Despite this delay, events like the Olympic marathon will still take place in Sapporo. The news reports that it will be impossible to vaccinate the elderly in Sapporo throughout July due to a 70% reduction in vaccine supply, the highest cut in the country. "Kushiro Kitasho" is a seafood company store with its main branch in Kushiro. The store focuses on local fish from eastern Hokkaido. They have outlets at the "Daimaru Sapporo Store" and "Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store" in Sapporo. Their top recommendation is the "One-night dried Pacific saury" made from Pacific saury caught in Kushiro. It is a bit pricey but has a delicious taste. The cute "Ichibanboshi" mark is a unique point for the fish, which is rare for fish. "Kushiro Kitasho" recently opened a new outlet called "Umazakana (Delicious Fish) at Marui Imai Sapporo Store." It is a takeout specialty store for grilled fish dishes like "grilled fish bento" and "grilled fish." The "Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store" forms part of the "Mitsukoshi Sapporo Store" and "Hokkaido Marui Mitsukoshi Co., Ltd." It is a long-established local department store in Sapporo with a rich history. At "Umazakana at Marui Imai Sapporo Store," they grill and sell fish from "Kushiro Kitasho" in the store. If you have an hour, you can have the fish from "Kushiro Kitasho at Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store" grilled for you. The style is similar to a morning market. It opened on May 26, 2021. I visited for the first time with my usual companion. The store is located in the basement of the Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store Daiichi Building in the central district of Sapporo. Check on Tabelog for the exact location. I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. The space was previously occupied by various fish-related stores like "Hamatou." Therefore, they also sell items like "eel" and "bagged oden." The grilled fish bento and grilled fish are now more affordable. They also sell items like "fish balls," which are similar to fried fish nuggets. They did not sell the grilled fish version of the "One-night dried Pacific saury" as usual. They said it would take an hour to grill it for me. They sell the "grilled fish bento" on weekdays for 540 yen. It includes "hokke" and "salmon" from the riches of Hokkaido. My usual companion loves "shimahokke." The "hokke" in the bento on the day of my visit weighed 406g (after removing the windbag), with the "shimahokke" weighing 177g. It had a jumbo-sized fatty portion with a strong umami taste. It also included side dishes like okra with sesame dressing, pickles, boiled vegetables, broccoli, potatoes, carrots, and rice with small plums. Price: 540 yen (tax included).
