On a weekday at 1:30 PM, there was a long line in front of the store, with about 30 people. We waited for 90 minutes to enter and 100 minutes to eat. Surprisingly, there were mostly Chinese people in line, even though group tours from mainland China were not yet allowed due to COVID-19.
3. Menu and atmosphere of Hanayama Udon Ginza 5th Generation Store
The popular menu item is the Oni Kamado (1,200 yen), which comes with pork, hot spring egg, green onions, and fish cake. The most popular dish is the Oni Gozen (Oni Kamado + a choice of small bowl for 1,890 yen). I chose the small bowl with tempura. The store has a counter seat with a decent space and a luxurious atmosphere. They served strong barley tea and a generous portion of delicious pickled vegetables.
