This is a place in Sapporo, located in Chuo-ku, Minami 7-jo Nishi 4-chome, which is Susukino. For those who are not familiar, you can check the map on Tabelog as usual. After getting tired of the all-you-can-drink sake at the first New Year's party, I headed to a shop that was featured in a certain magazine in search of good sake. I easily found the shop because there is a popular ramen shop in the same building. As I arrived at the shop, I saw a famous shochu noren curtain for sun protection, so I knew I was in the right place. I took off my shoes at the entrance and sat at the counter seat by the sunken kotatsu table. I started by chatting with the shop owner about how I found the place. Then, I looked at the menu, which included sake, fruit liquor, and food items, while the shochu bottles on the wall shelf served as the shochu menu. I ordered a full-bodied type of sake called "Ho-o Mitaka" and paired it with three appetizers: "Fresh Pickles," "Dried Firefly Squid," and "Pickled Herring." Next, I tried a refreshing sake called "Isojiman" and enjoyed the shop's signature dish, horse sashimi, specifically the "Harami" cut, which had a good balance of fat and lean meat. The owner mentioned they had "Liver Sashimi" that day, so I couldn't resist ordering it as well. I then switched to shochu and had it warmed with Chiyoka, followed by "Sato no Kuro" which was pre-cut. The temperature control was left to me. The liver was fresh, without any unpleasant odor, and even had a hint of sweetness. This time, I visited alone during the early hours, but next time I would love to visit with fellow sake and shochu lovers.
