The atmosphere inside the shop is calm and the master's personality is also very gentle, which is great. I'm still not used to drinking straight, so I ended up going for a highball, but I'm happy that I can drink a variety of things. And the prices were reasonable. Thank you, master. It was a great meal.

In early January, just before 2 am, I was wandering around the Susukino area looking for a place to eat and drink at a bar. After struggling to find a place open due to the New Year holiday, I stumbled upon a small bar on the 7th floor of the Susukino 5.5 Building. The bartender kindly allowed me to stay for a drink even though it was close to closing time at 2 am. The bar had a cozy atmosphere with a wide selection of whiskies neatly displayed on the back bar. The bartender was knowledgeable about whiskies and it was clear that he started the bar because of his love for whisky. I enjoyed a White Horse Highball and then an Aberlour 16 Year Double Cask Matured Straight Scotch Whisky, which was elegant, fruity, and had a hint of sweetness and spiciness. The bar also served crispy cheese sticks and raisins as snacks, which paired perfectly with the whiskies. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience at PEAT BOZE on the 7th floor of the Susukino 5.5 Building in Sapporo, Hokkaido.

Sapporo City Chuo-ku Minami 5-jo Nishi 5-chome 20 Susukino 5.5 Building 7th floor. My regular reviewer and I were patrolling Susukino as usual. We checked out a few places but couldn't find a good spot. After wandering around, we found a whiskey bar and shot bar on the building directory and decided to check it out. We took the elevator, and the building manager informed us that nothing was open on the 8th floor, so we headed to the 7th floor. When we arrived at the front of the store, we couldn't see inside, so we looked it up online. We found the store on the Hot Pepper page and went in. The owner, alone behind the counter, said, "We're open until 2 am, but last orders have already been taken." We were about to leave when he asked if we were referred by someone. We explained that we found the place through the building directory and just wanted to have a drink. He then welcomed us to have a drink. The inside of the store was cozy, with a small L-shaped counter with 5-6 seats. The back bar was lined with bottles of malt and gin. The menu was displayed with prices, making it easy to choose. I had a Sakura Hi-ball and a Brook Laddie Hi-ball, both delicious and satisfying. We also had dried grapes and crispy cheese as snacks. The store was completely smoke-free, with clean air to enjoy the aroma and taste of the drinks. The owner used to be a salaryman but opened the bar because of his love for whiskey. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, he will make sure you have a great time with whiskey and malt. I wish we had visited earlier. This discovery was a satisfying end to our Susukino patrol.
