I couldn't eat button shrimp at Takee Sushi, so I had button shrimp (500 yen) and raw oysters (300 yen) at this store instead. The prices vary depending on the size, but you can eat them cheaply for 200-300 yen. I will tell you the taste and size of the raw oysters. Milky and large in size. The size is large and 300 yen is a great deal. The taste is milky as desired, rich and delicious. The button shrimp was slightly frozen? I couldn't taste the unique crunchy texture of the button shrimp. This time, I had no luck with the button shrimp. It was fun to experience the taste and atmosphere of the market. Thank you for the meal.

It's the best^_^ The breakfast is amazing. I love oysters. I thought about buying and sending them, but they taste better when eaten on the spot^_^ So I decided to eat them here. They are creamy, big, and delicious^_^ The shrimp and abalone were also delicious^_^ The good thing about the market is that it's cheap and tasty^_^ And of course, there is a wide variety^_^ Even though they sell them at the airport, I still think the market is the best^_^ It's recommended to go early in the morning because there are a lot of customers^_^

On the final day of my 3-night, 4-day trip to Hokkaido, I still hadn't had enough of "hokki clams" and needed to stay near WINS Sapporo, so I went to Nijo Market! At "Sakaimoto Shoten" in Nijo Market, they prepare and serve the products sold in the store right there, allowing you to eat at the table in the back. While enjoying the chilled local sake "Kunimare" from Masumoe-cho purchased beforehand at Seiko Mart on Tanukikoji Street, I indulged in hokki clams, scallops, oysters from Funka Bay, and large button shrimp, as well as the premium brand oysters from Akkeshi called "Maruemon". The live and fresh seafood from Hokkaido at Nijo Market was amazing!

We enjoyed a seafood feast at a shop where you can eat what's lined up behind the fishmonger. They offer items like additive-free sea urchin for 3500 yen, live clams for 1000 yen, Botan shrimp for 400 yen, small shrimp for 400 yen, spear squid for 600 yen, live oysters from Konbu Mori for 125 yen, and live oysters from Akkeshi for 125 yen. It was a seafood extravaganza!

There is a shop where you can buy and have freshly cooked seafood from the market on the spot. They offer large Botan shrimp for 450 yen, large oysters from Kunboku for 200 yen, and small oysters from Akkeshi for 125 yen. Oysters come in various types and sizes from different regions in Hokkaido.

In April 2022, at the fish market in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, located near the tourist area, there is a fishmonger who offers fresh and reasonably priced seafood for locals. The place also serves as a supplier for restaurants. They have a practical space at the back where you can prepare and consume your purchases. They don't sell drinks, so you can bring your own alcohol from a nearby convenience store. They offer a variety of fresh oysters from five different regions, ranging from light to rich flavors, with large sizes priced at a bargain of 150-200 yen each. The taste of the ocean is delightful. The fresh bluefin tuna sashimi, priced at 1300 yen, is of high quality with no need to thaw, making it easy to eat with its tender texture. Although it may seem intimidating at first, you will soon enjoy a delightful meal with drinks. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On the second day in Sapporo on November 4th, after checking out of the hotel around 10 am, I spent some time at the Starbucks on the 1st floor. To pass the time until lunch, we decided to visit Nijo Market. We arrived before 11 am and found it quiet, probably due to it being a weekday morning. We had already decided on ramen for lunch, so we were just planning to look around. However, when we were looking at the items displayed in front of a certain shop, the staff asked us if we wanted to try some. We ended up ordering two oysters and one scallop. They asked us if we preferred the oysters to be rich or light in flavor. We chose the rich flavor from Kushiro (Maruemon). The oysters were 250 yen each, and the extra-large scallop was 400 yen. We were invited to a work table and chairs to enjoy the freshly opened seafood. The oysters from Kushiro were not particularly plump-looking, but they surprised us with an incredibly rich flavor, almost like milk from the sea! The scallop, as we had experienced the day before, was still amazing when fresh. The texture was firm and you could feel the fibers when chewing, without any slimy feeling. And the taste was light, refreshing, and sweet. For travelers with limited dining opportunities in Sapporo, this was a very much appreciated dining experience.

Fresh oysters for 200 yen, minced surf clams for 400 yen, minced abalone for 600 yen. The oysters are small but have a good flavor. They are rich in taste with a slightly crunchy texture. The surf clams have a soft sweetness and are also delicious. However, the abalone is quite tough and was a bit of a disappointment. It might have been better to go for a larger size. The old lady's lively and amusing way of calling in customers adds to the atmosphere.

The photo is quite old, but the prices are really cheap so it's perfect for this time of year!! Located inside Nijo Market, I thought it was for tourists but this shop is different!! The owner, who runs a certain izakaya, told me about it and I was surprised by how cheap it was when I visited!! They have oysters for as low as 100-200 yen each from various regions. Scallops and surf clams are around 200-300 yen each!! They also have button shrimp, surf smelt, sea urchin, and more. They have a wide variety!! You can also eat at the shop. It's fresh and very delicious, so I recommend it♡ Thank you for the meal(´ω` )

I stopped by Nijo Market on my way home to buy ingredients for a home drinking session. Surprisingly, there were not many tourists around. I usually don't post about it, but today I'll write to liven up Nijo Market. I bought two extra-large scallops for 300 yen each, three thick oysters from Akkeshi for 150 yen each, and two red shrimp for 250 yen each, totaling 1,700 yen (including tax) for snacks with alcohol. We had them as sashimi and steamed, and the meaty extra-large scallops were thick and sweet, a real delicacy! The red shrimp had a rich flavor that made my nose tingle (laughs). The oysters also had a delicious sea flavor that lingered in the nose. We enjoyed them with YEBISU beer and sake from Hokkaido Shrine, having a relaxing time at home.

On February 23, 2020 (Saturday) around 11 a.m., the market will be held from around 7 a.m. I thought it was only in the morning, but it seems to be open during the day, so you can enjoy it even after checking out of the hotel! Here, you can eat seafood such as oysters as sashimi at extremely low prices!! Oysters start at 130 yen...?!?! Even the larger ones are only 300 yen...?!?! You can't eat them at a restaurant for this price...! You can also eat the eggs of the button shrimp. I saw it for the first time... it's like a modest sea grape. And above all, it's fresh. They were alive until just a moment ago, probably. The deliciousness, freshness, and cost performance are the best I've ever experienced. This is a must-try in Hokkaido. There is also a larger-scale Sapporo market, but even in the small Nijo Market, you can fully enjoy Hokkaido!

We relaxed at the hotel until the last minute, then strolled around Nijo Market for lunch. We decided to eat at a small table in a corner of a fishmonger's shop. We ordered some scallops and oysters, both were big and delicious. The scallops were sweet and thick, while the oysters were plump and flavorful. We also tried some big prawns which were firm and tasty. I personally enjoyed some creamy shirako as well. It would have been perfect if they had some hot sake, but unfortunately, they didn't serve alcohol. It felt like a little party sitting there and enjoying our food. The seats were limited, so we had to wait for a table to open up. Eating there made the food taste even better. I will definitely stop by this place again next time I visit!

I ordered two oysters for 150 yen each and a surf clam for 350 yen at a place along the street of Nijo Market. They cooked them right there and the fresh oysters were easy to eat and rich in flavor. It was my first time trying raw oysters and I was satisfied. The surf clam was served as sashimi and it was delicious. The ordering process was casual and had a market-like atmosphere.

06/27/2019 (Foodie Adventure) ❤️ I tried two large Botan shrimp that were freshly peeled on the spot. They weren't completely transparent, but they were big and delicious. The tail part might have lost some freshness, but the meat was tasty! It's great that you can enjoy foodie adventures like this!

While looking for souvenirs, I stopped by Nijo Market for some food tasting. This shop is located on the main street and they sell fresh seafood that can be prepared on the spot for you to eat. And it's cheap! [Purchased items] ☆Oysters ☆Scallops ☆Spot prawns I bought the seafood and they prepared it for me on the spot. I tried different types of oysters from Kunbimori, Chitose, and Lake Saroma. The prices vary depending on the size, but even the most expensive ones were in the 200 yen range, so it's very reasonable. The spot prawns even came with eggs! I recommend stopping by for a visit while sightseeing.

I decided to explore the famous Nijo Market in Sapporo, which is known as the kitchen of the locals and has been around for over 100 years. The market seemed a bit quiet, possibly due to the recent earthquake, with some shops closed and fewer tourists around. Despite this, the market was still lively with vendors trying to attract customers, especially with their eye-catching crabs on display. I tried a type of crab called "Ibara-gani" which wasn't as visually appealing but tasted good when freshly boiled. I also couldn't resist trying the famous Saroma Lake oysters, which were being sold at a higher price. Overall, the market had a mix of interesting shops but some of the vendors could improve their customer service.

Basically, it is a shop, not a restaurant. However, they will prepare and serve the food for you on the spot, and you can eat it there as well. It is a standing style of eating at simple tables set up on the sidewalk. They do not serve alcohol, but you can bring your own. Nearby shops have cassette stoves where you can grill your food yourself, but if you prefer to eat the seafood raw, this place is recommended. The button shrimp platter is only 1000 yen, large oysters are 150 yen each, and scallops with the shell attached are 200 yen each. These prices are incredibly reasonable. Furthermore, everything is fresh and delicious. The seafood here is much tastier than the shrimp in regular seafood bowls. The only downside is that it is on the sidewalk and there are only two spots, so you can't stay for long.

I was struggling to decide which restaurant to choose for my 1000th review, but I chose this place where I felt the kindness of the people. Since the last time was incredibly delicious, I wanted to eat here again. Without doing any research, I thought the market would be open early in the morning (around 6 am) so I visited, but I was worried when I saw other shops closed. Luckily, this shop was preparing and when I asked, the lady kindly said "okay" with a smile. This time, I had scallops, and they took the time to prepare them nicely even though they were still getting ready to open. While it is true that you can encounter great service at expensive restaurants, I was very happy that this shop, which costs less than 1000 yen, considered the customer's perspective. I want to continue finding hidden gems by exploring shops on my own rather than relying solely on guidebooks or the internet. In Sapporo, there are two main markets, Nijo Market and Central Market, but I often see harsh comments about both online. Without really knowing the truth, I visited Central Market during the Snow Festival and it seemed normal (maybe because I didn't buy anything), so this time I went to Nijo Market early in the morning. It is conveniently located near Odori Street, making it easy to access from hotels in Sapporo. Since I missed out on eating oysters the day before, I was looking for a place where I could eat them on the spot and found this shop. - Kombu Oyster 100 yen: The umami flavor was rich and concentrated, and the taste was deeper than the ones from Akkeshi. - Akkeshi Oyster 150 yen: These were very large, almost like "Maruemon," and at this size and price, it was impressive. I had it with lemon, but it was best enjoyed as is due to the abundance of sea flavor. The scallops in the photo were still moving, so I would love to try them on the spot next time. Whenever I stay in Sapporo, I definitely want to visit this place.

After having breakfast at Keiran, I found something interesting nearby. Fresh oysters! They were being shucked right in front of me and I could eat them right away. The prices were 100 yen, 200 yen, 300 yen, and 350 yen based on size. The ones in the picture were 200 yen. Even at 200 yen, they were quite big! Very reasonable. In my hometown of Akita, oysters of this size would cost around 700 yen at an izakaya. Even at the market, they would be double the price. The taste was amazing. Perhaps the best oysters I've ever had. Thanks to this experience in Sapporo, I got to enjoy Hokkaido's seafood. If I ever visit Sapporo again, I definitely won't miss this place.
