Last time, I made a reservation and visited the restaurant, and I realized how popular this place is with a constant stream of customers coming in. Today, it was still early and there seemed to be seats available, so I decided to go in without a reservation. Even though I said, "I didn't make a reservation," it was okay. Later, I noticed that everyone who came in without a reservation also made sure to confirm by saying, "Is it okay even though we didn't make a reservation?" The appetizer for the day was two kinds of burdock, one with mayo and the other with miso, which were quite good. We ordered the specialty sashimi platter, steamed oysters, and grilled kamasu. The sashimi included octopus, golden eye snapper, striped jack, wild sea bream, flounder, mackerel, blackthroat seaperch, and white mirugai, and I thought it was a great selection. Especially the blackthroat seaperch and flounder were incredibly delicious. The steamed oysters were from Hyogo prefecture, which I like, and were plump and tasty. The kamasu was small but juicy. We also ordered the grilled green onions from Shimotsuma. It was reasonably priced at ¥380 and had a guaranteed deliciousness. We also tried the red namako vinegar. We ended up ordering almost all the shochu on the menu for two people. We enjoyed quite a bit despite saying it was just a casual drink, but we were very satisfied with the bill coming to just over ¥10,000 for two people. It's a great restaurant.
