Walking down a street lined with stylish shops in Omotesando, you'll find a traditional udon and soba restaurant that has been popular for a long time. Despite the youthful vibe of the area, even elderly ladies visit this restaurant for its delicious food. Arriving just before the Saturday lunchtime rush at 13:45, we managed to get inside. While the lunch menu offers popular curry soup-based udon and soba dishes, the reason we came here was for the must-try "Shrimp Tempura Curry Soba" priced at 1500 yen. Unlike the bold red curry soup, this dish had a creamy white appearance, reminiscent of a rich and creamy flavor. The seasoning was mild and the texture was incredibly smooth, making it a dish you could savor forever. The shrimp tempura was large, and the lunch service included free rice, which could also be enjoyed as curry rice. It was divine, absolutely amazing. Just be careful not to splatter the curry while eating, but that's part of the fun when enjoying curry udon or soba. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I met up with my husband in Omotesando for lunch, and when I asked him what he wanted to eat, he said udon! So we went to Shimada. It was a bit hard to find as it was tucked away from the main street. Since it was before lunchtime, we were able to enter without waiting and ordered their famous curry udon. It was really delicious, the curry soup complemented the udon perfectly. Even after finishing the udon, I wanted to drink up the soup because it was so light and tasty. I ordered a normal portion, but it was quite generous and left me feeling satisfied both physically and emotionally. It was a happy time. Thank you for the meal!

Omotesando Station is just a 1.2-minute walk away, making it a very convenient location. The specialty dish is the shrimp tempura curry udon. The hand-made noodles are well-coated in the soup, and the curry soup is creamy and delicious. I was very satisfied. They also have soba noodles, so I would like to try that next time. Rice is also served, so I was able to enjoy curry rice as well.

I saw it on TV and decided to visit! The curry shrimp tempura udon was delicious - the soup had a strong dashi flavor and was easy to drink. I finished it all. The udon noodles, being hand-made, were smooth and had a good texture. The shrimp tempura was plump and crispy. However, the man standing at the counter was not very friendly, which was a bit intimidating. When I entered the shop, no one greeted me, so some people might be bothered by the attitude. It may not be recommended for those who value good customer service. But the service from the part-time staff on the second floor was normal! I thought it was an udon shop, but it felt more like a traditional izakaya, and it was quite lively! It seems like a good place to use as an izakaya as well. This time, I ate udon alone and left quickly!笑

This time, I visited the restaurant after watching a game at Jingu Stadium. We had a lot to eat and drink inside the stadium, so we decided to have a light meal before heading home with the person I watched the game with. We ordered two dishes: motsu-ni (simmered tripe) and pounded cucumber with whitebait. We left in less than an hour, but the restaurant was bustling with many customers. The taste was not bad, but the pricing was a bit high. After returning home, I realized that the curry udon was their recommended dish. If I have the chance, I might give it a try.

After watching a baseball game at the shrine, I visited Walk In. The clientele varied from local office workers, young people coming back from tennis, to foreigners. It was quite noisy, almost like using it as an izakaya. It was difficult to communicate with the person sitting across from me. Being a famous shop, the udon was delicious. The udon was medium-thin with a good texture. It wasn't slippery, but had a twist to it. All the side dishes were tasty as well. The dishes kept coming one after another, to the point where there was no space left on the table. It was necessary to quickly eat and clear the plates to make space. It's best not to expect good service.

I had curry udon at Shimada's, which is a place that can be used as a first stop with a variety of menu options. I tend to go there because there are many choices available. The second floor has tatami seating, but personally I find the table seating on the first floor more comfortable.

The soup is amazing. The air conditioning is strongest in the back right. It's not lined up like that, so it's recommended. ◆Rating Criteria 5.0: Number one in each category 4.9-4.5: Worth traveling for just to visit this restaurant 4.4-4.0: Worth going out of your way for, confidently recommend to friends 3.9-3.8: Will definitely go once a month if within 30 minutes from home 3.7-3.6: Will put on the revisit list 3.5-3.4: If looking for food and it's nearby, will go 3.3: Average score 3.2-3.1: Will go if there are no other restaurants available 3.0-2.6: Will go if a miracle happens 2.5-2.0: Will choose convenience store bento over this restaurant 1.9-1.0: Worst dining experience

During the Obon period, there are few individual stores open for business, but in Omotesando, there is a udon restaurant called "Teuchi Udon Soba Aoyama Shimada" that was open. I arrived 3 minutes before the opening time of 11:30 and there was already a line of 12 people. When the restaurant opened, I entered with 4 customers and the first floor was already full. Without any prior knowledge of the menu, I looked at the menu and was torn between the limited squid rice bowl and the "Tenseiro" cold udon for 1150 yen. Since it's either udon or soba, rice is free with udon, but most customers ordered without rice, opting for either Ebiten Curry Udon or Tenseiro Udon, with about half and half. I waited for about 10 minutes before my meal was served. The tempura consisted of shrimp, pumpkin, eggplant, and bamboo shoots. The hand-cut udon noodles were shiny and had a nice texture. When you add condiments to the noodle soup and eat the udon, you can enjoy a good balance of firmness and smoothness. The soup was slightly sweet. The tempura was crispy and the shrimp was plump. The pumpkin was sweet and delicious! Towards the end, they brought me some soba water, which I enjoyed. Although I felt like the udon portion was a bit small, the tempura made me feel full. I plan to go back another day to try the Ebiten Curry Udon.

I entered the restaurant around 8pm on a weekday, but it was full! It's best to make a reservation. The curry udon was creamy and delicious. There were also many side dishes, so it seems like a good place for a casual drink followed by udon to finish. This time, it was my second stop, so I shared the dashimaki tamago and curry udon. The cost performance isn't great due to the location, but the taste is delicious. The service is quite straightforward.

Everyone, do you know what day August 2nd is? The correct answer is Curry Udon Day! The Curry Udon 100 Year Innovation Project, a group that loves curry udon, established this day in 2010, which marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Curry Nanban. The reason why August 2nd was chosen is because Yokohama Curry Memorial Day is on June 2nd, and Udon Day is on July 2nd... so they decided to go with the next month. Although we have passed the commemorative day, I felt like having curry udon after a long time and visited Temudon, a soba restaurant located near Omotesando Station A4 Exit, right next to the famous Jumbo Yakitori restaurant Torimasa. The owner, Mr. Midori Shimada, came up with the popular curry udon after trial and error to offer new menu items in a young town. - Curry Soup Udon/Soba 1200 yen - Mochi Curry Soup Udon/Soba 1300 yen - Meat Curry Soup Udon/Soba 1400 yen - Shrimp Tempura Curry Soup Udon/Soba 1500 yen - Grated Radish Soba/Udon 1000 yen - Tempura Assorted Soba/Udon 1150 yen - Grated Yam Soba/Udon 1200 yen - Meat Assorted Soba/Udon 1050 yen - Chicken Assorted Soba/Udon 1050 yen - Tempura Soba/Udon 1200 yen * Rice, small dish, and pickles included. The owner's carefully blended roux with over 20 types of spices sautéed onions, chicken bone, pork bone, and 6 types of aromatic vegetables, and a soup made from it. The creamy richness with the depth of the aroma of spices and bonito dashi is well balanced, and it goes well with the slightly thin udon. Although I missed the commemorative day, the curry udon after a long time was delicious. Thank you for the meal! 。◕‿◕。

On Saturday at 9:00 PM, I visited this area where restaurants close early, so this place seems to be quite popular. It's more like an izakaya than an udon shop. I ordered beer, morokyu (cucumber with miso paste), and seiro udon with goma sauce. The wait was long, probably because it was busy, and there were some mix-ups with the orders. However, the udon was chewy and satisfying. Even though I was full, I found the appetizer menu to be extensive. I'd like to try the curry udon and nabeyaki udon next time! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively, filled with customers who seemed to be from the second or third place they visited. It was probably people stopping by after work or visiting the nearby shrine. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

It was my first visit. I think the curry udon in this color is a safe choice. The noodles were a bit soft and had a gentle flavor. It's nice that you can have unlimited rice refills. I wanted to have more, but I resisted. I finished everything with a satisfied feeling. Thank you for the meal.

The curry udon here is incredibly delicious! It's located in Omotesando, but the interior is not typical Omotesando style, which is nice. I had quite a bit to drink yesterday and wanted something comforting to eat, so it was just right! Apparently, rice comes with the lunch set from the start, but not at night, so I ordered it as an extra! It really goes well with the meal! I was feeling excited so I ended up ordering the nikujaga (simmered meat and potatoes) too, haha. It had a lot of meat on top, which was great!

Mochi curry soup udon / ¥1,300 This udon has a strong creamy impression, with a hint of broth and spice. The thin, smooth noodles are a distinctive feature. The mochi exceeds expectations in flavor.

We greeted inside and waited outside, but no one called us for quite some time. Eventually, we were seated after noticing empty seats. We waited too long for our food, almost 30 minutes, and it took over 60 minutes in total. The service definitely needs improvement. The udon noodles were slightly thin and angular, similar to Akita's Inaniwa udon, with a smooth and chewy texture. The soup had a rich vegetable broth flavor with a great aftertaste. The tempura had a crunchy batter that held up well in the soup, adding a nice texture contrast. Overall, the flavors were gentle yet delicious, with a good balance of richness and aroma.

"Udon is the main dish" Instagram https://instagram.com/alwaysudon/ TikTok where udon is the main dish https://www.tiktok.com/@alwaysudon Curry udon is famous here. I came because a friend wanted to try it. It's more like Kyoto-style curry udon than Tokyo-style. I think it's made by mixing curry powder with broth. The balance is not bad, but as for the udon itself, I feel like it could be a bit tastier. However, I guess this is how it is for lunch. Official blog https://alwaysudon.com/

It seems like it had been a long time since my last visit, about 11 years. Since it was my first stop, I tried not only the curry udon but also a variety of dishes. Ham cutlet, rolled omelette, assorted tempura, fried tofu, and pickled vegetables... There were so many options that it didn't feel like a typical udon restaurant. I ended up drinking more than I had planned. The curry udon for the finish was also delicious and satisfying.

I suddenly felt like eating udon, so I searched for a restaurant and found this place. I went to try their popular shrimp tempura curry udon. It was so delicious that words can't fully describe. I regret not adding rice... I will definitely come back for it next time.

I have some business to attend to in Omotesando a few times a month, and today's lunch was so delicious that I wish I had come to Shimada Handmade Soba sooner! The specialty here is curry udon, with the popular shrimp tempura curry udon served with free white rice! I couldn't resist indulging in it (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و Even though I may have had too many carbs (*´艸`), the creamy curry paired with thin udon noodles was absolutely delicious. The shrimp tempura was also quite large. It was my first time using rice as a side dish substitute!? I enjoyed it with pickles. When I finished the udon, I couldn't resist putting curry in the rice bowl, and eating it like a regular curry dish was so delicious that I might get addicted to it. Although it's not a place for chatting after meals, that's for another place. I will definitely visit here again. Thank you for the meal~✨✨❣️

I went to the restaurant while waiting for my test results at the hospital. The recommended dish was shrimp tempura curry udon, but because it was hot, I ordered tempura soba instead. The noodles were thin with a firm texture and smoothness, very delicious. The tempura included bamboo shoots, pumpkin, eggplant, and shrimp, with the shrimp being thick and tasty.
