This is a famous udon restaurant near Ikebukuro West Exit. I have posted about it multiple times, so this time I will just share a photo and my thoughts. I tried the "Spicy Meat Juicy Udon (beef, cold)" (1,250 yen) as shown in the photo. I have had the regular "Meat Juicy Udon" before, but this was my first time trying the spicy version. I ordered the large size. You can choose from beef, pork, or a mix of both for the meat topping (prices vary). People may question why you would put chili oil in soba, but it's not often questioned or talked about when it comes to udon. It's a bit strange (laughs). In terms of taste, the combination of meat juices and chili oil creates a unique flavor that is quite familiar and comforting. They offer a free upgrade to extra-large udon, so I highly recommend it to soba lovers and those who enjoy adding chili oil to their noodles. The base of the meat juices at this restaurant doesn't have that pushy artificial taste, but rather a genuine flavor that shows their attention to quality. Yes, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. (By Kyonatsu Shukuu, 2023.9.5) (962 reviews/3.65)

After attending a study session on Noh theater, I visited before the Edobura performance at the Ikebukuro Theater Festival. I went in search of the famous Carbonara Udon, arriving a little past 4:55 PM and had to wait a bit until they opened. They asked me about the amount of noodles I wanted, and I chose the regular portion. The food arrived in about 5-6 minutes. There was only one other group of customers who came in while I was there, around 5:20 PM. The Carbonara Udon had very chewy noodles with a strong texture. It wasn't the type you could slurp down quickly. Despite that, it seemed like many people enjoyed slurping it noisily, as paper aprons were provided on the tables. The soup was easy to drink and had a good amount of black pepper. The pancetta didn't stand out much. While not the best, I thought it was decent as a "specialty" dish. It proved that there are recipes that can be enjoyed whether they are Italian or Japanese style. Thank you for showing that.

I visited for the first time, it was a 4500 yen course with all-you-can-drink option. The food portion was a bit small, so having udon at the end was a good way to balance it out. Upgrading to premium all-you-can-drink allows you to choose high-quality drinks like plum wine, which seemed appealing. Many people seemed to come here more for the udon than for the alcohol.

I visited Anpuku, which has been selected as one of the top udon restaurants several times, and ordered their famous Carbonara Udon priced at ¥1480. Despite arriving around 1 pm on a Sunday, I only had to wait for 10 minutes. The portion sizes were impressive, with regular, large, and extra-large all priced the same. The Carbonara Udon was served in a large bowl resembling a tsurutontan dish, with a soft-boiled egg, bacon, black pepper, and parsley on top, giving it the appearance of pasta carbonara. The udon noodles were chewy and had a good texture, but the sauce didn't cling to them well, making it feel a bit lacking in flavor. It seemed like there was a hint of Japanese dashi broth in the dish, giving it a light carbonara taste. While it was tasty, I questioned whether it was worth the ¥1480 price tag, especially considering some minor hygiene concerns. Overall, I would like to try a different dish next time from their extensive menu of over 60 items.

The all-you-can-drink option with an additional fee until closing time was great! There were many unique types of udon, but I chose curry which was delicious. The noodles were also tasty. Other dishes were okay. The alcohol was strong when ordered, but sometimes watered down. The staff had a simple and pleasant vibe.

I visited for lunch on a holiday. I arrived after 12 o'clock and there were 3 groups waiting in front of me. They had a wide variety of dishes, so I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up ordering the chicken and mushroom cream udon. The cream sauce was flavorful with a good balance of saltiness. Surprisingly, it was light and easy to eat!

On the second day of my Tokyo trip, I stayed at a hotel in Ikebukuro and was excited to finally visit the popular Anpuku restaurant! There was a wait of three groups outside, but since I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter without waiting. Although I was tempted by the cold sudachi, I ended up ordering the classic Carbonara Udon. After a 25-minute wait, the dish arrived and it was impressive. The large plate of udon, reminiscent of Tsurutontan, topped with a half-cooked egg was irresistible. I ordered a regular portion, but it was filling.

This is an udon specialty restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station West Exit. This time, I ordered their famous Carbonara Udon!! The noodles were chewy, and the sauce and bacon were very delicious. The onsen tamago (soft-boiled egg) was also great!! The portion sizes range from regular to large to extra-large for free, I think!! I ordered the regular size, but even that was 260g and I was stuffed✨✨ The only downside was that there was a smell from the toilet as soon as I entered the restaurant, which is not suitable for a date... They also have a store in Toranomon, so I recommend going there if you're with someone else!! It's easy to access alone, and I want to come back to Ikebukuro again. Haha By the way, it was an atmosphere that was easy to enter alone!! #Anpuku #AnpukuIkebukuroStore #IkebukuroLunch #IkebukuroGourmet

I had lunch at Anpuku, which is always crowded these days. I was able to get a seat after a long time. The unique feature of this place is that the pasta is made with thick udon noodles. They also serve traditional udon dishes, and the Kamaage Udon is recommended. The signature dish is Carbonara. It's a great place to have a drink at night, and they also have Japanese whiskey available.

As a fan of spicy food, I decided to try a unique udon dish at Anpuku today. Although the Carbonara is the famous dish at this restaurant, I ended up choosing the scorching Peperoncino with sakura shrimp and red pepper. The combination of spices and fragrance was a perfect match and I enjoyed it very much. There are still many other udon dishes to try, so I look forward to coming back and trying them next time.

I visited the restaurant at night. I was able to enter without waiting. It was my first time, so I ordered the famous carbonara and a draft beer. The order came out fairly quickly. The carbonara had a rich creaminess and a good portion size. The taste was very delicious, but personally, I would prefer it to be a bit cheaper and with a smaller portion. A large portion of carbonara can make you get tired of the taste and feel bloated. It would have been nice if there was an option to change the taste halfway through.

I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30. There was one customer at the counter and two groups at the table. I had the seafood mentaiko cream udon. The flavor of the mentaiko was strong, which was pleasing for mentaiko lovers. At first, the udon seemed light, but as I continued eating, the warmth of the udon made it gradually chewier, and I enjoyed the texture. The seaweed gradually mixed in and was delicious. The staff was not very friendly, but they left a polite impression. The interior of the restaurant was not fancy, but it was clean. As I was leaving, more customers started to come in, and there were even reservation calls, showing that it is a popular place. I would like to visit again.

It was really delicious! The aroma of the broth and the creamy egg were amazing! The Carbonara Udon was also authentic and the chewy texture of the udon matched perfectly, making it delicious! There are so many types of udon to choose from, it's hard to decide! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great, but due to its size, the presence of other customers was quite noticeable.笑

In the Udon Series Tokyo Edition, Anpuku in Ikebukuro is famous for its Carbonara Udon. As I entered, I noticed the Sudachi Udon and decided to go for the Carbonara Udon, sticking to the specialty for my first visit. Although they offer a free large size, I wasn't confident in finishing it, so I ordered a regular size. The combination of udon noodles with Carbonara sauce is really good. I'm satisfied and full after eating.

The store was supposed to open at 11:00, but when I arrived, a staff member came out and posted a notice saying that the opening was delayed until 11:10. It was unbearable in this scorching heat! I waited, but it felt like forever... Finally, when the store opened, there was no apology for the delay. I ordered a cold beer and white wine, along with an appetizer set including Iburi Gakko cheese and rolled omelette. For the udon, I ordered Carbonara udon and Beef Tendon Black Curry udon. The rolled omelette was delicious, and the Carbonara udon tasted just like Italian Carbonara. The Beef Tendon Black Curry udon was a bit spicy and the beef tendon was tender. It was a fun experience, although the dishes were a bit on the rich side. The Beef Tendon Black Curry udon is served in a deep bowl, so it stays hot until the end, making you sweat, but it's highly recommended.

For lunch, I visited for the first time and was able to sit down without waiting. I ordered a large serving of cold udon with lots of summer-only sudachi citrus on top, along with a tempura set. The refreshing taste was just as expected. I ended up getting really full, more than I expected. Next time, I might try the carbonara.

Located at 1-1 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Udon Anpuku is a small restaurant just a 2-3 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station C9 exit. The interior is dimly lit and gives off a vibe of being popular among young couples, although there were also a few solo diners. Upon entering with an older man and a high school girl, I was worried about being misunderstood. I had high expectations as it was listed as one of the top 100 udon restaurants. I ordered the recommended Carbonara Udon and Mentaiko Cheese Udon. The dishes arrived fairly quickly and were quite filling. The udon had a nice texture and was delicious. However, the Carbonara was not as rich as traditional pasta Carbonara, leaving me slightly unsatisfied. Apologies for my unsophisticated palate. The Mentaiko Cheese Udon was decent after mixing it well. They offer a variety of creative udon dishes, making it a good choice for those who want to try different flavors. Thank you for the meal.

I saw this restaurant on Tabelog and decided to go for the first time. I ordered the Ikebukuro set which came with a drink, udon, salad, and dessert. I chose the Cholegi salad, a highball drink, the famous carbonara udon, and the matcha zenzai dessert. The carbonara udon was decent but lacked depth in flavor. The dessert, matcha zenzai, consisted of matcha ice cream, mochi, and red beans. The total came to ¥2,350. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the back side of Rosa Kaikan, along the main street, I visited this place around 9 pm on a weekend. The restaurant was quite empty. I tried their famous Carbonara Udon (¥1,400) and the tender braised pork in black vinegar. As an udon restaurant, I have to say the evaluation is not that great. However, as a dish to finish off a drinking session, it's good. There are similar dishes at a certain chain restaurant, and I felt they were on par with this place. Although I gave a critical evaluation, it doesn't mean the food wasn't tasty. Considering various factors including service, this is the rating I would give.
