce on the meat leaves it a bit bland, requiring additional sauce from the table. The miso soup is slightly salty. While satisfyingly full, the overall dining experience falls short. Interestingly, the open kitchen reveals a gas grill, not charcoal as advertised. It seems that the charcoal grilling process has been omitted in some locations, raising questions about the authenticity of the dish. It makes one wonder how the locals in Obihiro, known for their pork, would feel about this. The discerning taste of Hokkaido locals may not be easily fooled. The future of this establishment remains uncertain.

GW5/1 opening, Gotta must have made a comeback, I should go check it out soon~ 11:50 am, parking lot is empty. 4 groups and 7th in line waiting inside, sat on a chair, 15 minutes later called to counter number 6. Ordered the pork loin bowl with a little rice, the staff are very friendly. Serving arrived in 15 minutes... bowl and soup are placed on the wrong sides but took a picture of it haha. Let's see, it smells fragrant and tender, thinly sliced so easy to eat... It's delicious! Rice and miso soup are also good. The operation and takeout were smooth and well-received, but ventilation needs improvement. Even in the car, my suit smells like pork bowl... but I like the smell so I can savor the aftertaste haha. That's all, a review from a local who has never been to Obihiro (lol). Pork loin bowl - regular - 858 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

I had a pork belly bowl for 500 yen (550 yen including tax) as part of the grand opening service! It came with miso soup and pickles for free, which was a nice touch. The pork belly was thick but tender and easy to eat. I had a regular size portion, which was satisfying even for a man. I'm not a big fan of fatty meat, but I enjoyed the pork belly here. I could see the staff grilling the meat carefully on the counter, and the pork cooked over charcoal was delicious. I highly recommend it!

I visited around 7:00 pm! Maybe because it was Mother's Day? I waited for about 20 minutes (^ ^) Pork belly bowl, pork loin plate, and fried chicken? I was indecisive, but I ended up ordering the pork belly bowl and pork loin plate. The taste was sweet and salty, and delicious!
