Welcome. ---------- January 2022 ----------An izakaya located in the Daimon Yokocho area near Hakodate Station. The concept is a bar with a variety of dishes such as oden, yakitori, and obanzai. There is a cozy atmosphere with a serious-faced master and a friendly older woman. The kitchen seems a bit tight for two people. The counter has a display case for obanzai dishes. There are sister stores nearby, including "Meimyi" karaoke bar and "Remosawa". The "Tuna Chutoro" is rich in flavor with a slimy texture and great depth. The "Shumai" is large and homemade, bursting with flavor and juicy. The "Sweet and Sour Pork" features various vegetables with tender meat in a tangy sauce. The "Chicken Wings Stew" has tender meat in a sweet and salty sauce, with a delicious marinated egg on the side. Though I missed out on trying the oden, it was a great restaurant overall. Can't believe I ended up here as the fourth stop of the night. 😅

I visited the Omote-Yokocho in Hakodate on a business trip, which was a rare occurrence for me. It was mid-September on a Wednesday, and there were few tourists around. Some shops were closed even on days when they were not scheduled to be closed. This time, I would like to introduce the first shop I visited on the street, "Shun no Sato Hana Momenn." Inside the counter, a kind waitress greeted me with a smile, similar to the beautiful landlady (I later found out she was her cousin, no wonder they look alike). I ordered a draft beer and the simmered beef tendon. The waitress informed me that they had been preparing the pork cutlet skewers since 3 o'clock, but due to many takeout orders, they couldn't make the beef tendon. Apologizing, she suggested fried eggplant as an alternative. I changed my drink to sake, and she generously poured me a glass, apologizing for the lack of beef tendon. As a substitute, she recommended the "Red Sea Squirt Salted Fish," which was beautifully presented with grated radish and shiso leaves. Feeling adventurous, I also tried the grilled miso-marinated tsubodai fish, which had a sweet miso flavor and was accompanied by delicious grated radish. The conversation with the regular customers and the landlady was enjoyable, making it a cozy and welcoming place. PS: If you really want to have meat dishes, you can order takeout from other food stalls nearby.
