Located at 1-12 Kagura 4-jo, 6-chome, Asahikawa City, "Yoshino" at the "Michi no Eki Asahikawa" is where I visited to satisfy my craving for their miso ramen. The main store tends to get quite crowded, so I opted for the convenient Michi no Eki branch. While Asahikawa is known for its popular "shoyu" ramen, Yoshino stands out with its delicious "miso" ramen. I purchased a ticket for the "Miso Butter Ramen" (1,000 yen) and handed it to the staff. After a short wait, my order was ready. The miso butter ramen had a rich and slightly spicy soup base. The noodles were medium-thin curly noodles, and the toppings included minced meat, plenty of bean sprouts, sautéed onions, lightly flavored menma, and green onions. The menma had a slightly seasoned taste after being salted and the bean sprouts added a crunchy texture. Adding the butter on top and watching it melt into the soup created a creamy and flavorful experience. Yoshino's miso ramen never fails to impress with its consistent deliciousness!

Today's visit is for work in Asahikawa. I had lunch at the usual Michi-no-Eki Yoshino. I ordered the miso ramen with vegetables for 900 yen. It tastes stronger than the Yoshino at Sapporo Station. I hope eating ramen won't make me too full to focus on work. Time to work hard after a full stomach!

Yoshino is known for its "miso ramen," but at Asahikawa Michi no Eki, they have an original "spicy miso ramen" available for 950 yen. Yoshino's miso ramen is already slightly spicy with garlic, which is delicious, but for those who want more heat, they offer a spicy version. The noodles are also great. After finishing them, you can enjoy the vegetables soaked in the flavorful soup. Yoshino's miso ramen is still the best choice.

In November 2022, I visited a roadside station once again. On this day, only Ramen Yoshino and a soba restaurant were open. When it comes to Yoshino, the image is a spicy miso ramen with lots of bean sprouts, but I don't want a mountain of bean sprouts, so I went for the salt ramen without bean sprouts for 900 yen. The timing was a bit earlier than last time, so the seats were empty. As I slurped the soup, I thought, "Is this what Yoshino's salt ramen tastes like?" It felt like I had met it somewhere before, but I couldn't remember. It's not the typical Asahikawa ramen taste, more like a vegetable umami flavor. The noodles were cooked firm, giving off an Asahikawa vibe. The chashu was flavorful when chewed. I guess Yoshino is best known for their miso ramen after all. Thank you for the meal.

A friend came from Tokyo. They came to look for a souvenir that represents Asahikawa at the roadside station. Somehow, I think this place has the best selection of Asahikawa souvenirs. In the past, I used to go to the basement of Seibu Department Store to buy souvenirs. But now, there is no trace of it left. So, the roadside station. Asahikawa souvenirs are quite well stocked here, so even the locals are sometimes surprised to find something new. Beyond that is the food court, which currently only has 4 stores open, which is a bit sad. The impact of the coronavirus is also being felt here. In the midst of this, I recently tried the new Otaru Ankake Yakisoba shop. Personally, it was so delicious that I want to go back again. I have also uploaded a video, so please check that out as well. Established in 1968, Asahikawa is known for soy sauce ramen, but this shop has been serving miso ramen as its main dish, which has been loved by the locals for a long time. Even though I haven't had their taste for quite some time, there were several shops that were branches of this place, but now there are only the main store, the Kanko store, and this one. The last time I went was in 2011 to the store that was called Yoshino → Miyabi → and then closed down. The time before that was at the main store in 2008. It's been 11 years since then, or rather, 14 years since I last had the taste of the main store. It's been a long time since I went to Asahikawa. When it comes to Yoshino, the only choice for me is miso. Well, that's just my preference. Looking at the menu, there are also soy sauce and salt options. Furthermore, there are versions with vegetables and without vegetables. I prefer miso with vegetables! So, I decided to go with the miso ramen with vegetables for 850 yen. So, I spilled some of the soup on the way to the food court seating because it was filled to the brim. Luckily, there was a tray. The vegetables included bean sprouts and green onions. That's it. Well, even though it's called vegetables, it's just this amount. If you don't want vegetables, there is a version with extra pork instead. In addition, there was plenty of menma (seasoned bamboo shoots). Oh, the taste of the miso soup was quite strong. It had a strong and punchy flavor with a rich traditional miso taste. The noodles were medium-thin and had a low moisture content. They were slightly curly, but not completely. The strong miso flavor made it enjoyable even with thin noodles. However, personally, I felt like trying it with chewy medium-thick noodles. And... it was spicy in the end. Quite spicy. After leaving the roadside station, getting in the car, my mouth was tingling for a while. It might not feel that spicy to most people, but I realized that I am weak when it comes to spiciness. However, it was delicious, so I thought I might visit the main store again after a long time. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇I'm happy that I could eat the strong miso flavor◇

It was a hot day so I decided to go for spicy miso ramen instead of regular miso ramen. The spicy miso ramen costs 950 yen and comes with vegetables like bean sprouts, minced meat, and bamboo shoots. The miso ramen soup is not too spicy, more on the mild side, and it reminds me of the flavors you would find in Gifu or Nagoya. It's similar to the Taiwanese miso ramen in Nagoya. The noodles are thin and curly, and overall it's delicious. However, considering there is no chashu or egg included, the price seems a bit high. Thank you for the meal!

On the final day of my trip to Hokkaido, I stopped by a roadside station in Asahikawa and ordered miso vegetable ramen for lunch. The bowl was overflowing, and I accidentally spilled some soup when carrying it. The portion was satisfying, and the miso was delicious with plenty of vegetables. It was a tasty miso ramen. It was a bit spicy, so I couldn't let my daughter try it. Thank you for the meal.

Miso Ramen (with vegetables) for 800 yen. Just as expected from the famous Yoshino Ramen, almost all of their locations serve miso ramen. This dish is recommended and it always comes with bean sprouts. The noodles are served on top, in their signature "topsy-turvy" style. The dish remained piping hot until the last bite. I never used to notice before, but now I find the strong miso and garlic soup a bit too salty. Maybe it's just my age.

Today's lunch was at Yoshino Michi-no-Eki store. I had the spicy miso ramen with butter topping for 900 yen. The store is located inside the Michi-no-Eki food court. I bought a meal ticket from the vending machine and decided to try the spicy miso ramen, which is a special dish only available at this Michi-no-Eki store. The ramen was a bit on the rich side, but the butter complemented it well. The original miso ramen was already spicy, but the addition of extra spiciness was delicious.

Had lunch and did some shopping at Michi no Eki Asahikawa. Tried the famous miso ramen at Yoshino, I opted for the spicy miso ramen. It was a bit pricey at 900 yen, but the portion was huge, loaded with plenty of vegetables. Not very spicy, but with a strong garlic flavor that I liked. It had a rich and heavy taste typical of Hokkaido ramen. My daughter had the kids' soy sauce ramen for 550 yen. I thought it might be too much for her, but she finished it all.

It's getting cold, so I decided to have miso ramen. When I looked at the ticket machine, I noticed there was an option for "Miso Ramen without vegetables" for the same price as the one with vegetables. I was a bit puzzled but chose the one without vegetables. After a while, the bell rang and I received my usual extra bean sprouts. It felt strange without the vegetables, as the sweetness seemed lacking in the soup. However, I still enjoyed the bold flavor of the soup. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, with a chewy texture and a good balance with the soup.

Yoshino's miso ramen. I chose it without vegetables. I sweated a lot at work today and then got cold with chills. In the time of COVID-19, I don't want to catch a cold!! So for dinner, it's gotta be miso ramen!! I went for the hearty miso ramen at Yoshino. The roadside station stops taking orders at 6:30 pm. I made it just in time, ordering at 6:29. It warmed me up~. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen shop at a roadside station in Asahikawa. There are two ramen shops lined up in the food court of this roadside station. One is Umekouken, and the other is here. I was torn between soy sauce or miso, but I chose the spicy miso here. It tasted like Hokkaido ramen, nostalgic and delicious (^ω^). It seemed like many local families came to have lunch. It might be the local people's soul food. Thank you for the meal.

Around noon, I had some errands nearby so I decided to stop by the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) for the first time in a while. I remembered there was a delicious bakery there too. Since I was in the mood for ramen, I hesitated between getting the "Yoshino" with lots of garlic or something else. I ended up choosing the spicy miso ramen for 900 yen. It's self-service, so I did a little warm-up to make sure I wouldn't slip and fall. It's been a while since I visited the Asahikawa Michi-no-Eki food court. The only place I haven't tried is Stedow, as I have tried the others. The buzzer rang and I went to pick up my order. The soup was rich, and the bowl size seemed the same as the main store. Today, I didn't have anyone to help me, so I had to be careful not to spill anything on the tray as I made my way to the table. The aroma was delightful. Yoshino's miso ramen with plenty of garlic is always a good choice. As for the spicy miso ramen, it was a limited edition at the Asahikawa Michi-no-Eki. I had always wished they had it at the main store, so I would add extra spice to my order. However, the spiciness of this version was different, with a depth of flavor and a slight sweetness that wasn't overpowering. The vegetables like bean sprouts were cooked just right, with a nice crunch that I preferred over the main store's version. The level of spiciness was just right, and I enjoyed the deliciously spicy miso ramen. Bon appétit!

Yoshino has many stores in the city, and my favorite is still the "main store". However, the "Michi-no-eki store" is also wonderful. This time I tried the "spicy miso ramen". Yoshino's miso ramen is originally slightly spicy. The perfect balance of garlic and ichimi pepper, and the richness of the soup! It's hard to replicate at home. My way is to focus on the noodles first, digging out the hot noodles from the bottom of the plenty of bean sprouts and slurping them. And at the end, eating the vegetables soaked in the soup is really delicious. Yoshino's miso ramen is popular with customers. I will continue to visit in the future!

Around 3 pm on a regular afternoon, all ramen shops seem to take a break. At times like this, the ramen shops at the Michi-no-Eki, Umekoken and Yoshino, come to the rescue! Since Umekoken was closed this time, I chose the Spicy Miso at Yoshino. The ticket machine said it was a Michi-no-Eki store exclusive. I wonder if the other shops don't have Spicy Miso? It was ready in about 10 minutes. It didn't look too spicy, and when I ate it, it wasn't that spicy either (laughs). A mild spiciness for 900 yen... I wish it had a bit more kick. Thank you for the meal.

I was called by a family member to the local produce center to take care of some errands, and it happened to be lunchtime. "How about treating you to some ramen?" Sure thing! It's "Yoshino Michi no Eki Store" for ramen. Located inside Asahikawa Michi no Eki in Kagura 4-jo 6-chome, Asahikawa City. Business hours are from 11:00 to 20:00, closed irregularly. Parking available, non-smoking. Among the four food stalls in the Asahikawa Michi no Eki food court, I have previously had lunch at Asahiya and Kaburagi, as mentioned in the links provided. I hadn't tried Umekouken and Yoshino yet, so this time I went to Yoshino. Just like the other stores mentioned above, you purchase a ticket at the ticket machine and wait. So, I ordered the miso ramen for 800 yen. The bowl seemed small, but it was filled with noodles and vegetables, and the soup was so full that it splashed a bit on the tray when carried (^_^; As for the taste, I didn't notice much difference from my favorite main store, but the way the bean sprouts were cooked was quite different. Nothing beats the crunchy bean sprouts from the main store. After finishing the meal, I felt satisfied. Despite the small bowl, the portion size was comparable to the main store and other branches. So, why not just make the bowl bigger... (laughs) [Tabelog]

During my business trip, I stopped for lunch at a "Michi-no-Eki" (roadside station) since I didn't have much time. There was a food court with two popular ramen shops, and I decided to go with Yoshino's ramen as I was craving it. It was 1:20 PM and it seemed like the tourist season was in full swing as the seats were quite occupied. While in Asahikawa I usually go for soy sauce ramen, and in Sapporo, I prefer miso, but at this shop, miso ramen is their specialty so I went with that. They offered miso ramen with vegetables or without, and I chose the one with vegetables. The staff was efficient and friendly. I ordered the "Miso Butter Ramen (with vegetables)" and waited for about 10 minutes. The soup was rich and slightly spicy, just like I remembered. The noodles were thin and firm, perfectly coated in the flavorful soup. The toppings included bean sprouts, onions, ground meat, and seasoned bamboo shoots. The butter on top added a creamy and indulgent touch to the dish. It was delicious and brought back good memories. Now, I'm ready to tackle the rest of my afternoon work!

I decided to go to a roadside station and have some ramen. I was thinking of getting miso ramen. I remember that Yoshino's chashu didn't have much fat, so I think I'll go for miso chashu noodles. I went late at night, so I seemed to be the last customer. Let's dig in. The taste of the soup is good, just like Yoshino's, but the temperature is low. I can drink it without blowing on it. It's a bit disappointing. Oh, the chashu is cold. It might be unavoidable, but with such a big piece of cold chashu, the lukewarm soup might get even colder. Still, overall, I think it's delicious. It's in a convenient location, so I definitely want to go back again. It seems they also have a slightly spicy miso ramen.
