Today is my personal day off, so I started my day with a Strong Zero non-sugar dry while thinking about what to have for lunch. I happened to come across this restaurant. It's a bit...no, probably my first time walking around this area. I usually take the same route from Toyosui-susukino Station, Exit 7, which is my commuting route, but since it's just one traffic light to cross, I decided to take Exit 6, which has an elevator. After walking south for about two blocks, I reached the Kamokamo River. It's about 100 meters away. Oh, and the bridge over the river is called Toyosui Bridge. By the way, when I look at Google Maps, it shows that from the Toyohira River branch at Nishi 4-chome, Minami 17-jo to the starting point of the Sosei River at Nishi 1-chome, Minami 6-jo, it's all considered the Sosei River. But to us locals, this 2.5 km river is the Kamokamo River (laughs). The atmosphere around here is kind of cool, retro, and hard to describe...it's an interesting town. As I walked towards the entrance of the building facing the river, I crossed a bridge. The landmark was...a host club sign? The first floor is a restaurant, and from the second floor up, it looks like an apartment building. A little nervous, I entered the building and decided to sit at the counter seat with a view of the river flow. The male staff brought water and a wet towel and asked if I had decided on my order. I went with the "Spa Katsu for 1,100 yen," despite the slightly high price. When the staff asked if I wanted anything else, I said, "No, thank you." After looking at the menu again, I noticed that I could add a beer for an extra 300 yen...so I called the staff again and said, "I'll have a Carlsberg, too." The staff seemed a bit taken aback and asked if it was an additional order. After a pause, he said, "Next time, please order it together." I arrived a little before 12 pm, and there were only a few customers. Some delivery service people came in as well. The beer that arrived first was not bad, compared to the one I had in an embossed bottle yesterday. The Spa Katsu arrived in about 18 minutes, and the hotplate was sizzling. The dish was a bit small, but it had a decent amount of pasta. The homemade meat sauce had a nice acidity and was tasty. It seemed to be topped with melting cheese and meat sauce. It was an interesting flavor. The katsu here is chicken katsu, which is rare but still tasty. I enjoyed it with Tabasco sauce, which made it even tastier. The only downside was that the consomme soup was lukewarm. When I asked the staff about the chicken katsu, he said, "We specialize in chicken katsu here." Well, thank you for the meal.
