In the middle of July, during a 3-day weekend, I visited Sangenjaya for the first time in years amidst the scorching heat that was likely to exceed 35 degrees Celsius. Taking precautions against heatstroke, I limited my activities and made sure to stay hydrated, taking breaks in air-conditioned facilities while exploring the area around the station. I stumbled upon a ramen shop called "Garyu" located off the 246 street, south of the station. This shop is known for being the 2nd most popular ramen shop in Sangenjaya according to Tabelog rankings. Luckily, there was no line outside, and only a few customers inside, so I didn't have to wait long to get in. The interior had a clean L-shaped counter where you could watch the kitchen. I ordered the following menu items (tax included): Chicken Chashu Ramen for 1150 yen and a half-boiled seasoned egg for 100 yen. The ramen featured a rich and clear chicken white broth made from shamo chicken, topped with two types of chicken chashu. The soup was light yet flavorful, with no hint of impurities. The thin straight noodles had a satisfying chewiness, and the various toppings like finely sliced green onions, menma, and a half-seasoned egg enhanced the overall taste. The shop also offers a selection of alcoholic beverages, making it a great place to enjoy ramen and drinks. Overall, it was a delicious meal experience.

This is a shop that serves chemical-free chicken paitan ramen, and I have visited several times. When I went after a long time, the menu seemed to have changed a little. The green onions that I always topped with were gone. Disappointed, I ordered the ramen. The chicken flavor and richness are gentle and body-friendly, so I drank it all up. They also serve alcohol, and there were customers drinking from noon. I will visit again!

I visited this place for lunch in Sangenjaya, which I had not visited before. The restaurant is located in a corner of a shopping street just a few minutes' walk from Sangenjaya. The interior has only a counter, and I personally liked that there were bottles of alcohol placed everywhere. It operates on an order system, but the owner is quiet, so those who are used to ticket machines may feel a bit nervous. Today, I tried the Chicken Shio Ramen for 1100 yen. It was a bowl of ramen with a beautiful clear chicken broth that I had been curious about. The soup had a gentle spread of chicken flavor and was very tasty! The noodles were thin straight noodles that paired well with the soup. The toppings were charred pork chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots in a simple composition. The tender chashu was very delicious and would be great as a snack with alcohol! They also have a wide variety of alcohol and snacks, so it's a great place to use as an izakaya at night! I would like to try the chicken chashu next time.

Had lunch at Garyu. It was my first visit and I was a bit nervous, but they welcomed me warmly. I had the Chicken Char Siu Ramen for 1150 yen. It was served in about 5 minutes. The clear chicken broth soup was beautiful with vibrant green Kujo green onions, thick slices of chicken breast and thigh char siu, and menma. The noodles were thin and almost straight. The soup had a strong chicken flavor, but was a bit salty. The noodles had a good texture and mixed well with the soup. The char siu was delicious, with the chicken breast cooked at a low temperature and seasoned with pepper. It seemed like the chicken breast was stewed thoroughly and lightly seared, which was also tasty. The Kujo green onions were flavorful, and the menma was soft and delicious. I will try a different ramen next time.

In the bustling triangle area of Sangenjaya filled with drinking establishments, I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around after a night of drinking. The enticing aroma of chicken white broth drew me in. I ordered the recommended chicken white broth ramen. The soup, rich with the flavor of chicken, was surprisingly easy to drink. It had a lightness to it with a hint of Japanese flavor. The rich soup had a smooth mouthfeel, and I couldn't stop slurping it up with the spoon. The medium-thick noodles paired well with the soup. The thick slices of chashu were delicious too. Before I knew it, I had finished the whole bowl. I definitely want to eat here again.

Visited on the final day of the three-day weekend to give my stomach a break after drinking too much for several days. There were a few empty seats in the restaurant, so I was able to enter without waiting. Although I was undecided on the menu, I decided to go with the meat noodles (1400 yen) that other customers were also enjoying. If I didn't feel full enough, I planned to order rice later. The dish arrived in just 10 minutes. I was impressed by the generous amount of chashu neatly arranged in the bowl. Unlike the recent trendy ramen with a strong punch, this ramen had a gentle and delicious flavor that soaked through. When I ordered, I thought the price was a bit high for the meat toppings, but there were twice as many thick and large pieces of meat as I had expected. It was incredibly delicious. I wish I had ordered extra noodles... Some reviews mention that it is light and universally appealing, and it is true that the balance is perfect in every aspect, making it a very delicious bowl that you will definitely finish.

It was a scorching hot day on Saturday, with no wait for a table before noon. The staff was working hard solo. At first, I thought the chicken soup was a bit salty, but as I kept eating, it started to taste better and better, which was strange. The yuzu pepper they give for free also goes well with the soup. In the end, I almost finished all the soup. The char siu was also delicious. They use two different parts of the chicken, and both are tasty. Delicious!

I got off at Sangenjaya and decided to enjoy some ramen. There are many charming restaurants in this area, but first, I went to GARYU, a famous spot for chicken white broth soup. I ordered the Chicken Chashu Ramen with both thigh and breast meat for 1,150 yen. The soup was light yet flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The noodles were chewy and absorbed the delicious soup well. The chicken chashu was rich in flavor and really stood out in the refreshing broth. They also offer Japanese sake, so next time I plan to enjoy some sake with a side dish before finishing off with another bowl of ramen.

It's incredibly delicious! When ordering the Shio (salt-based) ramen, my favorite is the Niku-men (meat noodles) which includes chicken thigh, chicken breast, and pork chashu, each of them being very delicious. The green onions, soup, and noodles go really well together. The thin noodles have a nice chewy texture and are tasty. The soup is so good that I always end up finishing it all. I highly recommend it to those who haven't been there yet. In the evening, they also have appetizers and shochu, making it a great place to have a quick drink before heading home.

It's been a while since my last visit. I think the last time I came was before the pandemic, so it's been about 3 years. On this day, I ordered the chicken chashu ramen. It had been a while since I last had it, and to be honest... "Was it this delicious before?" was my honest impression. The white broth had a thick texture, yet it was smooth and elegant on the palate. The chicken chashu was so tender that it could be easily bitten through, and the thin noodles were well-coated in the soup and had a good bite to them. The balance of noodles, chicken, and green onions was exquisite! Despite being light, it had a rich umami and gentle flavor... the soup is just delicious. I usually don't drink the soup when I eat ramen, but the soup at this restaurant is so good that I want to drink it all! You can't experience this gentle flavor of ramen at other places. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

The shop was so popular that there was a line forming even before it opened. The owner managed everything alone and cooked each bowl of ramen carefully after receiving the order. The ramen looked simple but had a deep flavor. I added yuzu pepper midway for a different taste and finished it quickly. I would definitely want to eat here again when I'm nearby.

I found a new ramen shop called "麺屋臥龍鶏チャーシュー麺ロックオン" that caught my interest at San-cha. Their chicken broth ramen with chicken chashu made from thigh and breast meat is incredibly delicious! The chashu is tender and flavorful. The noodles and soup complement each other well, and despite the rich appearance, the soup is surprisingly light. The interior of the shop has a cool izakaya vibe, which adds to the overall experience. It's a ramen that makes you want to come back for more!

I ordered ramen with various types of chashu at a ramen shop a short walk from Sangenjaya Station. The soup was made from dried sardines. It had a gentle flavor with a strong dashi from the dried sardines, and even though I'm not a big fan of ramen, I found this to be delicious. They also offer chashu as a side dish and have a menu for drinking with alcohol, with some customers enjoying a leisurely drink.

Today, I finished my errands in the morning and decided to visit "Garyu" in Sangenjaya, a place I had been eyeing for a while. Last time I tried to visit, they were closed (on Tuesdays), so this was my revenge visit. I arrived around 1:00 PM on a weekday and was able to get in without waiting. The interior had a counter-style seating surrounding the kitchen. Since it was my first time, I ordered the ramen for ¥1,100. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The thin noodles were smooth and the soup was packed with umami flavor. Everything was satisfying, but the pork chashu was especially tender and delicious. It was so good that I'm thinking of trying a different menu item next time. A very tasty experience, 3.7 out of 5.

I visited the restaurant after 7 pm and was able to enter without waiting in line. I ordered the chicken chashu ramen. The owner's noodle straining technique was impressive. The chicken thigh was juicy as expected. The chicken breast was tender and moist, very delicious. Each chashu had a different seasoning, so it was enjoyable. The soup was a light chicken broth. The thin noodles paired well with it. Thank you for the meal.

Recently, prices have been rising in various aspects, including the food and beverage industry. Many restaurants have also increased their prices. Will they compromise on taste and keep prices the same, or maintain the quality and raise prices? Sancha's "Garyu" has chosen the latter option. They have revamped their menu format while continuing to deliver delicious dishes. The standard chicken broth ramen is priced at 1,100 yen. Changing to miso soup costs an additional 150 yen, and switching to dried fish soup is an extra 100 yen. This time, I tried the "Miso Ramen (1,250 yen)" and was impressed by the large slices of chashu, which have increased in size from before. The taste is truly Garyu! I finished every drop of the soup, as it was so delicious. This restaurant offers a truly valuable bowl of ramen. The secret to their success for over 15 years lies in this deliciousness. I definitely plan to visit again.

The positioning of the new coronavirus infection control law will be lowered to the fifth category from the 8th of next month. As our lives are gradually returning to pre-corona times, there are concerns about the mass disposal of acrylic partitions. What should we do with them? If we throw them away, we might need them again, but they can be a nuisance if left in a corner. Today's review is about "Garyu" located a 5-minute walk from Sangenjaya Station. Opened in November 2006, they use minimal animal oils and avoid chemical seasonings and white sugar. The main soup is made with Okukujigun chicken broth, creating a cloudy broth. The name "Garyu" means "sleeping dragon," given by a person named Pang De Gong to Zhuge Liang. I visited during lunchtime on a weekday. The interior is counter-style with a self-payment system, so be careful not to dine and dash. The restaurant has a good selection of alcohol bottles, which is rare for a ramen shop. The owner runs the place alone, and there is an acrylic partition on the counter, a tissue box, and jazz-rock music playing in the background. I ordered the "Niku-men" for 1400 yen with an extra serving of noodles for 200 yen. It comes with chicken chashu, seared pork chashu, half-seasoned egg, green onions, and bamboo shoots as toppings. The clear soup has a delicious taste without any off-flavors. The straight noodles are slightly soft, and the three types of meat allow for a variety of flavors. The noodles contain lotus root, giving them a unique texture. I also tried the yuzu pepper topping, which was a perfect match for the soup. Overall, the ramen was delicious, and I also recommend trying the niboshi and miso flavors. I felt like going home after the meal, but I decided to stick around a bit longer. Thank you for the meal.

Recommended and finally got to try it! The gentle saltiness brings out the umami flavor, which I really enjoyed. It was my first time, so I ordered a variety of dishes, and I think I prefer pork for the ramen chashu. I would definitely want to go back to this restaurant when I'm nearby. Thank you for the delicious meal!

A few minutes' walk from Sangenjaya Station South Exit. Visited during lunchtime with no waiting. Ordered the ramen for 1100 yen. Visited based on a recommendation from TRY. The toppings were seared pork chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, and simple. It wasn't explosively delicious, but had a subtly delicious taste. Seemed like a popular place with many repeat customers. ^_^

I was finally able to visit this place that has caught my eye with its traditional Japanese restaurant appearance, after crossing Route 246 south from Sangenjaya and passing through the shopping street. The shop is often crowded, but I arrived on a weekday afternoon after 9 o'clock and was able to get in right away. There are about 9 seats at the counter. The shop owner, who initially seemed intimidating, greeted me. Looking at the menu, there were various appealing ramen options such as chicken shio ramen, miso, niboshi, and cold noodles. Since it was my first visit, I decided to order the ramen. The menu stated that they can only cook 2 bowls at a time and that the chicken breast chashu is half-cooked, showing the owner's attention to detail. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes. It was a simple yet visually and tastefully satisfying chicken broth soup with thin noodles. The broth was rich in flavor but not overpowering, delivering a creamy texture and aroma without overshadowing the noodles. The chashu was tender and melted in the mouth. I felt that I might not get a stomachache even with such a rich broth. Despite being a small shop, it was a ramen filled with dedication. Thank you for the meal.

The grilled chashu ramen with tender and delicious chashu was great! The soup was chicken white broth, a bit different from what I've had before. I was expecting it to be richer, but it was slightly different. The straight noodles were okay, but personally I didn't feel they matched well with the soup.
