It's on my way home from work. Last Friday, I ate at another restaurant, but I wasn't satisfied with the food, so I had been thinking of coming to this place early in the new year. I couldn't wait any longer, so I headed to the restaurant. It's conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from the No. 2 exit of Toyohira Susukino Station on the municipal subway Toho Line. But, it's a bit far from the ticket gate to the No. 2 exit (laughs). I arrived at the front of the restaurant a little before the opening time of 4:30 pm. I was thinking of waiting for a while, but the sign of the restaurant was already lit up. I decided to enter and was greeted by a waitress saying "Welcome." There were already a few people inside drinking (laughs). The waitress informed me that they had a reservation until 5:30 pm, so I could stay until 4:30 pm. I was shown to a table seat. At that moment, I thought, "Oh, if it's a table seat, I can't order a tokkuri, right?" It's written on the menu. "We only provide tokkuri for customers at the counter seat." Oh well. The waitress brought grated radish with soup and soy sauce, and I ordered a tokkuri of hot sake and edamame, and also thought about ordering some skewers. This restaurant was opened in March this year after the three stores, Nishi 4-jo, Honten, and Chuoten, which I occasionally visited, were consolidated. The capacity is 79 seats, which is fewer than the total number of seats at the three stores. Personally, I liked the small Honten store with about 20 seats in the basement of the Susukino Building (laughs). Because there were only counter seats and no aisle inside (laughs). So, with a tokkuri of hot sake and edamame in front of me, I compared the grilling method with other stores and ordered my usual chicken and pork skewers, and also tried something different like... the bacon-wrapped mochi and the wasabi chicken tenderloin skewers. Oh, the hot sake is good with a dry taste. I was surprised that the skewers arrived in about 10 minutes. Wow (laughs). At this rate, I thought I could finish in 30 minutes, so I asked the waitress if I could have a tokkuri. She said it was okay. Then, I ordered my last cup of hot sake. The skewers were tender and well-seasoned. The wasabi chicken tenderloin... the wasabi really hits the back of your nose (laughs). As I started to prepare to leave, the manager suddenly appeared and asked, "Are you leaving?" I quickly took out the bill from under the table and handed over 2,035 yen. The manager took me to the cashier, where I was told the change was 200 yen. I received the change from the cashier and was bid farewell by the manager. I really liked the Chuo Honten. I'll visit again. Thank you for the meal.
