Stayed in Sapporo with my wife. This time, we were able to stay at a pretty nice hotel at a discounted price. We planned to walk around and go into a restaurant that looks delicious. We didn't have a specific idea of what we wanted to eat, but it would be fun to just go into a place that catches our eye at the moment. As we walked around, we saw a stone oven behind the counter. It seemed quite authentic... It looked like a place famous for pizza. Maybe a chain restaurant? There were many types of food and drinks available, so this seemed like a good choice. We entered the restaurant and were seated at a small table on the right side. The service from the staff was good. Looking at the menu, there were draft beer, bottled beer, cocktails, and wine. Let's start with a draft beer. For food, we ordered a green salad, white wine-steamed mussels (regular size), aged beef steak (150g), and a supreme margherita pizza (small size). The restaurant was bright and clean. However, the table I sat at was quite small. There were four chairs, but it would be difficult to eat with four people. It was that cramped. This time, it was just my wife and me, so it was okay, but it would be challenging if many dishes arrived at once. I imagine. The green salad arrived first. The vegetables were fresh and very delicious. The basil flavor was very pleasant. Before finishing the salad, the mussels arrived. It didn't seem like the dishes were being served at our pace. We hurried to finish the salad and clear the plates. Then we enjoyed the mussels. They were delicious. The soup was incredibly tasty, so if you have room in your stomach, ordering some baguette to dip in the soup might be a good idea. The butter-flavored baguette that came with it was also tasty. Since the mussels were steamed with white wine, I thought about having white wine. However, at this pace, the next dish would be the steak. In that case, I might want red wine... I hesitated but decided to order another beer. Next, the much-awaited supreme margherita pizza arrived. It was placed on a large plate, almost like a cake stand in a pastry shop. The table was crowded. There was space for drinks, but when trying to pick up the pizza with tongs, cups and other items got in the way. It was hard to eat comfortably. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't cut all the way through, so we had to use a knife and fork to cut it. The center of the pizza was wet with sauce, and the dough seemed sticky, making it difficult to cut. I wish the restaurant had cut it properly. Despite that, the pizza was delicious. The dough, sauce, and all the toppings were fantastic. It had a great aroma from being baked in the stone oven. The chewy texture of the dough and the flavor of the wheat were excellent. Since the table was filled with dishes, and the food kept coming one after another, we quickly finished the pizza in preparation for the steak. Now, how would the steak be? I was looking forward to it. Contrary to the flow of the previous dishes, ten minutes passed after finishing the pizza, but the steak still didn't arrive. I wondered if they had forgotten. Just when I thought that, new plates, knives, and forks were brought to us, and they said, "The meat will be ready in a little while." Exciting. I waited another ten minutes, and the meat finally arrived. The 150g portion looked quite generous. Exciting. The meat was quite cold... It didn't feel freshly cooked. And it was very tough. I couldn't tell if the meat was tough or if it was tough because it was cold. I had imagined a softer texture for aged beef, so it was disappointing. There were plenty of hot fries on the side. They were piping hot. It seemed like the fries were fried after the meat was done cooking, given the temperature difference between the fries and the meat.
