The place I visited on this day was "Chin Soba Ishihara" in Nishi-Ogikubo and "Tantan Tei" in Hamadayama, a long-established restaurant founded by Toshi Ishihara in 2007. Tantan Tei is known for producing many famous shops such as "Kazuya" (Meguro: established in 1989) and "Hachidome" (Ikejiri Ohashi: established in 1999). The atmosphere is like a small restaurant, with a counter seat surrounding the kitchen with 7 seats. The menu includes various types of ramen and side dishes, and the quality of the food is exceptional. I ordered the "Wonton Noodles (Pork)" which was delicious and satisfying. The soup was clear and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings were generous. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I look forward to visiting again.

The slow old man makes traditional Chinese noodles with care. Despite his slow movements, he works efficiently and the service is quick. I was able to witness his skilled techniques of the older generation. He carefully pressed the noodles before boiling them. It was wonderful. It seems like they have slightly raised the prices compared to the new menu items listed on Tabelog, but it's understandable in recent times.

The second floor of Hashigo is small with only 7 seats. I ordered the luxurious Chashu Wonton. The wontons were filled with plenty of meat. The chashu is cooked in a frying pan after ordering. It seems they only cook it if you don't order the Chashu Ramen. The chashu tastes more like a gift-worthy roast pork.

I visited the restaurant on a weekday night after 6 pm. I ordered the Chuka Soba for ¥900. It had a refreshing "Chinese-style ramen" look and taste, like a clean and delicious ramen. The noodles were soft, and the chashu had a solid meaty texture, providing a satisfying meal. I felt that it was a good ramen shop for a casual dinner after work.

After finishing work on my day off, I visited this restaurant alone for the first time. The soup had a gentle and nostalgic taste, with a sophisticated atmosphere. The owner's movements were precise and efficient, creating a very happy space. Personally, I thought the noodles could have been a bit firmer, but the shape and texture of the noodles were excellent. The beer I had with the meal was also fantastic! I would like to try the dumplings next time I visit.

Yoneda said he wanted a little more after eating yakitori at Yone-ten, so he headed to a Chinese soba shop. The interior of the shop had an L-shaped counter, and the kitchen in front of it was sparkling clean. The bottled beer and Chinese soba were just as expected - a light soup with a hint of dried fish aroma and a classic soy sauce flavor. It might have been a bit too light and not very filling, but it was just right after a drink. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Chin Soba Ishihara" located about a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station North Exit for the first time. I visited around 2 pm on a holiday and there were a few customers inside. The restaurant has only 6 counter seats and it seems to be a place where you can enjoy alcohol as well. I ordered the Chin Soba (900 yen). The clear chicken broth soup has a simple yet exquisite balance. It goes well with vinegar and pepper, making it a taste that you can enjoy every day, with a touch of orthodox style. The medium-thick straight noodles have a good texture and go well with the soup, creating a balanced overall impression. The slightly sweet and savory flavored chashu, although a bit firm, also pairs well with the soup. I am very curious about the wonton noodles, so I would like to try them next time. Thank you for the meal!

A young and talented new restaurant owner, or a popular restaurant with long lines, are great. But sometimes, the taste that we long for unexpectedly is a simple and humble bowl of noodles. It quietly comforts the hearts of customers, no matter the era. This excerpt is from the front page of the April 10, 2016 issue of "Ramen Lovers" magazine published by Ei Publishing. Alongside Fukusu (Sasazuka) and Yarakucho Ramen (Yurakucho), it introduces the "origin of Tokyo Wonton Men" at Tantan Tei in Hamadayama Station, a legendary ramen shop that continues to reign as a regular at one of the top 100 shops in Tokyo. The founder, Mr. Toshihiko Ishihara, has a shop in Nishi-Ogikubo, called Chinamen Ishihara. In late April, my wife and I visited the shop. Established in December 2006, Tantan Tei gained traction and was passed on to the current owner, Mr. Takashi Yokoyama, who started the shop as the culmination of his life after running an oden shop and a udon shop. It is located in a back alley where many eateries are lined up, about a 3-minute walk from JR Nishi-Ogikubo Station. We both ordered the Wonton Men Mix and the special dumplings. The soup has a gentle soy sauce base flavor with plump shrimp and a hint of ginger in the minced meat wrapped in thin skin. The Wonton has a perfect texture that goes well with the soup. It may be obvious, but when you want to deeply immerse yourself in the nostalgia of Tantan Tei, this is recommended. Thank you for the meal! 。◕‿◕。

I visited after lunch on a holiday. It was full past 2 pm, but I was able to sit right away as there was a turnover. I ordered the Chuka Soba for 900 yen as I had already eaten lunch, so the Wonton Men was too heavy. The soup had a seafood aroma and was delicious. The medium-thin noodles were cooked perfectly. The chashu was firm and had a strong flavor. The ramen looked simple, but I felt satisfied after finishing it.

This shop is located right near Nishi-Ogikubo Station on the Chuo Line. I ordered the soy sauce flavored ramen that reminded me of Showa era Chinese soba, along with the Char siu wonton noodles. The texture of the wonton and char siu meat was impressive. The char siu had a somewhat Cantonese-style taste. The soup was light and not overly seasoned with artificial flavorings, so it didn't leave a burning sensation in the mouth. Overall, it felt like a well-balanced Showa era Chinese soba.

The interior of the shop only has a counter that can accommodate 6-7 people. The small shop with the owner busy at the boiling pot creates a sense of distance and a quiet atmosphere with a bit of tension. I ordered the Wonton Mix with pork wonton and shrimp wonton for 1300 yen. The soup is light and not too heavy, and it pairs well with the noodles and wontons. You can finish all the soup. I visited on a holiday afternoon and was able to enter without waiting in line. I think it's a great restaurant where you can enter without waiting in line.

I entered the small restaurant around 1 pm on Saturday and it was empty at first, but quickly filled up before my ramen arrived. I ordered the shrimp wonton noodles. The soup was a refreshing, clear broth with a seafood (mainly bonito?) base and soy sauce flavor. The noodles were medium-thick and straight, just the right thickness. The shrimp wontons were plump and delicious. It's the kind of dish I would crave every now and then.

- Black label medium: 600 yen - Pan-fried dumplings: 580 yen - Wonton soup: 830 yen This place was surprising with its L-shaped seating area, it doesn't feel like a ramen shop at all, more like a Chinese restaurant. They offer dishes like mapo tofu, stir-fry, and even sashimi. The restaurant looks quite old, but it is well-maintained and clean, with friendly elderly staff. The fried dumplings were more like deep-fried dumplings with a thick skin that wasn't too moist. The filling had a high ratio of pork, with a good amount of chives and garlic, very tasty and filling. The wonton soup had 3 meat dumplings and 2 shrimp dumplings, with a generous filling of meat and shrimp. The skin was thinner than the dumplings, smooth and enjoyable. The soup had a strong flavor of chicken broth with a hint of dried seafood. Overall, the prices were not particularly cheap, and the service was a bit slow despite the restaurant not being too busy. Thank you for the meal! 🍴

I arrived 20 minutes before the store opened. I was the first one there. There are only 7 seats at the counter. I ordered the Wonton Noodle Mix. The first mouthful of soup spread deliciousness in my mouth, and the noodles were so tasty. The wontons were filled with meat and shrimp, but the meat was especially delicious. I finished it in no time. I will definitely come back to this place. Thank you for the meal.

Long-awaited hit with the wonton noodles! The mix of meat wonton and shrimp wonton in the noodles was delicious, and the soup complemented it well. The only downside was the price, but it's understandable given the current situation. The grilled wonton on the menu also caught my interest.

Today, I visited this place. I went to eat ramen during the day and found that they had a great selection of appetizers, so I invited a friend to come back. We arrived at 7:00 PM. As we entered the restaurant, the owner greeted us warmly. We started with a toast with bottled beer. The pickled vegetables arrived first and they were delicious! The duck liver was unbelievably tasty, probably the best I've ever had. The vinegar-marinated sea squirt was also amazing, with a crunchy texture and perfect acidity. The buttered oysters were plump and perfectly cooked. The stir-fried greens had a great crunch and were seasoned just right. The mapo tofu was made with hand-cut tofu and minced meat, with a good amount of Sichuan pepper for a spicy kick. The last order was announced, so we ordered the wonton noodles with mixed toppings, which were also delicious. The ramen at the end was fantastic as well. Overall, we enjoyed the food and drinks. The prices were a bit high, but the quality of the ingredients and the flavors were worth it. The atmosphere at night was really nice, although the small seating area could get crowded quickly. I still want to try more dishes here. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Today's second meal was in the mood for "tantanmen tsukemen," so I visited the restaurant "Chin Soba Ishihara." It seems like the founder of Tantan Tei runs this place. Upon entering the restaurant, there was one other customer. I ordered the following: Tsukemen (extra large) 1080 yen The menu said "Tsukemen (extra large)," so I wondered if that was the default size. I ordered it as is. The visual presentation was quite appealing! The noodles were topped with chashu, menma, and seaweed, with sesame seeds and black pepper sprinkled in the middle. The noodles were thin and straight. The soup coated the noodles well. The soup was made from fish broth, but the strong black pepper flavor made the soup's presence a bit weak. Sometimes this kind of junky feeling is nice, though. The soup was lukewarm from the start. It's okay if it cools down while eating, but starting off lukewarm was a bit disappointing. The chashu was tough. The flavor was good, but it was a bit too tough. I had high expectations, so it was a bit underwhelming. Perhaps a regular wonton noodle would have been the better choice. Thank you for the meal.

A Chinese restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station. Called "Za Chukachuka." I ordered the Chinese noodles and pan-fried dumplings. Both were just average. The soup was mild and the noodles were curly. If I had to say something, the cost performance is a bit poor. It was surreal to sit right in front of the process of putting the noodles in.

I always wanted to go there, but every time I tried, it was closed for a regular holiday or for other reasons. But today, I finally made it! The taste was just as good as the reviews said! The chashu was flavorful, the soup was light, and the noodles were just the right thickness. The gyoza I ordered on the side was probably the best I've had at a ramen shop. The texture was perfect. The restaurant had only 7 counter seats, which made it a bit uncomfortable to eat in. Well, they were busy, so I understand.

Today, at the request of my temporary husband in this world, we visited Ishihara-san, whom I have visited before when I used to live in Nishi-Ogikubo. This Chinese soba shop near the north exit with only a counter is truly amazing. The seafood soup here is absolutely delicious. Thanks to my husband's treat, I tried the wonton noodles. When we placed our order, the owner put the wontons into the pot right in front of us. After a while, he added the noodles at the right timing. Meanwhile, the base sauce was mixed with dashi to prepare the soup. After draining the noodles quickly and pouring them into a bowl with the ingredients, the wife? quickly garnished them to complete the dish. A well-coordinated division of roles! It's been a few years since I last visited Ishihara-san. I took a sip of the soup. Ah, such deep umami and richness. And it's not overpowering. I wonder what they simmered to make this soup so flavorful. Fish flakes, vegetables... the flavors meld together beautifully. And the noodles. They are straight, medium-thick noodles without much curl, but they slide into your mouth smoothly and have the deliciousness of egg noodles that I love when you chew them. The noodles are delicious too. And then, the meat wontons I tried for the first time. Five large wontons filled with meat that's packed tightly, juicy, and meaty when you take a bite. The wontons are delicious too! But the filling of these meat wontons would definitely be delicious even if eaten as dumplings!! They are really delicious! After eating four wontons and feeling full, I reluctantly let my husband eat the last one. Thank you for the meal. I'm satisfied with the delicious soup and noodles that haven't changed since the old days. The classic Chinese soba, right here!! Thank you for the meal.

A Chinese restaurant located just a 1-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station is known for its ramen. Normally, I tend to go to RAGE on the other side of the station, but since it was past closing time, I chose this restaurant instead. I ordered the Shina soba, which had a classic appearance. The soup was strong yet gentle, and the thickly sliced chashu had a nice meaty texture. The noodles paired well with the soup, making it a very satisfying bowl.
