Once you know about this place, you might not be able to eat at other restaurants anymore. Here, only the most delicious seasonal items are lined up, so even if you're not familiar with them, you can enjoy tasty dishes. The oysters are large and creamy with a rich flavor. The shrimp has an incredible amount of eggs and the meat is firm and sweet. The texture of the surf clam is so surprising that you'll wonder if it's really a clam. Being able to bring your own alcohol is also a great plus.

This shop in the market offers dishes that can be eaten on the spot. I chose oysters, sea urchin, and surf clams. The oysters were quite affordable, but unfortunately mine was quite salty. It may be due to individual differences, as my friend's oyster was apparently delicious. The sea urchin was tasty, but not so cheap that I feel like eating it casually. For oyster lovers, I would recommend it.

June 9-10, 2023 Hokkaido Trip Ikeda Shoten 011-251-7749 Sapporo, Chuo-ku, Minami 3-jo Higashi 2 https://tabelog.com/hokkaido/A0101/A010103/1056692/ On the morning of the second day, we visited the popular Sapporo Nijo Market, a favorite spot of the YouTuber Tacchan. It's located near the city center, so there were a lot of tourists. You can bring your own alcohol here, so we bought beer and shochu from a convenience store beforehand. We tried the following: - Senhoji oysters: 250 yen each x2 - Fresh scallop sashimi: 350 yen - Abalone sashimi: 1000 yen - Akkeshi oysters: 250 yen each The oysters and scallops were so delicious that we ended up ordering more. The abalone was fresh and had a nice texture, although we thought it might taste better grilled. The Akkeshi oysters were lighter compared to the Senhoji oysters. In total, we spent 2310 yen including tax. We also mentioned our excitement over the Seicomart store and their great selection of PB products. For breakfast the next day, we enjoyed a delicious and affordable katsudon for 550 yen. #IkedaShoten #NijoMarket #Oysters #Scallops #SenhojiOysters #AbaloneSashimi #HokkaidoCuisine #HokkaidoSeafood #SapporoCuisine #SapporoSeafood #Foodstagram #Foodie #ShellfishStagram #ShellfishLover #Tabelog #FoodLovers #DrinkLovers #TravelLovers #TravelStagram #TravelDiary #Seicomart #Katsudon #SapporoTVTower #TacchanChannel

It seems that in the past, there were more options for casual dining or standing and drinking at Nijo Market. However, now only approved shops are allowed to serve food to be consumed outside the store. I visited Ikeda Shoten, where I enjoyed Hokki, Button Shrimp, and Scallop, with each dish costing 4000 yen for two servings, and an additional 1100 yen for Turban Shell. We brought our own canned beer. It was a delightful meal.

At Akkeshi, two large oysters for 300 yen each and two medium oysters for 250 yen each. The Akkeshi oysters are a bit salty, but creamy and delicious. The Hokkaido oysters are even better, with a crunchy texture. Arrived on Sunday at 7:45 am and chose this place because the neighboring seats were full. Being able to choose and eat affordable oysters is a unique experience for tourists. Very satisfying.

I go to this place for breakfast every day during my stay. I enjoy meeting the staff. I always have canned beer while eating fresh oysters and crab. This time, I treated myself to takeout hairy crab and sea urchin. I got the salted salmon roe from another place. I brought them back to the hotel and had a luxurious breakfast.

You can enjoy fresh oysters from Sanfeng at this restaurant for 350 yen for large, 300 yen for medium, and 200 yen for small sizes. They are all plump and creamy, making it a great deal at this price. The small ones are particularly affordable and flavorful, absolutely delicious. I arrived at 8:45 am on a weekday. I originally planned to eat at the neighboring restaurant, but they told me they only serve oysters after 11 am, so I decided to eat here instead. Despite all oysters being from the same place, they were all delicious.

I enjoyed some fresh oysters from Akkeshi (300 yen) while waiting at Takee Sushi. They were large and delicious, with a milky and rich sweetness that I love. I wanted to have another one, but I resisted since I was waiting for sushi. If I still feel like it later, I'll come back for more (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

I was born and raised in Otaru, so I wasn't really interested in Nijo Market at first! (Otaru has cheaper and fresher seafood, right? haha) ① When I first visited, it was recommended by a drinking enthusiast friend. It was my first time drinking at a market! We bring our own alcohol, usually from a convenience store. For tourists, I recommend the Seicomart in Tanukikoji 2-chome! (It's the most popular convenience store in Hokkaido, but you can also find it in Saitama and Ibaraki) They have a wide selection of unique alcohol that you can't find elsewhere! (It might be a good idea to put them in a cooler bag during the summer) I had Yuzu Highball and Green Tea Highball! Now, onto the market! Nothing beats fresh oysters! We got the biggest one! If you want to eat inside, just let the staff know and they'll prepare a table for you. Be careful though, there's a puddle of water underneath, so watch out if you're wearing sandals! The huge oyster was delicious! I like to eat it as is, feeling the ocean vibes. They only had lemon as a condiment, but it was so tasty that I had to get another one, and they gave me an even bigger one! I was surprised! Thank you so much! Even though I'm from Otaru, it's nice to try something different once in a while! It was delicious and fun! ② This time, I brought my drinking buddies from Tokyo! We tried the biggest oyster again for a quick drink! It was delicious! If you're visiting, you should definitely check this place out! Don't forget to bring your own alcohol! There are ashtrays on the roadside of Nijo Market, so you can smoke there. The sea urchin might be twice as expensive as Otaru's (but when you factor in transportation costs, it might be the same). When I first visited, the best quality Bafun Uni from Rebun was ¥8800! I was jealous of the person next to me who was eating it!

When I return to my hometown, I always start by eating oysters here first. The Mocha from Gotsubo nearby is delicious, and you can order it on the spot. This time, I had the oysters from Toshima for 200 yen, they were rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. I will definitely come back again. Might even come back tomorrow! 😄

Let's go to Sapporo. The next morning after coming to drink during the pandemic, I canceled the hotel's breakfast buffet. I bought beer and sake at a convenience store and went to Ikeda Shoten at Nijo Market. I purchased it at the storefront, ate it inside the store, and bringing your own alcohol is also allowed. The oysters were from two different places. Both were so delicious that I couldn't just have one bite, with a chewy texture and rich flavor! Both were winners! The scallop had a thick texture and a strong flavor! It was great to bring not only beer but also sake! Oh, thank you for disposing of the empty cans. Drinks: Sapporo Classic, Kikusui (brought in) Food: Fresh oysters from Senhojiri and Akkeshi, scallop sashimi

I had always wanted to visit this restaurant after watching videos online. When I arrived around 1pm, there was only one other customer. It must have been much busier before the pandemic. I ordered: 2 servings of oysters for 150 yen each, 2 servings of botan shrimp for 350 yen each, 1 large scallop for 500 yen, 2 servings of hokkigai for 400 yen each, and a small bottle of ikura for 700 yen to take home. I waited near the entrance for about 5 minutes until my order was ready. An older lady then led me to a spot in the back of the restaurant for standing and eating. The oysters were large and creamy, the botan shrimp were surprisingly ordinary, the scallop was sweet and chewy, and the hokkigai was fresh and delicious. I had never tried hokkigai before, but it was so good that I ordered more. The ikura had a light and refreshing sauce, which I liked. Everything was fresh and cheap! I don't know why I hadn't been here before. If this restaurant was closer, I would come here every day! Thank you for the delicious meal.

This year, I couldn't go on my usual solo trips to different regions in spring and summer due to the new coronavirus. However, as the number of infected cases has decreased, I decided to visit Hokkaido to meet my friend in Otaru. I departed from Haneda early in the morning and arrived at New Chitose Airport. Before heading to Otaru, I wanted to visit two shops in Sapporo, so I first went to Nijo Market in Sapporo. I bought a zero-carb beer at a convenience store near the market to be kind to my body. My main reason for visiting Nijo Market this time was because I felt like eating sea urchin. Sea urchin is said to be in season during the summer, but it is available somewhere in Hokkaido all year round due to its vast area. I walked around the market and ended up at Ikeda Shoten, where I visited last year as well. They had a small dish of sea urchin in a sieve called "Zaru Namuni" (2200 yen each), which was perfect for me dining alone, so I chose that. I also couldn't resist trying the live oysters and button shrimp that I had last year. I chose the live oysters from Senhoji (300 yen each) and the extra-large button shrimp (300 yen each). I was seated at a table in the back of the shop. There was an old man sitting at the next table, who had also come alone like me. He seemed to be in a good mood after finishing two bottles of cold sake that he had probably brought from somewhere. Now, my order arrived. First, I made a toast with the zero-carb beer. Drinking sake in a faraway place like Hokkaido on a weekday morning tasted especially delicious! - Zaru Namuni (2200 yen each): When I took a bite, the sweetness and richness spread in my mouth. It's also nice to eat it with a little bit of wasabi instead of soy sauce. The sieve was small, about 10cm in diameter, but as I nibbled on it little by little, there was quite a lot of it as a snack. - Senhoji live oysters (300 yen each): The shopkeeper (I'm also an old man, but...) said that the Senhoji oysters are creamy, and he was right. The plump and firm texture of the flesh with a hint of saltiness made it go well with the sake. - Extra-large button shrimp (300 yen each): These were shiny and tender! They had a satisfying texture and were delicious. While enjoying these dishes, I heard the landlady asking, "Are you okay?" I turned towards the voice and saw the old man next to me, who seemed to be leaving but was swaying and almost bumping into the displayed products. Now, before I start swaying too, I should head to the next shop. It was a delicious meal. I would like to come back again next year. Thank you for the feast.

This is a store that sells food at the storefront. You can buy food and they will cook it for you to eat at the tables and chairs in the back. I thought Senboushi oysters were delicious, so I tried them, but unfortunately they were empty inside. Maybe they were post-spawning? Oysters are unpredictable until you open them, right?

There are several shops at Nijo Market where you can buy food and eat it on the spot, but this is my favorite shop. I especially recommend it for the abundance of oysters and the low prices! On this day, they had Senpouji and Akkeshi oysters, so I couldn't resist buying both. Next to them, my favorite scallops were on display, so I ended up buying those too... and while I was at it, I also got some scallops. The shop will shuck them for you in the back, and you can enjoy them at the tables inside the shop. Additionally, if you buy beer from the convenience store across the street from Nijo Market, you can enjoy it with the delicious oysters and shellfish. Feel free to bring your own drinks, and enjoy the large, plump oysters at less than half the price in Tokyo. The oyster tasting was fantastic!

Nijo Market, located near the center of Sapporo, opens early in the morning as it is a market. In winter, people come here to enjoy fresh oysters. On this particular day, there were two types of oysters available: one from Senpoushi and the other from Akkeshi called "Nagaemon." I decided to try the branded oyster "Nagaemon" from Akkeshi. The Akkeshi oysters had plump and sweet flesh, while the Senpoushi oysters had firm and large flesh compared to the shell. Even though Akkeshi and Kushiro are only about 20km apart, there are noticeable differences in their characteristics. I also added some scallops, but unfortunately they didn't come with their shells. I enjoyed them with the beer I brought along, Sapporo Classic's Flabin. Everything I ate was made from local ingredients. I paired the oysters with a peaty whisky, specifically Caol Ila, which I dipped rather than poured over. It was incredibly delicious. Affordable and fresh, I definitely want to come back at least once a month this season. Thank you for the meal.

On the final day of a trip to Hokkaido with friends, we visited a seafood market aiming for a morning drink at 7:30 AM. We brought Sapporo Classic 500ml and were ready to go! However, they were out of fresh sea urchin, so we had to put that on hold. We bought Botan shrimp at 350 yen each x 3, fresh oysters at 250 yen each x 3, and medium fatty tuna for 1800 yen. We also bought saltwater sea urchin from another store and started our morning drink! The medium fatty tuna was served as sashimi, the oysters were shucked, and we were provided with soy sauce, wasabi, and lemon juice. Additionally, the mother at the store kindly opened the package of the saltwater sea urchin that we had trouble opening. She mentioned that the saltwater sea urchin had a lot of water, so the amount was small and a bit watery. Despite this light criticism, the freshness of the seafood at the market was excellent, the staff were friendly, and we enjoyed our seafood gourmet experience. We would definitely like to visit again!

On the 4th day of the Hokkaido expedition. Today is the day to head from Sapporo to Otaru. But before that, I went to Nijo Market again, just like yesterday. I stumbled upon a place where you can eat fresh oysters, just like yesterday. Yesterday I had grilled oysters, so today I decided to have them raw. When I asked the owner if they had alcohol, he said they didn't, so I bought a zero-carb beer from a nearby convenience store and brought it back to the restaurant. I chose oysters from four different types displayed at the storefront: Senpoushi from Erimo (300 yen), Nagae Mon from Akkeshi (250 yen), and Super Jumbo from Akkeshi (350 yen). I was then directed to a standing table at the back of the restaurant. While sipping on my beer, the oysters arrived on a plate with a bottle of Pokka Lemon. The Senpoushi oysters were indeed milky as advertised at the storefront. The Nagae Mon oysters were smaller but had a rich flavor. The Super Jumbo oysters had thick meat and a satisfying texture. All of them had no fishy taste and were the most delicious raw oysters I've ever had. After thoroughly enjoying the delicious oysters, I paid the bill. As I was about to take the empty beer cans I brought, the owner told me to leave them as they would dispose of them. I thanked him for the hospitality.

On the final day of the Hokkaido expedition, in the morning of the 5th day, I moved from Otaru to Sapporo. When it comes to the morning in Sapporo, you can't help but visit Nijo Market. I bought a zero-carb beer from a convenience store and headed to Ikeda Shoten, where I had visited yesterday. I looked at the fresh seafood displayed at the storefront and since I had compared oysters yesterday, today I decided to go for two Botan shrimp (350 yen per piece) and a North scallop (500 yen). I enjoyed my zero-carb beer at the standing table in the back while waiting. After a while, the shrimp and scallop were served with soy sauce. The Botan shrimp was plump and had a sweet taste when I took a bite. Sucking the miso from the shell was irresistible. This is delicious! The North scallop had a crunchy texture and a refreshing scent unique to shellfish. This is also delicious. I finished my zero-carb beer and said thank you for the delicious meal. Fish and shellfish are definitely best enjoyed at the market.

Whenever I go back to my hometown, I always stop by this Japanese restaurant to eat oysters. They are cheap and delicious, so I can't help but indulge. The prices vary depending on the season and where they are caught, but they are usually around 200 to 250 yen. They will prepare them for you right there. Even though I'm from Hokkaido, I think they are delicious. So if you are visiting Hokkaido, the cost performance is good, so definitely give them a try!
