There was a shop in the Mitsukoshi basement that I wasn't familiar with. I was able to buy vegan-friendly cakes even in the department store basement! With the advice of the staff, I chose the Mont Blanc. There was a limited edition Japanese chestnut one, but I went with the regular one. The sponge at the bottom was a bit crumbly, so I ended up drinking it towards the end. It was a bit of a different Mont Blanc. I wish they had provided a spoon. Vegan-friendly options tend to be a bit expensive, but there are people who need them, and I'm sure they would be happy to have Christmas cakes available. I also wanted to try the black tea rusk. Thanks for the meal!

On a certain holiday, I stopped by a vegan and gluten-free bakery that became a permanent store at Sapporo Mitsukoshi from October. The store is located relatively close to the escalator in the middle, where you can see cake showcases and various shelves of baked goods. On this day, I purchased a "Fruit Shortcake (659 yen)" and a "Yukihikari Financier Pie - Adult Rum Raisin (400 yen)" from the menu and other items. The Fruit Shortcake looked normal despite being vegan and gluten-free, but when I took a bite... Wow, the sweetness and acidity of the strawberries on top, the slightly unique cream that is not too sweet and seems to have a bit more oil, the distinct orange and blueberry flavors in between, and the slightly tangy strawberry slices in between. The sponge-like cake was firm and had an interesting taste, which made me understand why it is vegan and gluten-free. The Yukihikari Financier Pie also had a shiny surface, but... intrigued me, so I bought it. The bottom had a gentle Monaka flavor, and inside was a moist and fluffy financier that tasted sweet and buttery, although it apparently does not contain butter. The distinct rum-flavored raisins inside were also a nice touch. I realized that this is a wonderful store for people who are restricted in eating various foods due to allergies or other reasons. Thank you for the delicious food.
