After a long time, we had a small party at Kaio-san in the center of Usukino, enjoying a sukiyaki-style hot pot course. It was a classic izakaya course, with a sweet broth and tender, delicious Hokkaido beef. The mini ikura bowl at the end left us full and satisfied. ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

Sapporo has become like a sunfish (tears) because the Olympics have landed in Sapporo. While doing a course walk for race walking, I got hungry and found a private room izakaya. I thought I could watch the Olympics on TV since there was a TV, but I forgot to turn it on (laughs). The restaurant's name is "Kaiou" and the seafood dishes are quite delicious. The crab porridge at the end was piping hot and had plenty of crab, very tasty. The best part was the simmered daikon radish appetizer, it was excellent. It seems like ordering a la carte is popular here.

Had a meal with two juniors. I let the juniors choose the restaurant, and they wanted to go to a seafood restaurant in the basement of Green Ville. The name Sea King sounds delicious... I have high expectations! We entered the restaurant with excitement. Since it was quite late, the restaurant was empty. It seems like the restaurant has private rooms for each table, as there were no doors or sliding doors. We ordered sushi, zangi, sashimi, and tempura based on the juniors' preferences... I tend to forget to write reviews quickly, don't I? The sushi looked like a specialty, with a presentation that would look good on Instagram. All the dishes were delicious. The prices are a bit higher than a regular izakaya, but I think it's worth it as they use good quality ingredients. It was a bit cold inside, maybe because it was close to closing time, but overall, I think it's a good restaurant. The location is also good, so I will definitely use it again. (^^)

There is a restaurant located in the basement of a building at Susukino intersection, and I was intrigued by the red sign. Upon entering the restaurant, I was surprised to find a calm Japanese-style atmosphere. The interior was predominantly white wood, with counter seats near the entrance, but the main focus was on private rooms, giving the restaurant a serene seafood izakaya vibe. I started with a toast with draft beer and then looked at the menu while asking the staff for recommendations. I couldn't resist ordering fresh Hokkaido oysters with shells. The freshness of the raw oysters was outstanding! They were delicious. Next, I ordered a luxurious sashimi platter with 7 varieties, including bluefin tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, scallop, and saury. The bluefin tuna and salmon were melt-in-your-mouth, while the yellowtail and scallop were fresh and sweet with a nice texture. As a recommendation from the restaurant, I also tried the Hokkaido black beef cutlet and the Hokkaido beef tartare-style. The beef cutlet had a crispy coating and rare meat inside, giving it a unique taste similar to Italian cuisine. The beef tartare-style had a rare texture on the surface, allowing the sweetness of the meat to shine through. For dessert, I had a luxurious overflowing sushi bowl with sea urchin, salmon roe, and crab, all for only 500 yen! It was a generous portion and very satisfying. Finally, I refreshed my palate with homemade Catalan cream. I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood and beef dishes. After indulging in the local Hokkaido cuisine, I left Susukino feeling content.

In July, outdoor dining is becoming more common these days. Beer gardens are starting to open too! I was feeling excited and my energy was high, when a friend who I had asked for design advice invited me out for a meal in Susukino. It had been a while since I had been to Susukino for a meal. We met at Rafira underground and walked just 18 steps... it was right next to the building next door! We went into the underground of the building next to the subway entrance, called "No. 1 Green Building", and the restaurant my friend took me to was "Kaiou Main Store". It seemed like a hidden gem of an izakaya. As soon as we entered, the scent of fresh wood greeted us and it felt cozy. The counter and private rooms in the back were nice. We were guided to a reserved private room and we toasted with beer, sake, shochu, and wine! I was getting quite tipsy but I made sure to take some photos! If I have time, I will write a review like this! I apologize for the rough memory of the dishes as I checked the photos the next day... - Special overflowing sushi - Recommended by the waitress! - Ikeda beef beef stew - Tsukimi tsukune burger - Ikeda beef thigh meat yukhoe style - Tsukasa of pickled chicken breast - Today's carpaccio salad style As both my friend and I love meat, we only ordered meat dishes. The prices were reasonable considering the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was a seafood and Japanese cuisine restaurant with good value for money. Despite being a bit drunk, I thoroughly enjoyed my first time in Susukino in a while! Alright! Let's head to the next restaurant! Thank you for the meal!
