This hotel is located a little south of the western side of Tanukikoji 3-chome (across from 4-chome) arcade, just a short distance down from the arcade exit (formerly Chishuan, now Doutor). The building on the first floor houses the new "Chishuan Main Store". I learned about this hotel from a review by "mjjeje126" on MyRebi. Thank you for the wonderful information! I had been curious about this hotel for a while, but never had the opportunity to visit... The breakfast set is actually quite appealing, but this time I opted for the room-only plan with a discount called "Doumin Waribiki". If I have the chance in the future, I would like to stay with breakfast included. This time, I booked the cheapest room for one person, but was upgraded for free to a room with a double bed for two people. Guests receive 3 coins to use in the lounge from 4 pm. As a basic offering, a dessert plate is provided for 2 coins (this is a must). This comes with unlimited steamed potatoes and popcorn. Herb water is available for free, but other drinks cost 2 coins each (alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are the same price). I ordered a Cassis Orange. With one coin left, it's not enough. You can purchase 5 coins for 1000 yen. Nuts, salami, cheese, and other snacks are available for 2 coins each. Coins can be used at a later date, even if you don't stay overnight, so it's a good idea to save them for future use if you have any left. You can also use "Sapporo Waribiki" or "Doumin Waribiki" coupons to purchase coins, so if you're wondering what to do with extra coupons, it's a good idea to buy more coins. The steamed potatoes come with cheese sauce and mentaiko butter. The small potatoes themselves are delicious, and I intended to eat lightly at first, but I couldn't stop and ended up eating until I was full. I definitely want to use the lounge even when I'm not staying overnight. The lounge mostly has sofa seating, so you can relax and enjoy your time. Actually, I wasn't given the coins or an explanation about the lounge during check-in. After dropping off my luggage in the room and returning to pick up my stored items, I asked about the coins and found out they had been forgotten. Thanks to the detailed review by mjjeje126, I learned about the coin situation, but if they had been forgotten during check-in, I think regular guests would remain unaware. Close call, close call... A little disappointing thing was that on this day, I was looking forward to watching the NHK BS show "Sekai Neko Aruki" at 8 pm. Since our house still has an old dragonfly-shaped antenna, we can't receive BS channels, so watching BS programs is one of the enjoyments of hotel living. However, when I asked over the phone (there was no phone to call the front desk in the room, so I used my smartphone to make an outside call) why it wasn't showing, I was told, "The TV only receives terrestrial channels." Disappointing. I didn't expect not to be able to watch BS in a new hotel. There are various reasons related to the contract with NHK, I'm sure. Other hotels also seem to not have a BS contract with NHK, as the blacked-out guidance appears on the screen. I really liked the lounge. I will definitely use it again. Thank you for the meal. *There were 2 bottles of mineral water in the room, but one was immediately placed in the refrigerator, so only one is shown in the photo.
