I was struggling to decide which restaurant to choose for my 1000th review, but I chose this place where I felt the kindness of the people. Since the last time was incredibly delicious, I wanted to eat here again. Without doing any research, I thought the market would be open early in the morning (around 6 am) so I visited, but I was worried when I saw other shops closed. Luckily, this shop was preparing and when I asked, the lady kindly said "okay" with a smile. This time, I had scallops, and they took the time to prepare them nicely even though they were still getting ready to open. While it is true that you can encounter great service at expensive restaurants, I was very happy that this shop, which costs less than 1000 yen, considered the customer's perspective. I want to continue finding hidden gems by exploring shops on my own rather than relying solely on guidebooks or the internet. In Sapporo, there are two main markets, Nijo Market and Central Market, but I often see harsh comments about both online. Without really knowing the truth, I visited Central Market during the Snow Festival and it seemed normal (maybe because I didn't buy anything), so this time I went to Nijo Market early in the morning. It is conveniently located near Odori Street, making it easy to access from hotels in Sapporo. Since I missed out on eating oysters the day before, I was looking for a place where I could eat them on the spot and found this shop. - Kombu Oyster 100 yen: The umami flavor was rich and concentrated, and the taste was deeper than the ones from Akkeshi. - Akkeshi Oyster 150 yen: These were very large, almost like "Maruemon," and at this size and price, it was impressive. I had it with lemon, but it was best enjoyed as is due to the abundance of sea flavor. The scallops in the photo were still moving, so I would love to try them on the spot next time. Whenever I stay in Sapporo, I definitely want to visit this place.
