I woke up to sake in my fourteenth generation and finally visited a shop I had always wanted to go to since becoming a sake lover. The main reason for my visit was the private brand of Akki-san from the fourteenth generation. I went for the fourteenth PB, but the food was delicious, the service was pleasant, and the sake selection was good, which led to it being ranked number one on my izakaya ranking. I plan to visit regularly from now on. Here is what I had this time:
[Sake]
- Fourteenth Generation Akki PB
- Kameizumi Nigoritori Akki Limited Edition
- Torayama Akki Limited Edition
- Ushinigoritori Matsunosuke Akki Betsuai
- Amagounotsuki Junmai Daiginjo Akki Limited Edition?
[Food]
- Otoshi
- Cold tofu
- Assorted sashimi
- Grilled eel
- Tempura of corn
- Lotus root manju (complimentary)
- Potato salad with nukazuke
- Eel rice cooked in an earthenware pot
- Konjac sashimi
[Impressions]
All the dishes were delicious, but the standout was the konjac sashimi. It was incredibly delicious, and I would want to recommend it if asked what to eat before I die. The corn tempura was also sweet and delicious. The assorted sashimi was small but very tasty. On the other hand, the eel rice lacked the flavor of eel, which was disappointing. I also couldn't try the famous soba that was on offer. It seems like making a reservation in advance is a good idea, so I will do that next time.
[Other]
I made a reservation two days before the opening time. Based on my research, the assorted sashimi was recommended, so I ordered that as well. The phone service was also very good. There are some reviews mentioning poor service, but I didn't experience that at all. The service on the day was excellent. I definitely want to go back again.

I visited the usual sake bar with my friends. As usual, we ordered sashimi when making a reservation. This way, we get an extra type of sashimi. We started with a toast with beer, and ordered dishes like tempura corn and meat-wrapped Yanaka ginger. The selection of snacks that go well with sake is excellent. We started with Juyondai sake and then each of us ordered our favorite ones. The female staff's skillful service made the experience stress-free. The ones that were particularly delicious were Torikaiyama and Kameizumi. As always, we ended up drinking too much, but it's a wonderful izakaya. This is truly a sacred place.

I went to a restaurant that a friend recommended to me a while ago. It was even better than I imagined. Every dish created by the chef was delicious. The corn tempura, konjac sashimi, pork-wrapped Tanaka ginger, water eggplant sashimi, fried summer vegetables, cucumber tempura, white fish skewers with miso marinade, sesame soy sauce sardines, sashimi, and asparagus ohitashi were all incredibly tasty. It had been a long time since I was so moved by food. The variety of sake was also impressive, especially the Juyondai's Akakubi PB. The service was excellent, with the staff being kind and helpful even though they were busy. I left feeling full and pleasantly tipsy, all at a reasonable price. I would love to go back again, and if it were closer, I would want to visit every day. It's a popular spot, so it's best to make a reservation if you plan to go on the weekend.

A restaurant where you can enjoy sake and seasonal vegetables. I was surprised that they offer a private version of Juyondai sake made directly from the brewery. It was my first time trying it! Of course, I ordered it right away. It was a refreshing dry sake and incredibly delicious. All the food was also delicious. Finally, I had soba noodles. I want to go back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

All the dishes paired well with the Japanese sake and were delicious. The fried cucumber and fresh karasumi were particularly tasty. The menu had some unique items that were all delicious. There was a wide variety of sake to choose from, making it enjoyable just to look through the menu. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and top-notch. I definitely want to make a reservation and go back again!

I made a reservation a month ago and arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 PM on Friday. The quality of the assorted sashimi was excellent and reservation is a must. The fish itself was delicious as always, and the fresh wasabi was not too spicy. The corn tempura was sweet and impressive. Each dish was carefully prepared with solid knowledge and skills, making diners feel happy. The sake selection from various breweries across Japan was served at the perfect temperature, clear, smooth, and aromatic. It's a nice place that I would recommend to foreigners. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Ordering around 3 to 5 dishes per person costs about 12,000 yen per person.

I went to this restaurant with 3 friends for a girls' night out. I was very satisfied, but the age group was older and the rules inside the restaurant were strict, so it's recommended for those who want a relaxed drinking experience. The signature dish, konjac, was delicious. We had also requested sashimi in advance, and they prepared 9 different kinds for us. The sashimi was so delicious and sweet, it made me wonder if you can eat such delicious sashimi in Tokyo. As a sake lover, I was very happy that all the menu items were served with fresh sake. There were even some that were only available with the red demon of Juyondai, and they were very delicious. I was very satisfied with both the food and the drinks. I would definitely like to use this restaurant again.

The restaurant is located in the Sangenjaya area. When I visited after 5 pm, I was seated at the counter without a reservation, which was lucky. I was excited by the variety of sake available. I had 5 drinks and 3 dishes. The Juyondai and Tedorigawa were especially delicious. The atmosphere was great and I was very satisfied.

I visited again! The fermented sweetfish was delicious! The salted fish liver was amazing! They offer mainly sweet and aromatic types of sake, but I found Snow's Thatched Hut to be more on the dry side. The food at Kozaemon and Iwa was delicious as always. The sake from the tasting competition was also great! You can order high-end sake in half portions. I'll definitely go back!

I thought the restaurant would be scarier based on the reviews, but everyone seemed to be enjoying their sake and snacks. There were regulars, newcomers, older people, and young people all mixed together, but the common factor was a love for Japanese sake. I initially thought the drinks didn't have much volume, but the sake cups were actually deep and held a good amount (lol). Before I knew it, I was getting lost in the drinks. As a drinker, I couldn't be happier. The variety, composition, and seasoning of the snacks were exquisite. Surprisingly, many of them were light and easy on the body, which I realized after leaving the restaurant. My stomach didn't feel tired. The Juyondai PB was delicious - I've had Juyondai in various places, but this was the first time I found it so tasty.

I drank too much Japanese sake that night, only ordering sake that sounded appealing, and ended up making a fool of myself at the third bar later. I had always been mispronouncing "Hanatomo" as "Hanatomo-e," but the bartender kindly corrected me. It turns out "Hanatomo" means flower and circle. But it's delicious, so it's okay. We ordered scallops grilled with seaweed, sea urchin, potato, crab miso, fresh karasumi, pickled turnips, fried corn, ginger pork rolls with shiso leaves.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. Since I had pre-ordered a sashimi platter, it was increased from 8 varieties to 9. I started with beer to quench my thirst, and then the sake party began. I first ordered a Yamada Nishiki Junmai Ginjo from Juyondai, which was sweet and very delicious. Couldn't stop drinking it. Next was Honmaru. I hadn't really compared Honmaru with Juyondai before, but when I did, it was a bit more refreshing. A new discovery. From there, everyone ordered their favorite sake. The one that left an impression on me was definitely Hanayoka. As for the food, the corn tempura was delicious, just like before. I drank too much, didn't I? This place is a sake paradise.

I am so moved, I can't even say anything. The variety of sake as soon as you enter is amazing. The high turnover and storage conditions allow for the best quality sake to be served. And the food is truly delicious. Highly recommended.

Located in Sangenjaya. It's hard to make a reservation, so I went there right when they opened and gave my name for a reservation. It seems like they call you for the second round. They opened at 5 pm and I got a call around 7:30 pm. I felt lucky to get in and inside there were many kinds of Japanese sake, including Juyondai. I'm not very knowledgeable about alcohol, but I asked for recommendations and enjoyed everything I ordered. The appetizers were delicious, and I finished with soba. I definitely want to go back again!

☆Meishu Izakaya Akki (Today's Order) (Drinks) Junmai Ginjo Matsunosuke (Nama) Akki Betsucho 1210 yen Junmai Ginjo Kurabito (Nama) Price forgotten (Appetizers) Otoshi: Fresh seaweed assortment, thick-fried tofu and butterbur, new burdock chips, 3 kinds of shellfish, namero namako nukazuke, potato salad, tempura sea grapes (Atmosphere) First time visiting! Apparently, a super popular spot in Sangenjaya! It's said that if you don't know this place, you're in trouble... Even though it was past 8 o'clock and we didn't have a reservation, we were able to get in, but it's usually so popular that you can't get in without one. The staff kindly asked us before entering, "This is a Japanese sake specialty store and we don't have shochu, is that okay?" and reassured us that it's not a scary place run by a notorious old man. But they did have beer, just in case (laughs). The entrance had a very elegant atmosphere, but I was surprised when I entered the restaurant! About 80% of the customers were young people (in their mid-20s?). Do young people these days like sake? I was so impressed by the lineup of sake that I couldn't decide what to order. Unfortunately, the popular Hakurakusei was sold out, probably because it was a Monday (cries). The dishes were a perfect match for sake, a great lineup befitting a famous restaurant! Since this was our second stop today, we didn't order much, but we'll definitely come back with an empty stomach next time! (Budget) Around 3000 yen per person.

It was truly a dream theme park for sake lovers, like a Disneyland for adults. The menu was lined with rare sake such as Shirakawa and Kameizumi, overshadowing even the famous brands. In particular, the Juyondai at Akamon PB (only available at Akamon) is a must-order. It has a smooth taste and goes well with any dish. This time, I tried various things, but next time I want to relax and enjoy it at the counter. The food was all high quality and perfectly matched the sake. If you want to drink sake and eat to your heart's content, I recommend eating a little before visiting (since the dishes are small). It seems to be a very popular restaurant lately, so it's best to order early due to the busy atmosphere. I will definitely come back.

It was a shop for people who love sake in Japan! Everything from the appetizers to the sashimi seemed to be connected to sake. I'm glad I reserved the sashimi platter. It was even more delicious than I thought, and I was very satisfied. I also encountered limited edition sake, making it a perfect day.

This is a famous izakaya in Sangenjaya known for its selection of sake. I finally went with a group of friends and enjoyed the creatively prepared dishes that paired well with the sake. The pork wrapped in Taito ginger was a perfect balance of rich and refreshing flavors. The firefly squid fry came with a surprising wood sorrel tartar sauce, adding an unexpected twist. The yuzu miso tofu was a simple yet tasty appetizer. The sashimi was fresh, although nothing out of the ordinary. The variety of sake was impressive, catering to sake enthusiasts. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was typical of an izakaya. Overall, the izakaya offers a great selection of sake and delicious dishes.

I have been a regular at an izakaya in Sangenjaya for a long time. Sometimes I feel like drinking Juyondai, so I stop by like a sleepwalker. Today, I chose Honmaru and Junmai Ginjo. Both have a half-serving limit. I started with shishamo and white fish skewers in shiokoji. I ordered some of my favorite dishes to enjoy with the delicious sake. The tempura is made with burdock today. For the finale, I had eel rice cooked in a clay pot, which was just the right amount. Thank you as always for the wonderful meal today.

I recently started drinking sake and went to Akakichi after a long time. My impression is that it is a must-visit for those who are particular about sake. The food pairs well with all the sake options available, which are plentiful, so it's easy to end up drinking too much. The restaurant is small, so it may not be suitable for business entertaining, but it is a great place to go with friends who love sake or with a partner.

This popular and famous restaurant that my friend made a reservation for. When it opened, it was already full, and I had to wait for over 10 minutes to place my order because many customers came in at once. The staff seemed busy and rushed. Finally, when it was my turn to order, they informed me that they were out of beer. As a beer lover, it was disappointing for me. Since the restaurant is known for its wide variety of sake, I decided to try the famous Juyondai. As expected, all the sakes were delicious.
