Of course, on this day it has to be Ohagi! As a Hokkaido native, I usually go for Sazae, but since I happened to be at the department store, I went for Ichikyu. I got one with red bean paste and one with sweet bean paste, both were small and not too sweet. The rice was quite mashed up though.

I recently visited Daihukudo in Asahikawa, which was founded in 1924. They have 13 stores across Hokkaido. I highly recommend trying their black bean daifuku (with red bean paste or white bean paste) - it was so delicious! I also enjoyed their warabi mochi and kinako, which I stumbled upon at a department store. This trip was mainly focused on food, so I indulged quite a bit, but it's important to have a strong stomach for traveling! Daihukudo is the best!

While browsing at Mitsukoshi, I stumbled upon these strawberry daifuku and couldn't resist buying them. I got 3 with chunky red bean paste and 3 with smooth red bean paste. They were both incredibly delicious! I wish I had bought more because they disappeared so quickly. I'll definitely be going back to buy more. Thank you for the delicious treats! 🍓

It's been a while, so I decided to drop by. The greenery catches the eye! Shine Muscat Daifuku (*⁰▿⁰*)! White bean paste + huge Muscat grapes bursting with flavor! It's delicious to eat with a big bite. Looking forward to the next visit ^_^

I usually buy Daifuku at Mitsukoshi's Ichiku. They have a variety of Daifuku, so I always look forward to going there. I especially like the warabi mochi matcha flavor. It's easy to eat because it's on a stick and each piece is big! I'm so happy! The orange color of the orange Daifuku is calling out to me, saying I'll regret it if I don't eat it now. Oh no, I'm in trouble. I really love white bean paste. The combination of orange and white bean paste is also great.

Continuing with last year's review, this is about a shop in the basement food court of Sapporo Mitsukoshi. I bought some dango for home since I was shopping at Mitsukoshi. There were several types of skewered dango available, but this time I chose "mitarashi soy sauce" and "sesame". The price for one skewered dango was 108 yen. The mochi part was very soft and had a slightly rich flavor, but it was delicious. The price was also not expensive, so I think it's a good choice for those who like dango.

2020/4 Sapporo Mitsukoshi B2 Nesting Life ~ Adding Color to Life ~ (*´∀`*)ノ, I wanted to feel spring with food, so I came out to the city before the state of emergency was declared for some errands. There were no people in front of Hiroshi at 2:00 PM on a weekday (゚Д゚;). The depachika (department store basement) was also empty, and the store clerks looked tired (´Д`). They seemed to have given up on calling in customers due to the lack of people... So, I bought some daifuku! There were two types of strawberry daifuku, with smooth red bean paste and chunky red bean paste. I preferred the white one because I like smooth red bean paste. The sweet and juicy strawberry with a mild acidity paired well with the mild sweetness of the red bean paste (〃)´艸`). It was delicious! I also bought the "Botteri Ohagi" that caught my eye. It looks like something out of a Japanese folktale, doesn't it? It was delicious without the sweetness of the red bean paste! Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

At Mitsukoshi Sapporo store, they have a variety of dumplings, mochi, and daifuku. I bought the sweet potato daifuku with Tamba black bean paste. The sweet potato daifuku had a taste that exceeded my expectations, with a sweet potato yokan filling that was not too sweet. It was delicious! The Tamba black bean paste was so good that I could eat it endlessly. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

While stopping by Mitsukoshi, I also visited Ichikyu-san. I bought delicious daifuku today with zunda bean paste inside, pumpkin daifuku, and chestnut daifuku. The mochi has a nice chewiness, and all of them are not too sweet. The pumpkin daifuku has black beans mixed in, and the chestnut daifuku has a whole chestnut inside.

I found out that they were selling limited-time-only dango, so I went to buy some (*´-`) It was dango with zunda paste (mashed edamame). The zunda paste had a hint of edamame flavor and wasn't overly sweet, making it delicious (^-^)

Sapporo Mitsukoshi underground 1F store. A popular shop known for its daifuku from Asahikawa, with many branches in Sapporo. Passing by the department store basement as usual, I noticed the vibrant colored strawberry daifuku. It's the season when strawberry products catch the eye. (Visited in April 2018) As I gazed at various daifuku, I saw limited-time steamed buns on top of the showcase. It had a marble dough with strawberry jam and condensed milk. Intrigued, I decided to buy it. I prepared some coffee at work and tried it. I like steamed buns, but this one felt a bit heavy and moist. The flavors of the strawberry and condensed milk were both quite subtle. Maybe it would be better if one of the flavors stood out more. But perhaps the light taste is better? Thank you for the meal.

When you come to Mitsukoshi basement, you can't help but stop by the pickle shop and Ichikyu here. I always come looking for something delicious. The strawberry daifuku here is very delicious, but when I see the cute ohagi lined up, I can't help but buy them. I bought ohagi with lots of beans, zunda ohagi, and anko ohagi. They were all very delicious.

I had some errands in the 4th block, so I stopped by this shop in the basement of Sapporo Mitsukoshi (*´-`). I love their strawberry daifuku, but I also wanted to try their other skewered dumplings and daifuku. However, today I ended up buying the strawberry daifuku again (*´ω`*). As I looked over, I saw a cute daifuku in the shape of a mandarin orange next to it - mandarin orange daifuku... I also bought this (〃▽〃). I heard that the mandarin orange daifuku is only available for 6 days, so I felt lucky (*´ω`*). Now, about the mandarin orange daifuku... when you take a bite, a small mandarin orange is inside, and sweet mandarin juice slowly comes out (〃▽〃). The white bean paste is not too sweet, allowing the mandarin flavor to shine through. It was delicious (*´ω`*). Of course, the strawberry daifuku was consistently delicious too (*´-`).

I'm in Sapporo, but I'm heading back. I heard that my wife got tenosynovitis and the doctor told her "Don't even hold a knife!" I don't know if it's true or not, but I can't doubt it from the start, and I can't say things like "Are you a drug addict?" when she shows me the injection mark between her thumb and index finger. So we're trying to settle it in the city. We stopped by Marui and Mitsukoshi. First, we bought various things at Marui, so now we're at Mitsukoshi. It's mochi, right? First stop is "Daifukudo." I've had daifuku before, so today "ohagi" caught my eye. They're looking at me saying "Please eat," with so many eyes. Maybe because it's made with whole bean paste? This young lady here is nice too. I've never seen anyone unfriendly in a department store, but even among them, the quality is different. "Two ohagi with whole bean paste." They're small and cute. I'll give half of one to my wife, who didn't decline it even though I thought she would. She's from the wartime generation who doesn't know how to refuse! It's sweet. Not to the point of being sickening. It's really delicious. I like ohagi, and with whole bean paste and slightly squished mochi, the texture is great. The size is small and very reassuring. I feel a bit hungry, just enough to make me look forward to what's next. I fell right into the trap of Ichikyu (Ikkyu) with a satisfied look on my face. Ohagi is delicious after all. If I find it again, I'll buy it without hesitation. Oh, and don't take pictures of me sleeping! Don't send it to me on LINE! Ohagi, you're really delicious. If I find it again, I'll buy it again.
