[September 7, 2023 Night] After finishing work, I headed to Yamarah-san's place. It's been a while since I visited at night, so I decided to try their limited night menu. They offer two types of gyoza: regular (with soy sauce) and miso flavor. Both are mixed with Yamarah-san's special soy sauce and miso for the filling. I ordered the soy sauce gyoza and waited about 6 minutes. As the chef recommended, I ate it without adding vinegar or soy sauce. It was delicious! The filling was mainly minced meat with large cuts of chives. The refreshing aroma of shiso leaves was a nice touch. Maybe they should try making shiso gyoza too... (just kidding). I also had the "Tamara" which is half-sized ramen with soy sauce flavor. Cutting the noodles in half made it easier to enjoy the broth and the rich soup flavor. It's great that they have added more options to the night menu, but it must be tough for the kitchen staff. To the chef and the hostess, keep up the good work and enjoy what you do without getting too tired. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is my second visit. The closest station is Hamacho on the Toei Shinjuku Line. It's quite near Meiji-za. I arrived on a weekday just before noon. The counter with around 10 seats was about half full. I ordered the orthodox Shoyu ramen. As someone wearing a white t-shirt, I appreciated the paper apron. After about 5 minutes of waiting, my ramen arrived. The soup was thick and gooey, making me wonder if it was always like this. The seafood aroma hit me strongly at first, which was nice. As I continued eating, the impression turned creamy, maybe due to the pork bone broth. But it wasn't overwhelming. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles, with a good chewy texture that I like. They paired well with the soup. The large slices of chashu were tender and delicious. The thick menma bamboo shoots provided a satisfying crunch. The seaweed and kaiware radish were nice accents. There was plenty of chopped green onions, adding a nice touch when only the soup was left. Overall, it was a well-balanced and delicious meal. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Ningyocho for a business trip and stayed overnight. I ordered the Tetsuyama ramen for 1350 yen. The soup was thick and creamy, but surprisingly light in flavor. The rich and flavorful seasoned egg was delicious and memorable. I finished the soup completely. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during the daytime and went inside to order. [Ordered Items] - Taiwan Ramen (850 yen) I had my favorite Taiwan Ramen from Yamarah-san again this month. The Taiwan Ramen is limited to 10 servings per day! It is topped with spicy minced meat miso, leeks, and raw egg on top of Yamarah-san's unique thick chicken broth soup. It was incredibly delicious once again, and I left completely satisfied! This ramen is a must-try when you come to Ningyocho! Thank you for the meal! Please check out my other posts as well! I also have an Instagram (@ranko_foodie). Thank you!

Noodles Yamara (Ningyocho) Summer limited edition: Cold Tantanmen I had work in Hako-zaki, so I took the opportunity to head to Noodles Yamara to try their cold Tantanmen. I had seen it on social media a few times, so I really wanted to try it this year. It was scorching hot during the day. Arrived at 13:20, no wait to get in. Ordered: - Cold Tantanmen 950 yen - Ajitama (flavored egg) 150 yen Great pricing, which is rare to find under 1,000 yen lately. The dish was served at 13:27. The cold Tantanmen itself was my first this year. The soup was cold, creamy, and spicy, perfect for Tantanmen lovers. The contrast of white and brown looked delicious. The noodles had a chewy texture. Since September is still hot, I will check when I have work in Hako-zaki and come back again. Finished the meal at 13:34. Total time spent: 14 minutes. -------------- 2023rd bowl -------------- #ColdRamen #ColdTantanmen #NoodlesYamara #SummerTradition #SummerLimitedEdition #NingyochoGourmet #NingyochoLunch #NingyochoRamen #TokyoRamen #RamenDiary #RamenHunting #RamenInstagrammer #RamenLife #NoodleLife #NoodleGram #NoodleInstagrammer #ramen #noodles

You can enjoy high-quality ramen with a wide variety of options at this restaurant, and the portion size is sufficient with a regular serving. The only downside is that the noodles in the tsukemen are too soft and lack originality.

I arrived around 9:00 PM and the restaurant was quite empty, so I was seated right away. I had the salt ramen and it was delicious. The chashu was quite meaty, which I liked. There seemed to be a variety of other flavors available, so next time I go, I will try a different one.

I had the limited chilled tantan noodles last time and they were delicious, so this time I tried the classic Yamaraa (soy sauce) for 950 yen. The location is the same as last time. I arrived for lunch around 1:30 pm and the restaurant was about 80% full and lively. Unfortunately, they had run out of the mini rice service by the time I arrived today. It was very hot today, so just having the ramen was enough to satisfy my appetite. It only took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served. The kitchen was visible, and the soup was surprisingly thick and creamy, like a potage of chicken, seafood, and vegetables. The richness and smoothness of the soup reminded me of a restaurant in Kyoto. The taste, however, was completely different. The balance of animal flavors was well controlled. In the second half of the meal, I used the black pepper mill on the counter to change the flavor profile, adding a sharpness to the dish. The texture of the menma and the sweet umami of the large slices of chashu pork, along with the refreshing bitterness of the kaiware daikon, provided a nice contrast. They also have shiora and misora ramen, as well as Taiwan maze soba, so I might find myself coming back again. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on August 8, 2023 (Wednesday). I was undecided on where to have lunch, but I found this place I had never been to before and decided to walk about 15 minutes from the office to get here. It was around 1:30 pm, and the weather was strange with sudden rain and sunshine alternately, perhaps because of that, there were seats available when I entered. It was my first visit, so I hesitated between ordering the standard ramen or the chilled tantanmen. I opted for the chilled tantanmen due to the heat. I sat at a table and placed my ticket on the counter. The interior of the restaurant had only a counter with about 10 seats. Both TV and radio were playing, making it an information-packed place. The dish arrived in about 6-7 minutes. It had a beautiful presentation with cool-looking noodles. When I took a sip of the soup, it was spicier and straighter than I expected. The chili oil played a good role in the flavor. I enjoyed the firm and chewy medium-thick noodles, breaking up the minced meat along the way, and adjusting the taste as I ate until I finished it. The chili oil created a refreshing aroma and a strong spiciness, making it a delicious chilled noodle dish. Thank you for the meal!

Chilled Tantanmen for 950 yen. Rokumonsoba is temporarily closed (from August 1st to 3rd), and Fukusoba is also closed for the month of August. So, I decided to go to Yamaraa instead. Today is not too hot, but I tried their summer limited Chilled Ramen. The noodles are chilled and have a smooth texture with a firm bite. The soup is sesame-based with homemade chili oil, giving it a spicy kick. It's not just any chili oil, you can also taste a hint of star anise-like flavor. Since it's chilled ramen, you get a generous portion. The toppings, centered around meat miso, are a perfect match. It's an original Tantanmen that's neither Sichuan-style nor Japanese-style. Highly recommended.

I used this place as the second stop for a drinking party. [Ordered items] - Taiwanese Ramen (850 yen) - Assorted appetizers (price unknown) I had my favorite Taiwanese ramen. It was the finishing ramen, so I had the noodles reduced from the usual 150g to 100g ☺️ I managed to finish it even though I was already full from drinking! Delicious food goes in even when you're full, right? My colleagues also seemed to like it, as they even finished the soup (laughs) I recommend the Ningyocho Ramen! Thank you for the meal! Please check out my other posts too! I also have an Instagram (@ranko_foodie). Thank you!

I ordered the Yamarah ramen (950 yen). I thought the soup would be thick and heavy, but it was surprisingly light with a refreshing aftertaste. The chashu had a good amount of fat, making it satisfying to eat. The menma was cut into large pieces, giving it a strong presence, and the seasoning was also good.

One of the ramen shops that I had been curious about for a long time. I finally had the chance to go. It was past lunchtime, but the popularity was evident as there were about 5 people waiting outside even in this scorching heat. The business seems to be doing well, as they offer extra toppings or larger bowls for those who wait longer. This time, I also ordered this delicious looking bowl. To cut to the chase, both the ramen and the bowl were not exactly to my liking. The flavors could have had more punch, to be honest.

Instagram Account: @yunnaramen [Restaurant Name] Men Yamaraa @ Chuo-ku Ningyocho Station in Tokyo [Menu Name] Cold Tantanmen 950 yen Limited to 20 servings Ningyocho is also a gourmet town, but when it comes to ramen shops, Yamaraa-san is the one! And the summer tradition of cold tantanmen, every year I search for a delicious one, but every year I end up eating Yamaraa-san's cold tantanmen. While waiting for it to be served, I look at the menu and think, "I still haven't tried the miso tsukemen." When will I complete it, haha. With plenty of sesame flavor, the ice-cold soup with homemade chili oil has a spicy kick, and the tantanmen is delicious. The sansho pepper adds a refreshing touch. You can also choose the level of spiciness and add toppings, which is a wonderful feature of this menu. I added a seasoned egg, and it's perfect for me. The color alone makes me want to eat it, and the seasoned egg is so delicious. Do you prefer a cold or warm seasoned egg? That's also an option, amazing! The meat miso is packed with umami and deliciousness, and it's delicious when melted. The firm noodles have a good texture, and they are satisfying to chew. This unique tantanmen is recommended for those who love cold noodles and tantanmen. I'm glad I could eat it again this year. It's limited to 20 servings, so it may sell out on hot days! Yamaraa-san, who boasts about his ramen. It's been a few years since my last visit. This is a small shop with only counter seats. I arrived after 6 PM and chose my meal ticket from the vending machine. Today, I went with the classic salt ramen. The rich chicken broth soup is packed with flavor. The toppings included tender chashu, menma, kaiware, nori, and a cherry tomato. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles, and it's no wonder they are so popular. Overall, it was a satisfying bowl of ramen.

I visited "Men Yamaraa," which is ranked in the top 5000 on Tabelog. The nearest station is Ningyocho. When I arrived at the shop at 12:31 on a weekday, there were already 3 people in line, and the food was served at 12:42 for reference. There is a coin parking lot next to the shop. I ordered the Yamaraa ramen (950 yen) with a normal serving size of 150g. According to the description, it is a soy sauce-flavored ramen with fish broth added to the base chicken and vegetable white broth. At first, the chicken flavor stood out, but towards the end, the fish flavor became more prominent, which was delicious.

The restaurant had high ratings on Tabelog, so I used Google Maps to find it. It was a bit hard to locate as it was in a narrow alley. The counter seats could only fit about 10 people, and all the other customers were Chinese. It seems popular among Chinese people. I ordered the cold tantanmen based on the good reviews, but I made a mistake and received regular tantan tsukemen instead. It looked delicious, with thick and chewy noodles in a rich and creamy sesame soup. It was tasty, but a bit too heavy for my liking... I almost couldn't finish it for the first time. I hope to try the cold tantanmen next time.

I have received this dish a few times in the past, but I can't remember if it had mini tomato toppings. However, the taste remains powerful, the soup is thick with a chicken and fish base, and the noodles are thick and go well with the soup. The base price of 950 yen is also great. Next time, I will try the seasonal limited cold tantanmen.

I arrived at Ningyocho by mistake because I made a reservation for lunch on a regular Friday. I decided to try something nearby, so I searched for a ramen restaurant on Tabelog and came across this highly rated place. The location is 2-29-3 Nihonbashi Ningyocho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. It's a 5-minute walk from Ningyocho Station on the Hibiya Line. I arrived at the restaurant at 12:15 PM and there were 10 people waiting ahead of me. I looked at the menu while waiting, as there were many options. I finally decided on the Tama Yama Tsukemen for 1150 yen, based on the reviews I read on Tabelog. I entered the restaurant and bought my food ticket from the machine at the entrance. I then waited in line again. I entered the restaurant at 12:38 PM, with 4 people waiting behind me. The interior had an L-shaped counter with 9 seats. The owner was working alone and was quite busy. I noticed a sign saying that paper aprons were available under the TV, so I took one. The dish arrived at 12:45 PM and it looked visually appealing. I started by trying the soup with a spoon, and it was rich in flavor. The noodles in the Tsukemen were delicious when dipped in the soup first. On top of the noodles were seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, and thick slices of char siu. I mixed them with the soup and enjoyed the dish. There were condiments like shichimi and pepper on the table, so I tried different combinations to enhance the flavor. Adding vinegar made it even more delicious. I finished eating at 12:57 PM, paid the bill, and left the restaurant. There was no wait by the time I left. Thank you for reading until the end! If you could like, follow, save the restaurant, or leave a comment, it would be greatly appreciated as it would be encouraging for future reviews. Thank you!

The nearest ramen shop to my workplace, visited after a long time. There are only 8 seats at the counter, so there may be a bit of a wait for lunch. With just one staff member working, the service is not very fast. But the ramen is delicious. The creamy soup is full of flavor but not too salty. The medium-thick, chewy noodles are my favorite. The seafood flavor is also strong, and the thick soup clings to the noodles. Personally, I think the chashu is a bit bland considering its appearance, but maybe it's a good match for the creamy soup. They offer a variety of options like tantanmen, cold tantanmen, and salt ramen. The fact that they manage everything alone is quite impressive. They serve until 3 pm, so going a bit later is recommended.
